Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomDouble bed is two single beds pushed together and I had a nasty habit of rolling down the gap as the mattresses had a habit of sliding apart. TV doesnt carry netflix or similar so needed to lash up a signal feed from my laptop which was exciting. Breakfast offered at 20 euro per head per day is steep for a guesthouse and marginally higher than what's on offer in town. These are easy fixes and shouldn't deflect attention away from what is a superb facility. Just needs a bit of a tweak to land 5 stars.
Location is amazing. The terrace, lounge and rooms are superb. 5 mins walk away from the old town and 150m from the town's main car park are difficult to fault.

United StatesThe room and grounds were beautiful. The hostess was friendly and helpful. She offered us coffee and croissants even though we hadn't signed up for breakfast. I liked being a short distance from the center; quiet but not a bad walk to the center. We were upgraded to a larger room which was beautiful and spacious.

United StatesThe main entry door was a tad finicky...sometime it worked on the first try, sometimes the 10th.
We had a complimentary glass of wine on arrival. Mimi was very informative. Breakfast could be provided, but we skipped that, a bit pricey. Mimi did tell us about a market and bakery a few minutes from the apartment, which we enjoyed. Shopping with the locals and getting fresh baked croissants was fine with us.

Amazing stay at the Villa Anica. Mimi, our host, was so warm and caring. She made sure we were well accommodated with whatever we needed. The Villa is centrally located in Pile, just a 5-10 minute walk or so into Old Town. Our room was big and very comfortable. The bed was the most comfortable we had in our stay throughout Croatia. We will miss the Villa Anica!

HungaryThe desire of every host is to make their guests feel at home, but not everyone is able to do so. Mima, the owner of Villa Anica, does it very well, with simplicity and naturalness. Thank you Mima, we will definitely see you again.

United KingdomThere was nothing we didn't like, it was a great stay. Just be aware it's outside of old town, so if you don't want to do the steps in and out then you need to stay somewhere in the heart of old town. We found it manageable and good justification for all the gelato...
Villa Anica is a beautiful property, set just outside old town - it's really spacious, plenty of outside sitting with beautiful views, really welcoming atmosphere and overall a brilliant accommodation. With only three rooms it feels really homely and the property has some really interesting history. Mimi the host was fantastic, so friendly and always willing to help - her knowledge of Croatia was invaluable and she really helped us shape our trip. We visited Montenegro and Bosnia Herzegovina also, and she knew so much about the countries and where to go - including best times to avoid the busy borders - her insight really helped us. Really lovely lady.

AustraliaVilla Anica was a stunningly beautiful place to stay. The location was fantastic, perfectly quiet with a view of the water and fort, just a short walk into the main attractions at the old town. The rooms were lovely with a huge bathroom. Mimi, our host, thought of absolutely everything. She gave us a lovely wine on arrival and some delicious local chocolates on departure. She cooked us breakfast every morning (excellent omelettes and lovely cheeses, meats and veggies as well as pastries, toast, cereals, juice, fruits, yoghurt etc). Mimi helped us organise everything we needed for our trip including a day on a sailing boat, car transfers to the airport, restaurant recommendations and helping us find a laundry service. She was the most wonderful host! The garden is lovely to sit in and relax with a gorgeous view if you want some quiet time after a big day of sightseeing and there was a lovely sitting area indoors (but we spent our whole time outdoors in the garden because it was so lovely). We can't wait to come back and stay again! :)
