Very fancy hotel but affordable if there are many of you staying! We got a free upgrade to a suite with two levels, two bathrooms, a sofa bed, and their super bomb buffet breakfast (make sure you’re hungry). Nice pool and hot tub, two gyms, and a sauna (not as hot as Tikal). They also let us leave our luggage there for free since we were staying there before and after our one night Tikal trip, so we didn’t have to pay for luggage on our avianca flight to Flores! A guy from my lake atitlan collectivo got out and even took a picture of it so I definitely felt very fancy being there. Would definitely stay again!

The pool and hottub are awesome!! My only thing is that it definitely felt like it needed a clean at the time that we were there.

Great staff and beds were so comfy!! Airport shuttle was easy and a great service. The hotel as a whole is a great value for what was paid!

There are no taxi outside . I had the business office call and they said 5 minutes but 20 min later they had not come, so I had to go back and have them call again… I am handicapped and it’s far to walk when I ask one girl at the desk for taxi she said no English but taxi is the same name in both Spanish and English. I always stay at Barcelo hotels because they are a class and elegant hotel chain

The chair in my room had a big stain in the seat. Wish I'd been put in a room with one bigger bed instead of the double bed room.

The steak salad was expensive but very tasty. Water pressure was awesome. Lobby and facilities were fancy and comfortable. Was glad the staff could speak English and were very polite. Guest gym.

The shower was slightly difficult to operate (you had to pull a lever up for about 5 seconds before the water would change from the bath tap to the shower faucet). Otherwise, everything was great.

Easy transfer to and from the airport. Straightforward check in process. Good restaurants on site and a sports bar which is open until late. East check out process. The shuttles go to the airport every hour and are free, but you need to book onto this. The whole process was painless. The room was nice, classic standard international hotel vibe.

The property touts itself as being near the airport, but don't count on being able to take a free shuttle unless you book way in advance. We asked for 7 a.m. transportation and they said the only shuttle opening was at 5 a.m. Fortunately, an Uber to the airport is fairly inexpensive. Also, the room we were in was extraordinarily noise, it sounded like a hurricane was raging outside even though the skies were clear. Fortunately, one of us could take out his hearing aids and I was so tired from hiking volcanoes that I managed to sleep despite the noise.

The beds were comfortable, the room was clean and the location was perfect. We just needed an overnight rest before catching an early flight back to the U.S. The staff was generally helpful, although when they say room check-in is at 3 p.m., they aren't joking around. But we killed time in the sports bar (which is definitely made for people with much shorter legs than we have.)

Your security for the separation of the towers. We were on a big group and despite having a room number and card in hand the staff did not help me get to my 82 y/o father's room until I approached a manager.

Cold and overcooked eggs sitting in serving pan too long. No bacon on two mornings. No breakfast sausage. No water on table.

I would have liked more hot protein such as bacon and sausage each day. Also, hot scrambled eggs replaced regularly would be good. And perhaps 2 cooks preparing the fresh eggs/omelets,there was always a line when I was there. The granola/yogurt items were very good and so we’re the pastries.Also enjoyed the fresh salsa and guacamole. The waiters were very helpful.

Long multiple hour wait for room availability. Eventually brought forward from 15:00pm to 13:30pm with the option that I did not exercise of paying a considerable additional fee.if I had known that they had empty rooms but would not give them out for an 11.00am arrival I would have chosen another hotel in the area instead. There was no assistance for getting a taxi to the airport from the hotel either at reception or at the door. Thirdly the courtesy minibus goes to the airport hourly. Every half hour would be more convenient

The bed was too soft for my liking. The area is apparently not as safe as I thought, receptionist advised us to avoid walking to the city center as previous guests have had problems with robberies apparently.

The size of the room was quite descent. The balcony was nice. Swimming pool added value to my stay.

Overall we really enjoyed the facilities and the breakfast was amazing, so many options and great for us as vegetarians as there were a lot of options for us!
