Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyIt would be better for tourists to receive more information on how to get to the hotel via public transport, since the area is not so well connected to the other cities.
The hotel is very close to the lake park (entrance 2), so we just walked to it. It offers a good selection of the typical dishes from the area.

HungaryWe thought there will be a small fridge in the room, minibar, or something. Unfortunately we didn't have any. Because in the park there are no restaurants we should bring our own food. For this a fridge in the hotel room is very useful.
It was very close to the Entrance 2 of lakes.

United StatesConstruction/road work going on outside so it was noisy until nighttime. Food is pretty bad, worst breakfast buffet in our two week trip of the Balkans.
You stay here for the location, not the comfort or food. Front desk staff very friendly.

UkraineWe got the Lakeside room, but unfortunately, it doesn't mean you see the lake from your room. we were at least hoping it would be quiet, but alas - the construction work started at 7-30 AM daily, and we couldn't enjoy a long sleep.
The location and breakfast were truly amazing! Also, there is a simple gym and sauna available. A nice bonus is a gift shop in the hotel.

EstoniaDesignated smoking areas, it's very uncomfortable for a non-smoker to smell the smoke everywhere; The whirpool looked very worn and only one part of it was functioning
The location is perfect if you want to visit Plitvička Jezera, you can get straight to the park from the hotel. The staff is very friendly and forthcoming

The hotel is next to (200m) ticket counter of Plitvice Jezero entrance 2. Super convenient. The staff was friendly and helped store luggage while I was away checking out the lakes. Room is fine, a bit old but it's a old building. The restaurant was good, the lady who served food was excellent, smiling and very attentive.

United StatesThere are two separate dinning rooms: An a la carte dinning room and a buffet dining room. I stayed at the hotel for three nights and had dinners at the hotel for all three. The first night I dined in the a la carte room. I had a vegetable soup and a fettuccine chicken dish. I had no idea if it was an off night, or if the kitchen staff couldn't be bothered because it was a slow night (I was the only one dining there), but the food was bad. I had better tasting soup from a soup can bough from a supermarket. The chicken was definitely not made fresh and at one point I was worried that one piece might not have been cooked throughly at all. I didn't complain about it, but I couldn't get away from that dining room fast enough. To be fair, I did notice more people dining in the a la carte room the next two nights. So if the food was consistently bad then I don't think anyone would've been eating there. For the next two nights, I dined in the buffet dinning room and had a 100% much better dining experience; The food tasted freshly cooked and there were a lot of varieties. Definitely worth the 20E buffet price. I wish there was a more convenient way from get from Entrance 2 to Entrance 1. There was a shuttle, but it didn't start running until after 8. The park opened at 7 when I was there, and I wanted to get into the park early to avoid the crowd. The bathroom could definitely use an update.
The location was excellent for viewing the Upper Lake early in the morning. The breakfast buffet and the dinner buffet were very good with a lot of food choices. The room was decent. If you stay at the hotel for more than one night then you can get a complimentary pass to the park for one of those days. I wish this option was mentioned in the guide books, because I had already bought a two days pass before arriving in Plitvice. I actually ended up visiting Plitvice for 3 days :)
