Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MalaysiaProbably should’ve lift, the room is too small but it’s ok for 1 night. The air conditioner I don’t know if it works but thanks because the weather was good so we just ignore the air conditioner and open the window instead.
The location is near to the city centre. The breakfast was good. Toilet was clean.

United KingdomBreakfast was ok, but could be laid out a little better - too spread out over the available space……
Friendly staff, even though we had technical issues matching our booking with the hotel computer system, the staff member did a great job, kept apologising for the delay, etc and we got it sorted.

United Kingdomit is over 20 years since we visited- the hotel is a bit shabby and could do with a face lift- but it is cheap to stay at. We booked a room for 4 which turned out to be 2 connected rooms with 2 bathrooms. We had a view over the minaret which was great but there was not much space in the room. There are also a lot of stairs in the hotel which was fine for us but might not suit everyone.
The location is superb- so central and in front of the Minaret, you can walk everywhere. Breakfast was included in the price and was quite good. There was plenty to eat. When we went to the wine caves- our reason for visiting- the hotel organised taxis immediately and we were able to leave in 10 minutes. Besides the hotel over the road is a little chocolate/ coffee shop with fab marzipans and cakes. Their Sacher torte was better than in Vienna! When we stayed there were 2 teams staying for water polo training camp as there is a big water sports centre in Eger- the Hungarian under 16's and the Australian.

PortugalThis is a simple hotel with a simple but quiet room with no view. The location is right in the city center in the square with the famous minaret. The train station is about 30 minutes walking. There is a restaurant in the hotel where I had buffet dinner not expensive and nice breakfast. Wifi is good, staff is nice. There is no lift.

RomaniaThey tried to bill us before arrival even if it's mentioned that you have nothing to pay in advance. 2. The room (double) was under the roof, no air, hot, full of old furniture in bad condition. 3. The fridge was out of order (water inside and on the floor) 4. Found one hair on the sink in the bathroom, the sink faucet was rusty 5. Old towels in bad condition 6. Lights worked partially 7. Problems to close the door 8. The receptionists didn't say hello
The hotel is a filthy infection bomb. It's nothing you can appreciate there. 1. They tried to bill us before arrival even if it's mentioned that you have nothing to pay in advance. 2. The receptionists didn't say hello The biggest issue is the filth. The rooms are stinking. I've never imagined that this still exists in a European country. Booked 3 days, stayed 2, so hotels were booked because of the Eger wine fair but I wanted to get out after 2 minutes. It was a torture to stay there.

PolandThe interior looks older than it should, as it's definitely not properly taken care of. The towels, sheets and curtains are old. Room was literally dirty and stinky. The bathroom was definitely not cleaned properly, or even not cleaned at all. There was dust and water/dirt stains on facilities and hair dryer looked horrible, that You are afraid even to touch it! Also no parking space for guests and in front of the hotel there is only paid parking zone
