Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAir Conditioning was intermittent. Only one restaurant was open for the duration of our stay. The coffee machine at breakfast kept breaking down and there was only one machine so people were always queueing.
They upgraded us to a suite as a result of the initial problems with the air conditioning.

United KingdomAttention to detail a little lacking. Pool area seat cushions haphazardly available, and parasols not opened for guests to provide shade. Main pool a bit cool…. Beach could do with regular raking and cleaning ( wall of shingle to get up out of sea, and previous days plastic drinking glasses not collected )
Great Location, excellent breakfasts, crystal clear sea water. Quiet room and good bathroom. All things COVID catered for, free masks, sanitiser dispensers etc.

United KingdomRating would be higher but many things were closed. I.e. restaurant/bar and some spa facilities ( the latter was understandable).
The spa and views are incredible. Quite/very good breakfast too.

United KingdomSome facilities closed due to low demand because of Covid. The island is small and most restaurants are "touristic". A few were good though (recommend Dubrovnik and The Villa). Breakfast is mediocre at best.
The facilities that were open were good and clean. The rooms are nice and spacious. Pools are nice. Beach is clean. Staff is very helpful and smiling.

RussiaService was not corresponding with 4 star hotel at all. Room is nice, fresh renovation, but terrible towels, no change of bed sheets in 10 days if stay, no bottled water or mini bar in the room, poor room service. Hotel is not clean in common areas (especially floor and carpeting ). No gym in reality ( they put 2 trainer mAchines in the open air and presented this as a gym) at least you have to add towels, wAter and more equipment.
Location, view, hotel design, food in the restaurant, good spa

GermanyTwo of the three restaurants are closed in August. Breakfast buffet was a chaotic mess and food not tasty. Staff at the beach bar VERY unfriendly, closing the kitchen randomly each day, sometimes one while hour before official end of service hours.
Clean rooms with awesome view, perfect location at the end of the cove. Friendly receptionists and good organization around beach and pool.

CroatiaNot enough staff. The staff is really kind, except the one in the Exquisite bakery. But I think there should be more staff in order to decrease waiting time in the buffet restaurant for cleaning tables and beach caffe to order a drink.
The hotel is really nice and clean. The view is beautiful. Hotel beach is also realy nice. Room is cozy and spacious.

United KingdomThis is a nice modern hotel, with private beach , clear sea, nice seaview from our 7th floor room. We were HB, and for lunch there are like 10-15 restaurants to go, 2 markets to buy water, food. Nice path for walking (harbour, Sunj beach, ). We were looking for calm, relaxing place and this is it. If missing attractions, ferry will take you for 6 euro return to Dubrovnik Gruz Harbor (bus to old city 10mins). Return 8pm with magic sunset ferry trip (1h).

UkraineThe worst part of this hotel is transfer, absolutely horrible for a big price. When I first checked in I had to wait 50 mins for the boat at night. But that was OK, sometimes it happens. But when I left, I numerous times gently asked Helena to organize a buggy and 3 times she confirmed that she will and it will be waiting for us near the shore. As a result we had to lift 4 big bags up to the hill at a 30 degrees. I'd recommend not to organize transfer at all instead of making it a suffering story. Transfer costs 100 euro one side :( maybe its a normal price, but at least make it more organized
Perfect location, I really enjoyed the calmness of Lopud. The beach is awesome. The staff was really nice, even though I had minor problems with cleaning, but I guess it's because they are understaffed due to Covid. Breakfast was good, dinner was perfect. I'd like to highlight that reception, restaurant, cleaning and beach staff is doing their best. So thanks.

United KingdomLopud and Lafodia sea resort is a great destination for a quiet beach holiday, however, it may become boring, if You spend too much time in there. The island is rather small and though it offers most of the usual activities (hiking, kayaking, renting a yacht or jet skiing) it is not on the main ferry waterway, so if You're out to explore Croatian islands, You will need to travel to Dubrovnik and then take a ferry to Your preferred destination. The island is a little remote, which has its advantages and disadvantages at the same time. My recommendation would be to definitely visit it for 3-4 days and have a relaxing time there before heading on to Dubrovnik or any other Croatian destination. Even though I mentioned that the staff was excellent, there was a bartender who seemed rather odd. He did not seem to care a lot or simply could not understand half he was being told, hence he added a pinch of unnecessary bitterness to this otherwise sweet and tasty holiday.
Great resort with tremendous service. Staff is very friendly and attentive, everybody speaks great english, so communication is not an issue. It takes some time to reach the resort from the ferry port, however, it is worth the walk. Private beach offers the ability to relax and enjoy the sun or the warm Adriatic sea almost in private. The room was spacious and the view - amazing. You can enjoy a sunset whilst sipping on a glass of wine.

The hotel is a perfect escape on the lovely island of Lopud. We have been visiting the island since 2011 and it feels relaxing from the moment you arrive. The staff in the hotel are exceptional and do everything they can to make your holiday special. Alexandra who looked after us at breakfast always had a smile on her face. The breakfast was an enjoyable start to the day with a good choice of food and brilliant views of the sea from the outside balcony. In the evening dining on the edge of the sea at La Bala was a great experience with a good choice on the menu and good quality food. Everybody in the hotel are very friendly and we had dinner on our last evening with friends we had met the previous year. The room was very comfortable and had everything that you needed for a relaxing and enjoyable hoilday break. We are booking for next year and counting the days to be back on the special Island of Lopud.
