Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe room was small. The laundry detergent was overpowering and caused an allergic reaction/asthma attack. We moved the comforters out to the balcony but it was still strong. The area felt very touristy and I was not thrilled with the very windy beach. The other side of the island has the better beaches.
The hotel was close to a variety of restaurants in a busy area near the beach. The staff were helpful and informative and gave us a welcome drink upon arrival. The room was clean. The twin beds were ok. The morning breakfast had the same basic items of toast, jam, fruit, OJ and coffee or tea with a different main each day, and I really liked the gentleman who served us every morning. He was friendly and engaging. The pizza I had there for dinner was really good!

HungaryComparing how nice the room was, the bathroom could use a renovation.
The hotel has a great location, about a 10-minute walk from both the city center, old town, and about 5 minutes from the beach. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. They provided even extra breakfast one morning. Breakfast included every morning coffee/tea, juice, some small bowl of fresh fruit, jam with toast, and a main breakfast dish which varied every day. If you wanted they cleaned the room every day, changing both the sheets and the towels. The room has air conditioning. Overall it was a good stay, with great value for the price.

GermanyMany hotels and restaurant in the street. At night it can get a little noisy, when the young party people come back to the hotel. Not really a negative.... We just closed the balcony door and it was fine for us.
Hotel Staff exceptional welcoming and friendly people throughout the hotel. Reception was very helpful. Room had everything you need, everything worked well and was cleaned daily. The Hotel's "Gorilla's Place" Restaurant and their staff have been just perfect with great food and prices. Price- Value **** Absolute recommendable !!!

United KingdomThe rooms were a little noisy, you could hear people in the hallway and in other rooms in the night time. At the end of the day it did not take away from all of the good qualities of this hotel.
The staff were super welcoming, and friendly. As it was still out of season they were perhaps not fully booked, the lovely receptionist remembered me from our email correspondence and made me feel so welcome. They brought me my breakfast to my room every morning, and housekeeping kept my room refreshed, even leaving me an extra blanket without me even having to ask. The location was fantastic. 1 min walk from the beach, 10 min walk from the old town, plenty of restaurants, bars, shops, and massage places right outside.

Czech Republic- a little bit noisier at night, which partly depends on neighbours (the walls seems to be rather thin) and motorcycles in the street - bathroom needs some little repairs but nothing serious, I personally had no problems with it.
- smooth communication before and during my stay in the hotel - the hotel staff was very kind - simple accomodation with simple breakfast near to the seaside for reasonable price

United KingdomThe only improvement be the addition of an iron and a kettle.
Staff and owners are very friendly and helpful. The room was kept very clean and although fairly basic it was adequate. The big bonus was the very reasonable price, and although the location could be a bit noisy, but it was placed very well for both beaches and the Old Town.

The furnished balcony overlooking the town allowed me to soak in the local atmosphere. - Greek Breakfast Delight: The superb breakfast, rich with traditional Greek flavors, set the perfect tone for my days. A delightful hotel to stay in. From the warm welcome on arrival our week long stay was wonderful. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and quiet. Everything was very clean, and the varied breakfast was good. October is a good time to visit, the weather is perfect. The location is great, it's like a village, surrounded by cafes, restaurants and shops. The beach is only ten minutes walk away, the old town about twenty minutes, and the central bus terminal less than fifteen minutes. This hotel is highly recommended, and excellent value for money. Thank you Svea Hotel for your excellent hospitality!
