Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandWe liked everything
The apartment was in a great location. It felt like a local neighbourhood but right beside the historical centre. Everything was within a ten minute walk. The apartment has every facility we needed and there was a small supermarket and a bakery across the street. Our host was very helpful. We enjoyed a wonderful week in Split

United StatesThe location was very short walk from the old city without the noise with easy access to everything. I love that the brother of the owner met us at our car and was nice enough to help us take our luggage to our room which was on the 3rd floor. Parking lot was 50 meters from the apartment. The apartment was very well equipped with everything, love that it had a washer/dryer. The 2 rooms were spacious ( our adult daughter got a room to herself ) and had comfortable queen sized beds. We were greeted with a platter of appetizers and bread and bottle of wine. Overall a great stay in Split.

A nice spacious apartment very close to Split old town. Parking not provided but was easy as it was at the end of the road. Parking a bit expensive but worth it to stay so close to old town. Host was very efficient with meeting us and responding to messages, and there was a nice welcome pack of cheese and meat etc. Would definitely recommend this apartment.

United KingdomWe had to live with Dutch subtitles on Netflix & the other channels - when we found them accidentally - were in German. We couldn't get the tvs in the bedrooms to come on at all. This may have been more to do with us than any other issue, but the owners couldn't suggest what to do while we were there & even my early-20s-more-tech-savvy daughters couldn't find a solution to the issue. If more than two of you want a shower in quick succession the hot water will probably run out. It's a tank system in the apartment which works well as long as you space out your washing turns! But sometimes this isn't practical so it's a small negative. Whilst there is a full length mirror in the hall, & on the wardrobes in the 2nd bedroom, there isn't a full length mirror in the 1st bedroom. In the 2nd bedroom the bed is listed as being able to be set up as a twin rather than a double. We requested this as our daughters would be sharing that room but when we arrived it was set up as a double. It was ok in the end though as the double beds are very large. There was no small chopping knife. Late at night you could hear a fair bit of shouting from the streets as people went home but I find if the air con is on the hum of the machine drowns a lot of that kind of thing out. There were some church or monastery bells that chimed every morning at 6.30am (and two other times during the day) to herald morning prayers and we got woken up a few times by this! You can hear footsteps in the apartment above. I am sure the persons in there were not as heavy footed as they sounded but it was a little annoying at times. Once the footsteps woke me in the small hours but I am a light sleeper & most hotels would be the same or worse. The apartment is on the second floor up a fair few steps which wasn't too bad (I felt fitter by the end of the week!) except when carrying luggage.
We stayed here for a week & the amount of facilities the apartment had was exceptional. Everything had been thought of from a sewing & first aid kit (complete with flexible spray plaster which I had occasion to use - very handy!), to dishwasher and washing machine capsules (it was a dryer too), all the pots & pans you could probably want, a good cooker (very efficient oven!), a toasting grill - I think - in the cupboard, a filter coffee machine, a big fridge freezer, a small dishwasher, shower gel and in the bathroom, enough loo rolls to last your entire stay, more than enough towels and shower mats. Having a second loo was also really useful. They welcomed us with three bottles of wine & some ham & cheese on a platter along with a loaf of bread, and patisserie cakes, although with two supermarkets within 5 minutes walk open till 9pm you would be hard put to be without food at any given time. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the wardrobes capacious (tho lacking enough hangers). There was a safe (although the apartment felt pretty secure so we didn't use it) and there was a rechargeable vacuum cleaner which we also used to help tidy up from time to time. The balcony was accessible from both bedrooms although during our stay it was too hot to sit out there during the day and we were nearly always out eating at a restaurant in the evening. The living room was large with a comfortable enough sofa and a table and five chairs, plus the small but perfectly formed kitchenette. The tv was extremely large and very good quality. It had access to Netflix and Amazon Prime and possibly other channels as well, but we had trouble with getting the tv to work properly. The shower was very efficient and there was a metal basket to put your toiletries in. Everything was very modern in the apartment and extremely clean. External blinds confused us at first then we got the hang of them and they were very efficient.

United StatesThe apartment was very, very nice and clean. It had smart TVs which was a huge blessing to my teens after a full day of exploring. It had a washer AND dryer. There was a delicious meat and cheese platter waiting for us. And the beds were so comfortable! The location of the apartment was perfect! you can walk anywhere in Old Town or Diocletian’s Palace in just a few minutes. Restaurants and a supermarket are super close. and it is about a 15 minute walk to the ferry. Hopefully if we come back we can stay here again.

NetherlandsWe liked everything. The place is good value for money. A very small suggestion is to make sure the tv’s are connected to the internet, so that it is possible to use streaming services. Maybe they were, but we couldn’t get it to work. And we would have liked a toaster, although we managed to ‘toast’ the bread with the grill.
The apartment is very well located in the center of Split. It is small, but very clean and it had everything that we needed for our stay (coffee, tea, milk, bread, dishwasher tablets, laundry detergent etc). The airconditioning works well, which was important for us, because temperatures soared during our stay. The owner met us in front of the apartment when we arrived and provided us with a card for the parking place almost in front of the apartment. He also helped us carry up our luggage. The apartment is on the second floor and there is no lift. We very much appreciated the welcome gift of two carafes of home-made schnapps, a bottle of wine, Fanta for the kids and a large plate of local cheese and sausages. We felt very welcome.

United StatesI am not sure there was anything to dislike. Location was perfect. Apartment was well equipped and very clean. The host provided us with everything we needed including recommendations for restaurants and sites. If I had a suggestion...a toaster! We like toast in the morning but again that is so ridiculously picky on our part. Again, perfect stay!
Lovely large apartment with all the amenities. Two nice size bedrooms. 1.5 baths plus washer dryer combo. Easy walking to all the attractions and a wonderful area for restaurants. Market and ATMs close by. Our host was absolutely wonderful!. She even gave us a lovely parting gift including honey from her bees. Thank you!!! Highly recommend this apartment!

the location is perfect, it is just near the old town, 10 minutes to the seaside. Also, since it is not exactly inside the center, restaurants are so much cheaper and authentic in this area ! we had a great great time in this apartment, so clean and comfy, especially the bed. they have plenty of room in the bedroom, a huge closet and the vanity is perfect for girls, thanks for the welcome drink and cakes too, they are very delicious:)
