100% Retro, and in some cases not in a good way (bathroom sealing, taps the taps are dripping, etc.) , but for this price and half pension, I cannot complain at all.

But a big shame to the the Chef of the Hotel , which was written to have 3 stars , to have in the room 314 so horrible turn off table !! I think it doesn’t cost so much money just to make it visual outside renewed. And there is any Hair Dryer in the rooms. In every 3 stars Hotel it’s like “ must have”.

The staff was super great!! It seams that only the team of the personal takes care of the reputation of the hotel- especially was very professional the receptionist Sara, and the all servants in the restaurant, who deserve 5 stars of their working. The meals were also very delicious . It’s out of the question! The cleaning was also each day on time. Thanks to the personal for their trying to do the vacation great ! 5 Stars to the Staff!

Poor choice of food, specially for alergies on dairy products. The food was the worst quality. You could see in fruits they were spots on grapes, for example, just before throwing away the fruit, we had it served.

The TV didn't work for half of my time there. Reported to the reception and was told that it was already reported to the operator and that they had no idea when it would be fixed. The church bell ringing at 6 AM in the morning waking up the whole hotel, but the hotel description said it was adjacent to a monastery.

Hotel has stuck in the early 90’s. It is deserving 2 stars, nothing more. Furniture and design hasn’t been changed since. Hotel staff are not interested in work. Everything is so dated. Althoug it has a great potential, since it is part of the Castel and Monistary. Somehow no one is interested in re-design it.

Location is great, at the beach frontline and close to the city center.

personally I love the church bells. one thing I live about travelling is the culture: church bells, calm to prayer etc. church bells may annoy some people but they can stay elsewhere

absolutely beautiful. a fascinating historical building beautifully maintained. the adjacent church and park are stunning. the room was small but very well arranged. decor was lovely. breakfast room was sunny and the food was good. a cafe nearby was very good value and attract. the small beach in front of the hotel was ideal.

Coffee is tragic :) only with almond milk+1 sugar. Bath needs some xtra cleaning as sealing is old. But clean. Nothing else.

Dinner, Breakfast was really nice, wide range of different food from meet, fish, vegetables, desert, fruits. Close to city, beach. Nice people, Friendly. Beer and wine in price and really good.

I have only one suggestion - would be nice if there is a small shower/rest room - to have a chance to take shower and prepare for the transport after last day spent on the beach, when we were already checked out from our room in the morning.

Breakfast and supper was wonderful, we were really happy to stay in Hotel Kastel. We were in family room with 3 beds, was big and clean. No air con, but we did not need it at all.

1) Receptionist - older man was not nice, and willing to answer our question. 2) Church - we were not notified that some rooms are located directly in church/by church and each morning at 6AM we will be woken up by bell ringing. 3) Fridge/AC - rooms are missing basic equipment for 3 stars hotel, e.g. fridge on room, non AC is accpetable if fridge available.

Hotel advertised parking, cannot be booked or guaranteed - basically they don’t have parking. There was no toilet paper in my room on arrival. The room did not get cleaned in the 4 nights I stayed there, although I was promised it would be each day I asked at reception. I paid extra as my dog stayed with me, which is normally understandable, but it makes no sense when the room isn’t getting cleaned at all. The rooms are HOT. There is no air conditioning, no air flow, and only a small fan. The beds are very uncomfortable, and the room is tiny. There was a bath, but this did not have a plug so could not be used. Drinking water isn’t provided, and no advice given on how to get it, the room doesn’t even have a small fridge - but I found out a few days in that I could use the fridge in the office behind reception, a little awkward when staff are working on the office, but better than nothing… my dog eats fresh meat. I tried the breakfast once, it was awful food, I didn’t go back. In the end, I was very happy to leave.
