Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaIt was a good value for the price. The inside of the building had a lot of character. It was also great to have a hot shower in an air conditioned room. It was one of the few hotels that I’ve stayed at in Guyana that offer hot showers.

United StatesThe property isn't the newest, but it's very well-kept. I would have appreciated shampoo in the bathroom in addition to soap.
The staff was very friendly and helpful--I wanted a SIM card for my phone, and they just gave me one (and I then I simply added credit online). The breakfasts were pretty yummy, the wifi was fast, and the bed was comfortable.

CyprusWe were asked if we wanted a shuttle from the airport and we said yes but there was no follow up. We then asked for a taxi pick up and we were told it would be arranged but no there was not follow up and we had to make our own arrangements on arrival. The pipe for the shower got unstuck - fortunately it was fixed quickly but we were in a rush to check out and the taxi was waiting.
Location was perfect, staff friendly, breakfast good, building very nice and room was large and comfortable. Appreciated the availability of coffee. The price was very good - it seemed to be that generally hotels were overpriced in Georgetown but this was a fair price.

United Statestoilet made a grumbling sound after every flush, housekeeping didn’t change the floor towel, night time front desk lady acted like she was bothered when we asked for help, loud frogs croaking every night outside the city, breakfast wasn’t ready at 7:30am like they said it would be, even though some guests got seconds at breakfast I was told “no” because they worried they didn’t have enough food, dated property
big room, good AC, it’s fine enough for a short stay on a budget

Canadawhen we got there they put us in a single room but I had booked a double room. my 83 year old mother in law had to sleep on the couch. when I went to the manager in the morning I had to insist she call her superior to get some money back on the room. in the end they did give us 24$ back but I shouldn’t have had to even ask. there was a note from the night staff telling her what had happened. when I went to complain in the morning she already knew about it but had done nothing. she started telling me that I had already gotten a discount cause I booked through booking.com. I told her that didn’t matter, what mattered is that because of their mistake and 83 year old woman had to sleep on a couch!!!
we always like the breakfast and the breakfast staff. they are always pleasant and try to accommodate

Great value for money. Relatively quiet. The breakfast included in price was amoung the tastiest authentic Guyanese during our 3 week stay I'm the country. Great seating areas to chill out. We had upstairs rooms (204) that had a pleasant adjacent balcony. Microwave and fridge in room. Staff were lovely. Felt secure and safe there. Supermarket (basic) 5 mins walk. Bank is 8mins walk away thsi felt safer than other we used before nearer the market as on road of the Parliament Cash from an ATM not accessible by visa card, carried out inside bank

Trinidad and TobagoThe Ogle airport, while convenient for travelers to Georgetown, is unsuitable for international flights and the airport facilities, immigration, customs and airport security are not very friendly or helpful and can be intimidating to travelers. The approach road is also in poor state. Our first surprise on arrival at El Dorado Inn about 3pm was that the Inn was not full-service, so we had to order in dinner, although complementary coffee, tea were available, with water, soft drinks and beer available for purchase. However, for diabetics, low sugar or sugar free beverages should be available for guests. While a microwave was provided in the room, its size and lack of microwave-safe plates made it difficult to reheat easily and safely. Suggest that maybe a common reheating and dining area be provided for guests to facilitate order-in meals requiring reheating and waste disposal.
Firstly the Inn should be advertised as a bed and breakfast, but in close proximity to a private taxi service and an excellent dining service within walking distance. Breakfast was very satisfying but limited in options and could benefit from low-salt options for health reasons. Other good lunch and dining option are available using the taxi services, but hotel staff need to be more familiar with some of these options, to better advise guests. While the hotel staff are quite friendly and helpful, some more training in communication skills can make it so much better for all. Location-wise, the Inn is in an excellent location for guests to travel to Ogle airport flights to the interior of the country, as well as to business in the city centre. Overall the hotel staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful as far as their knowledge allowed.

United StatesThis hotel was exactly what I was looking for. It's clean and comfortable and located in a central and safe section of the city. It may not look like much from the outside, but the inside is immaculately clean and well-kept. Each room has a bit of a different decor--I stayed in two different rooms over the course of my stay. The water is hot, the air conditioning is cold, and the bed is comfortable. The rooms have a little balcony to sit an watch the goings-on of the city, as well. There's a mini-fridge in each room to keep water or leftovers, too. There is 24-hour security onsite. Breakfast was included and was tasty each day. The hotel is an easy walk or taxi ride to any of the sights in Georgetown.
