Cavalier approach to room cleaning, staff not exactly on the case, and didn't get the breakfast I had paid for, and nothing offered in recompense.

Booked B&B. Was told there would be no breakfast. In fact the staff didn't even know I was coming. Was asked to pay cash, for a stay I had already paid for. A bit of a weird experience, but a lovely location. Accommodation o.k. fairly typical low budget place.

Our flight was delayed, we have informed the host, but they didn’t tell us how to get in late, which door was opened and we had to wait outside till the morning ( all night). Lack of communication, I received the messages in Greek language not English what seemed weird. The hosts not so friendly as expected in such a places, with no interest to guests. Breakfast minimum and usually late.

We waited for a while on the reception, there was no bell. Maybe for the future? The hostess let me pay and the cardmachine didnt work so I had to pay in cash. She gave me less back and as I hesitated she then asked me if she gave me less, she probably didnt mean it but it felt to be forced to give a tipp, not the best start. The bath was constructed unready, showering flooded the whole floor and the paperholder fell constantly as a bolt missed. Its loud in the night if people talk in the reception floor, which a group of guests did so take Oropax with you :)

The Coffee and the Orangejuice were good for breakfast, the lokation is amazing. The cooler in the room was very helpful and well working. The hostess offered to bring some extra Beachtowels as we asked if the white ones were only for the room? That was mindfull of her. There were enough towels. The location is oerfectly close to the beach and with a walk on the beach you fastly reach many restaurants and shops. They offer enough parkingspace and by car you can easily reach the airport.

The shower was so small that you had to watch out not to shower the whole toilet as well.

It was right at the beach, just a 50 m walk and you could dip into the ocean. The host family was very friendly and uncomplicated. We got served breakfast and we could return the key at anytime. As I said the best about the rooms are that they are located next to the sea and very close to a nearby village which is cute and has good tavernas.

I would not recommend this location to anyone. Extremely noisy through the whole night, as room was next to the kitchen (fridge against the wall? , measured noise was 68 dB) . Owners refused to discuss the problem the next day and we're aggressive in their responses. Owners obliged us to pay cash only, as we tried to explain to them the noise problem, she told us to be quiet. Everywhere else in crete, (10 hotels/apartments, we stayed in) the people have been amazing friendly and helpful, recommend you go somewhere else

The host is unbelievably rude and hostile right form the start. We didn't get the room layout that we booked, it was also dirty and missing several basic things. We raised this concern and requested to switch to the room that we booked. The owner said that we can leave and go to a 5* hotel if we don't like it, but she's keeping 50% of the money. By the way, they'd already precharged us for the full amount 2 days before arrival. We called booking.com to sort out the issue, customer service was trying to help and negotiate with them, first offering to only have to pay for one night, then when they learned how they had treated us, they told us that we should be refunded fully. We couldn't go anywhere else because it was already late at night when we arrived, so we stayed until the morning, for which we would have been ok to pay for. The owner refused to talk to us the next morning, insisting that she'd only speak to the Greek booking.com. They tried, but she didn't want to cooperate with them either and then didn't answer their calls or emails. When trying to talk to owner again, one of them picked up a piece of wood and started shouting at me to leave. Yep. You read it right. At this point we left. Days later they charged us the FULL amount, on top of the full amount they already precharged 2 days prior to our arrival. That first transaction is STILL pending and not reverted after 2 weeks, and the bank cannot do anything about it. I tried calling the owner to have them explain why they charged me again, and not for 50%, to which she replied "because you caused me too much trouble and I had to talk to booking.com many times". Yep. You read it right. Of course we didn't get any invoice from them, so apart from how they treat their customers they are likely doing tax evasion as well. They will have some explaining to do with the Greek authorities. Thankfully booking.

The room was not clean enough and not as it look on the pictures we have seen. There is no reception. The people who owned the hotel was at the beach and nobody was at the hotel to give us the keys and directions. we were looking for them at the beach so we can get in our room. Finally when we have fund them at 4 o'clock in the evening they told us that the room was not clean yet.. Kindly note the check in hour was on 4 o'clock but we got in our room at 5 and 10 because it wasn't prepared by the maid. The worst hotel!

.We booked 2 x double rooms at Poseidon Studios on the 12th July using the booking.com app. As soon as the property confirmed, we booked flights to Chania Airport. On 19th July an email from booking.com, action required - invalid credit card - 24 hours to update or booking could be cancelled. This happened 3 times. Each time I updated details immediately, finally using a credit card that has only ever been used for balance transfers, which was then confirmed. I saw a message on booking.com from the owner of Poseidon studios 72 hours before our flight, saying, it is one price if you pay immediately, and a different price if you leave it to the last minute. The new price is €65. I looked at the booking confirmation on booking.com, and it said that we would not be charged for our reservation, and we would pay on arrival. I left a message saying we would be happy to pay the agreed price on booking.com €1163 euros. Within two minutes our booking had been cancelled, I couldn’t believe it. I called and spoke to the manager, a lady called Katarina. This lady shouted at me for five minutes, stating it was a prepay room only, and that because I hadn’t paid the original price immediately, it was now a new price, higher. In fact, a significantly more expensive (1500 euros). Not wanting to upset my family, and at this moment 2 days to go before flying to Chania Airport, and not being able to find anything similar, I rebooked at the new price, using a credit card that had not been refused. Upon arrival at 8pm Monday evening, after a 14 hour journey, Katarina informed us that there was only one room at Poseidon Studios, and a villa with a view and pool was available to us a twenty minute drive away, which two of our group could use until another room freed up 2 days later. For us this was unacceptable, as we are on a family holiday and had not planned on needing to hire a car, Poseidon studios is directly on the beach.

