Only thing was that right after the arrival, there was an issue with the flush of the toilet but next morning Eleni called the plummer and figured it out while we were away at the beach so all was good when we arrived at night.

Our host Eleni was super friendly and welcoming from the very beginning. She came up with the map of the island upon our arrival and pointed out every single place we could visit. Every night when we arrived back from the road trip, she was always welcoming us with nice gestures, offering cup of Greek coffee and suggesting more spots for the next day. Would highly recommend to stay at her place.

Eleni, the owner of the place was so friendly that we felt as if we were at home. She helped a lot in every way. We had a nice small kitchen in our room where we could prepare our breakfast. The air conditioning was very important and it was working perfectly since it was scorching hot.

There was nothing that I didn't like.

As most people mentioned in their comments here, Eleni is more than a wonderful host. Polite, knowledgeable, sincere. We were all like we knew her since years. The hotel itself is a historical building, pretty cute, extremely silent, very close to the port which is 5-8 mins slow driving (I don't prefer hotels near to ports/stations). Rooms are super clean and some have a mini kitchen.

It is a cozy, sincere place where you feel like your family’s countryside house. Eleni is the nicest, kindest, most gentle hotel owner ever! She made everything easier and more beautiful for me.

Eleni’s place named as Topakas is really warm, clean and at good position. First welcoming drink mastika experienced with Eleni’s friendly conversation makes the trip good start. Dont hesitate to ask whatever about suggestion of trip on island.

Absolutely and without a doubt, host Eleny makes you feel like you have a home and a friend in Chios. The courtyard is magnificent, and sitting there, chatting with Eleny, is even more wonderful. The rooms are spotless, and everyone is very friendly. You can learn all the information you need about the island in Topakas and plan your route. Chios town is only a 10-minute drive away. We have already started planning to stay again for a longer period.

The propert is so good. Room is very clean and it smells perfect. Ms. Eleni who is the owner of Topakas hotel behave very hospitality and served traditional refreshments. She gives a lot of information about the Chios island and celebrity places.

Bottom line we were over charged for this accomodation. The location might be quaint. It might be August. However our room was straight from the 70's and would have been typical back then. Old style Greek amateur do it yourself renovation. Cubical bathroom. Brick and concrete single beds. Not worth almost €60 - without breakfast. I understand they had two bad seasons. Still I feel robbed.

The owner/manager was pleasant enough, she was quite happy as she took our money and reprimanded us for not contacting her before we arrived, as we were travelling with dogs. Although on the site it said "Pet friendly" and we were not notified in anyway that we should,

the location was far from the port (close to the airport though), and there is no view, but my taxi to the port early the morning was ordered and arrived to the minute on time, thanks to my hostess

the hostess was an interesting, intelligent lady who spoke great english and just seemed a cordial educated woman. helpful to the extreme.

A bit run down"; needs upgrading to better standards. Also, the location; the vehicular traffic outside intrudes into and often disturbs the tranquility of the occupants. Finally, the persistent barking of dogs at all and any times and the "crooning" of roosters, plus the overflying aircraft using the nearby airport, make for not exactly tranquil vacation. Furthermore, its location make absolutely necessary possession of a vehicle; thankfully there is a huge adjacent private piece of land where parking is available and easy!

The friendliness and excellent hospitality of the owners; always present and eager to assist! In fact we have become good friends!
