The only issue for us is that we were on level 7 and you can hear the chairs moving around in the upstairs restaurant. It did quiet down through the night but got noisy again for the breakfast session.

The only downside I can think of was waiting for lifts. They would take so long to come, and so often ended up walking up and downstairs.

I don’t think we could have picked a better hotel in Athens. The rooftop bar/restaurant has excellent food with a magnificent view. The rooms were clean and comfortable and staff very friendly. Location wise it is a 5-10 minute walk from entrance to Acropolis. Will definitely stay again if and when I return to Athens.

I recently stayed at this fantastic hotel in the heart of Athens, and it exceeded all my expectations. The highlight of my stay was the breathtaking view of the Acropolis, which could be enjoyed right from the restaurant. It was truly a sight to behold, especially at night when the Acropolis was beautifully illuminated. The rooms were incredibly comfortable, spacious, and elegantly decorated. The bed was plush and provided a perfect night's sleep, and the room was equipped with all the modern amenities one could need. The attention to detail in the room's design and cleanliness was impeccable. Breakfast at the hotel was another standout feature. Served in a charming dining area with equally stunning views of the Acropolis, the breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of delicious options, from fresh fruits and pastries to traditional Greek dishes. The quality of the food was excellent, and the staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring a delightful start to each day. The hotel's central location made it incredibly convenient for exploring Athens. Major attractions, shops, and restaurants were all within walking distance, allowing me to make the most of my time in this vibrant city. Overall, my experience at this hotel was exceptional. The combination of the prime location, comfortable rooms, spectacular views, and outstanding breakfast made it a memorable stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Athens.

I am a soft bed lover and these were alright, but definitely could have been better. There was also a time when the AC controls had been taken over by the front desk without warning, but I assume that is my fault (I keep it very low when I can). Other than that, the stay was wonderful.

The room wasn't spectacular, but it WAS comfortable and had AC controls inside (a must on hot days). There was a balcony that had a side view of some ruins and made for a lovely late night chat station. The staff were helpful and kind! The true star of Athens Gate is the rooftop restaurant and bar. There is a perfect view of the Acropolis/Parthenon and it makes for lovely pictures. I may have cried while sipping my cocktail the first night and again sipping my coffee that morning... We never once had to fight anyone over the seating and were lucky all three times that we went upstairs to have perfect seats!

Excellent breakfast with great views from the rooftop terrace of the Acropolis and city. The staff was very helpful recommending restaurants, giving suggestions for places to visit, and often helping to make those arrangements. They also arranged a taxi for us to the airport. We took "taxi ubers" (yellow vehicles with taxi sign on top) utilizing the UBER app to travel to destinations further away like the National Archeaological Museum. The hotel is in an excellent location. The main pedestrian walkway is behind the hotel on which you access the Acropolis, Acropolis Museum, and the Ancient Agora grounds. The cleaning staff worked very quickly and efficiently to keep the rooms and facilities looking good for guests.

Wonderful hotel! Walking distance to the Acropolis, Hadrian’s Arch, Olympic Stadium, restaurants and shopping. The gentleman at reception even had a packed lunch for us at our early check out.
