Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaProperty advertised having a pool, the pool is shared with another hotel where the pool is located. The information is misleading. Gentleman at front reception who appeared head of staff was quite arrogant and did not welcome his patrons well.
We loved our stay at Maistra Mlini. Location was perfect, clean and picturesque. There are several restaurants within walking distance, we had cocktails each evening at Basilico and ate dinner which was beautiful. We were served by Lazar, this is why we returned every night for cocktails. Thank you Lazar….your service is outstanding. Breakfast was lovely and most staff friendly.

United KingdomSome facilities (pool, gym) are shared with a few other hotels. The gym is in another hotel and there is no ventilation so it’s like an oven in the summer. Almost impossible to get a sunlounger or umbrella if you don’t get your towel down on one before breakfast.
Beautiful waterfront location, extremely close to the airport. Good links to Dubrovnik. Oleander had amazing lunch options for affordable prices.

Everything was fantastic: this is one of the best hotels I've ever visited. The staff were brilliant: their level of service and politeness is beyond expectations. This is related to maids, receptionists, waiters and all the other teams in the hotel. The room is comfortable and spotlessly clean - it was always a pleasure to be there. The location is wonderful - you have a sea view, a private beach nearby, swimming pools and cafes. The food is great and tasty, and the breakfast is wonderful. Wi-fi in the room is perfect. So this was a very pleasant stay for our family.

United KingdomWe only were able to sit at the pool for two days out of seven as people places towels on the beds at 8am and a lot of the beds lay empty for hours. Nothing was done about this at the hotel. The alternative to the pool was the beach and beds were 7 euro and umbrellas 6 and as it’s a pebble/stone beach you need a bed.
Lovely hotel, spacious rooms, clean and staff were welcoming and an asset to the hotel.

Everything was great. The hotel is very clean and modern. Helpful and friendly stuff. Great choice of delicious food for breakfast. Dubrovnik is only 12 minutes away by taxi. There is a small supermarket 1 km away and big supermarket about 1,5-2 km away.

I am so happy we went with this hotel! It is in a small town, it is very clean and has extremely nice staff. Getting to Dubrovnik was a breeze as the boats stop right next to the hotel. Great breakfast, nice food in the restaurants, quiet and relaxing. The beach is right next to the hotel, it was so convinient. But what makes the whole stay so special it the fact that this place has outsnading staff! It is a rare occurrence nowadays when all people that work for one hospitality place are so nice and helpful. We fell in love with Croatia due to the natural and historical beauty but staying at this hotel definitely was a great part of it. Thank you for making our stay so awesome!

United KingdomAt the price and higher level room you would expect a dressing gown and slippers. A'la carte restaurant - pizza restuarant opposite affliated to hotel - have a policy of closing out checks every time a waiter finishes their shift, sort of ruins your evening and if you weren't charging to your hotel bill you could experience significant card transaction costs.
Location amazing, staff fantastic. Would definitely go back.

United StatesThey need better signs directing you to the property. The shower was a nightmare. They have a small glass wall instead of a door or a curtain. So, you need to huddle up to the one end of the tub, (the end of the tub with a slant, there is about one foot of space.)to try and keep water from spraying onto the floor from the showerhead. The seals under the glass are also bad, so a lot of water is leaking under there also onto the floor.
The location was perfect, halfway between Old Town Dubrovnik and Cavtat. In a quiet area which had a stream with ducks and also a small pebble beach. We had a view of the Adriatic Sea from our balcony. The hotel has three restaurants on their property. We had the pizza in the restaurant out front that was very good. The bed was comfortable and the A/C worked great.