It was really dirty, mainly the bathroom. The stuff was unapproachable, when we arrived the owner texted me on Booking in Greek that the key is in the lock. The breakfast is 4 slices of bread every day. They took the money from my debit card altough in the reservation we were supposed to pay in cash. When we asked for a receipt they acted like they do not understand what we are asking for. They took my beach towel (I’m sure it was on accident) and I never got it back. The towels, bedsheets, pillow cases were spotty and disgusting. It is in a very remote and reclused area, far from the city centre, so if you are not with a car, you can’t go anywhere. We were told that we can get free sunbeds on the beach but on the last day they bothered us there to buy something. It’s cheap, so if you don’t want to spend time at the accomodation then it’s okay but I would not recommend it.

It is by the beach which is beautiful and supposedly you get free sunbeds. They have an AC.

We stayed for one week in June. The hotel is small, the location is excellent, the room is clean, comfortable with balcony and small kitchen. Cleaned once every two days, the bed is clean, towels are new. The beach is clean, cleaned every morning, umbrellas, sun loungers are good. The food is well prepared, everything is tasty and not expensive. We enjoyed our stay very much, thanks to the hosts. We'll come again.

Some small things: The building and reception, on arrival, felt dated and with no staff- end of season, and we arrived very late; our fault. Little or no choice for breakfast- but this is normal at the price. Return visit- card payment failed- no signal?- so we had to go in convoy to get cash from ATM in Georgeoupolis; partly our fault for not carrying more cash. So- not a lot to dislike.

The main pluses are location and staff. The pics I had viewed don't fully depict the 'wide open spaces' feel around the beach breakfast bar and the vast beach, with hills about a kilometre inland. The staff were most helpful and accommodating; we got lost- our fault- and arrived late; they were happy to come out at 9pm to settle us in. On return trip- we booked this after first stay, because it's so good, and handy for Chania- they coped with doing breakfast during a heavy rainstorm. Swimming is great- walk on sand into warm sea; sand underfoot way out; practically had the bay- 7km?- to ourselves; end of season. Proximity to beach- surprised they don't have 'beach' in the hotel name. the place (and its spacious parking) is on the beach side of the road, so no road to cross to swim. So distances thus: Main road-5m old quiet road; 10m front door; back door 25m beach eating place; 20m waters edge. We used Chania for good flight times; our main stay was east of Heraklion- bad flight times- and this is a great way of breaking the journey across Crete; near airport but very uncrowded and quiet. Nearest town Georgeoupolis is 10 min walk along beach, or old quiet road, and a great place for evening drink in the square then a meal- superb and less 'touristy'. We'll be back!

Rather long walk into town, but I had a car so didn't trouble me. Room 3 had no wifi signal and TV signal was intermittent. Rather small en-suite bathroom, but adequate for one.

Excellent position right on the beach, with sunbeds and sunshades, you can walk for miles if it is not too hot!. Good quiet AC in room 3. Included Cretan breakfast was basic but adequate start to the day. Decent selection of food available at beachbar until 8 in the evening. Good wifi at beachside bar.

I made this reservation on may, just two days before we arrived, i received a message on Booking to tell me that they gave my room to an other people. I tryed to called them and they hang out the phone in my face. I had to called Booking to cancelled this reservation (cause the hotel didn't) and found an other place to stay. Now they telling me it's cause of my credit card.

We had a very good stay. Read some comments from some people that where not happy with the place. It always depends what you expect. We enjoyed the food and the choice to still be able to walk along the beach to Giorgeopolis and eat there. It is not a five star place, so if you are looking for that, go to some other place. It's not a large breackfast, but look at the price. All in all we where very satisfied with the place. Thank you.

Nothing, it perfectly fits our expectations for years :)

We know this small hotel for 12 years and love it for location and for the hospitality of Katarina and her family. Rooms are quite simple but when you live in 50 meters from one of the best Cretan beaches it does not matter. Its food is great, and it's easy to get to either Chania or Rethymno as well as to other points of interests like Kournas lake and mountains nearby.

I didn't expect to find a 5 stars accommodation since I payed only 40€ of course. However having found the bed sheets dirty(with yellow and black halos) together with an indecent, yellow toilet seat and a super dirty shower curtain allow me to say that between a simple and not expensive accomodation(chosen to sleep and leaving very early in the morning) and and a dirty place there is DIGNITY, which this place doesn't have at all. Never and never again.
