Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsAs said.... it is not a modern hotel, it is a farm, a working farm, and that means not everything is minimalistic. We thought is was charming
We stayed in a nice big room. Up front i asked for a wheelchair accesible room. There is sand outside, and 1 step inside the hotel. This is the only step. After this it was accesible. The room was spacious, the bathroom perfect even with assistance in the shower we fit, Everything was clean, however the hotel is kind of messy, like staying with your grandma. On the plus size it was very cheap, and the breakfast is huge and tastes amazing. Stay for diner, the owners mother cooks and she knows how to Cook like your grandma, you are not leaving with an empty stomach and everything is fresh from their own farm.

RomaniaNothing particular!
The location is really wonderful and picturesque, in the middle of nature. My son was happy to see his first hare on a field nearby, he played with a calf and got friendly with the family dog. Food was excelent and the welcoming attitude of the hosts, both brothers and their mother, was really to be thanked for. We felt great there. Sleeping area is away from the main farmhouse, in a peaceful setting, three two-rooms apartments with one bathroom each I guess and a small kitchen. Only complaint was the hardness of the mattress (my wife was happy about it - so here we have mixed comments :)).

Very friendly hosts, who helped us in the best possible way, as we had a small "emergency". Very good (grandma cooks!) food and breakfast. Couldn't have been nicer. Highly recommended.

United KingdomThere was nothing to dislike
This beautiful Thatched farmhouse is situated away from the hustle and bustle about one mile down a forest road. Inside it has painted walls and tiled or wooden floors. There are lots of interesting objects displayed on the walls including pictures of the cattle from the farm. The hosts were wonderful, welcoming us warmly and provided tasty and ample traditional food, mostly produce from the farm.

RomaniaOnly the owner speaks english, hard to understand them sometimes, really rough road to get there, a lot of sand, don't go with a small car. There is nothing around, you are in the middle of nowhere, the meals are usually meat with meat, very few vegetables.
Nice farm, lots of animals, traditional food cooked by them, also the decorations are good.

United KingdomA cockroach in the shower, but then you are living in the country!
Warm hospitable welcome from the owner (who I might add spoke perfect English!) and his Mum. All considering we booked a couple of hours before our arrival as our journey from England to Greece hadn’t gone to plan. A traditional Hungarian experience in a very remote farmhouse, one we won’t forget. Home-cooked food and cold beer in the fridge. Couldn’t believe our Sat Nav actually found it!!

RomaniaThe access is pretty difficult. The closest tarmac road is at least 5, maybe 6 km away and the country road is dramatic... If you don't have a SUV can be problematic. Luckily, it wasn't a rainy day or I couldn't get out of there. It was my first time there and I wish I could return, but (I strongly hope!) not on the same access roads (there are two of them, very sandy, both in the same poor condition).
The breakfast was excellent, some of the products being sourced by the pension itself. The staff is excellent, even the owner doesn't speak English quite well (he speaks German). The location is great, in the middle of the Hungarian "puszta". Horses, cows, dogs, you name it, they're all there. Also fresh air, (the forest is all around you) and even a lake in the neighborhood.

BelgiumThe access road is kinda bad. But that's no real problem. Also there is an easier road then the gps recommends that is shorter.
This place is special. It looks more like a farm from the outside and the common area is not very special. The room however is very nice! The people here are very friendly, when I explained to the cook that I do not eat meat she prepared her special secret dish that she worked on for years to perfect. The meals are large and you cannot eat it all because they offer a lot. I also met the neighbor who was a nice guy and was invited to his house very close. I had a nice evening with him. I was here with a dog and he was allowed everywhere and could run around freely. This is a nice place if you truly want peace and quiet and nothing around.
