Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomJust felt communal bathrooms could be checked more regularly. Would have liked to have clean towel by pool each day.
Pool area was fantastic, private beach perfect. Rooms immaculately clean with good view.

United KingdomThe restaurant choices for vegetarians were very poor. The dishes were really quite tasteless. I opted for the lunch choices in the outdoor restaurant and they were much better.
The location was perfect. The room was a nice size and we're so glad we opted for a sea view with balcony. The beach was very close by too. The spa treatments were great. A special treat!

FinlandSome of the spa functions were out of order (the two outdoor jacuzzies) hopefully they'll be in use for next year season.
The views of the hotelroom was gorgeous, great swimming pool and plenty of sunbeds. Private beach which comfortable sunbeds and shower. Hotel staff was polite and helpful, all from the reception, cleaning staff as well restaurant staff. Absolute relaxation at the spa, pool above the hotel with the same beautiful sea view. Finnish sauna and infra sauna available. Little outdoor gym above the spa. Excellent dishes at the restaurant Dalmar restaurant. There's a room dedicated to the hotel's and the island's history, very faschinating - just thinking about the logistics building such complex on an island has been challenging! Hotel is at the "end" of the Lopud bay so you are secluded. Own pier if you need a private ride.

United KingdomThere was a huge group of young Americans there (Surf Yoga and Beer)… they were quite intrusive and loud… also the jets in the whirlpool did not work… none of the jet skis worked and reception was cold.
The location was super and the cleaning staff as well as Nadia at concierge super helpful. The trip organisers needed a bit of prompting but then sorted things out.

United KingdomNot necessarily ‘didn’t like’ but a few ‘could be better’. The quality of the beach bar food wasn’t great, it could be vastly improved. (Eg in the salad nicoise the tuna was as hard as dog chews and you’d swapped the French beans for kidney beans 🥴)The sun beds by the pool could be upgraded to be more comfortable. The pool could offer an ‘at sunbed’ service. There could be a towel swap service. Breakfast is good but could be amazing if you had a chef cooking fresh eggs and omelette.
Amazing location! The views are incredible. It’s a short walk to some lovely bars and restaurants. The atmosphere is chilled and relaxed. Beautiful! The spa is amazing and highly recommend.

GermanyThe quality of food has to be better. We went to the Gala dinner on 15.08. and had the fish menu. The tuna tartare was not good. The main course was tasty but nothing surprising compared to what you would expect from such a nice hotel. We paid around 214€ for two. The following day we discovered the Villa restaurant, it is approx. 5-6 minutes far from the hotel, on the sea side. We paid approx. the same money but it was like in a Michelin restaurant. The way they cook, they present their food, they serve…etc. you see that they put passion and love! Most of waiters at La Baja restaurant are seasonal workers, I can understand that but they should be better trained and someone should tell them to smile!
The property is nice! The island is amazing! You can go for a long walk, discover ancient churches, enjoy a drink next to the sea…etc. The hotel uses a public beach as if it was their private beach. The beach and the sea are very pleasant during the week but on weekends it gets quite crowded. The travel agency of the hotel offers many boat trips including the boat tour to the old town In Dubrovnik, it is a kind of sunset tour, it is just awesome, we would recommend it a s must-do! The pool, the live music at La Baja restaurant next to the sea and the wellness center are great! The staff at the reception and the travel agency are helpful. We booked a junior suite with jacuzzi, the room was decorated with taste and the view from the balcony was exceptional!!!

United KingdomThere was a lack of information about the facilities in the rooms eg mealtimes, sports facilities, etc We would have preferred that there were definite no smoking areas clearly identified. We were in room 508 and our neighbours in 510 smoked on their balcony and it blew into our balcony meaning we did not wish to sit on it. Likewise at breakfast on the balcony of the scarlet restaurant it was difficult to get away from smokers.
Very comfortable with friendly staff.. Spa facilities were excellent, the staff definitely knew their job tge massages were lovely

SerbiaBreakfast is very poor and no variety for a 4star hotel. Generally hotel needs renovation and upgrading of facilities. Also the concept of towels not being given at the beach but rather in the room and that you have to chase cleaning staff for beach towels is not very user friendly. Also the fact that mini bar doesn’t exist is very strange.
Excellent location and view!

United KingdomThe reception seemed to be short staffed and the staff there distracted. We weren’t told when or where to have breakfast or about any of the hotel’s restaurants or other facilities and the girl who asked us to wait in the seating area couldn’t remember us five minutes later. It was just not the standard you would expect from such a good hotel. At checkout a boat transfer had been added to my bill in error. That said, we were able to check into our hotel an hour early for which we were very grateful.
As a family we loved our stay in the hotel. The pool, beach, reception area and restaurant/bar were great with fantastic views. We had a junior suite with sea view and while the room could have been bigger, the balcony was huge. We stayed for two nights and wish we’d booked for longer.

Very friendly and helpful staff, fantastic view from the room, beautiful surrounding, great breakfast, very good pickup/transfer service. The litttle beach of the hotel was never too crowded, very relaxing.

IrelandLafodia is definitely more expensive than the rest of the island, and I would encourage people to visit other restaurants on the island (Restaurant Nikica and Restaurant Obala especially). While La Baja was lovely for lunch, we went to the main restaurant for dinner one night, and we found the food to be overpriced and not very good. Drinks both at La Baja and at the pool were quite expensive also. The pool also doesn't have any parasols to sit underneath, which meant we had to follow the shade around. Similarly, some days at the beach, we were told to put them down due to high winds (this was understandable as a health and safety risk, but it was an inconvenience). The room and facilities were very clean mostly but there were some small details lacking in the room. We noticed the rim of the shower looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. It was a small detail but was noticeable.
The location is incredible. Lopud is such a beautiful place, and the whole stay felt like a dream. Lafodia is situated just on the waterfront, with its own mooring and beach. It is easy to access from Dubrovnik. I believe the hotel offers private transfers, but we got the ferry with Jadrolinija. It was less than 5 euro each way and took about 45 minutes. It is quite regular also and we visited other islands one day of our stay on it. Our room was very comfortable. We had a lovely view and the balcony was lovely. The bed was comfortable, and the aircon was excellent. The room was cleaned daily, and the sheets changed. They also provided beach towels alongside bath towels, and these were plentiful. The staff were very professional and helpful. Anything we needed was arranged promptly and discreetly. There were a number of restaurants on site, but it is also less than a kilometre to the town where there are plenty of fabulous options. We liked the Baja beach bar for lunch when we spent the day at the beach and the food was tasty and with good value. Breakfast was included and was filling and tasty. The views were amazing from the terrace, and it was an excellent way to start the day. The hotel has many facilities and we didn't have time to use them all in our week long stay. The beach was stunning and very comfortable and safe, while the pool was clean and refreshing. They both had very comfortable recliners, and there were plenty available. They offer many activities and options for excursions, such as kayak rental, boat trips, etc. We did the dubrovnik bynightt tour. We really enjoyed this, and the boat was clean and felt safe. The length of time in Dubrovnik was also perfect. Overall, we had an amazing stay, and I would definitely recommend Lopud and Lafodia to anyone who would like to visit near Dubrovnik. We will definitely return.

FranceSpa doesn’t work properly (seems it is a continuous issue due to previous reviews from other customers - jacuzzi not working, steam bath not working), additionally not all the staff is professionally trained, it’s really negative point, not focus on customer satisfaction.
