I loved every bit of this place. It has a very unique vibe. The common areas are nice and clean and very welcoming. The rooms and beds are basic and serve for a good night rest. The owner is a very warm and pleasant person. You get a code to the door so you can freely enter at any time, whatever your program is and there is fruit, coffee and thea available should you not think about buying your breakfast in time. Next time I come backpacking to Budapest, will for sure come here again❤️

I was speechless when I first entered the place, it's so authentic and beautiful. I love the theme of the place, its spirit fulfills every room. My little cozy room was in the attic, and I liked it very much. A fully equipped kitchen, and the facilities around the place make it a perfect place to stay.

Far from the center, but perfect for if you've arrived at kelenfold and need a night or 2 to wind down.

The only issue I had was that I booked the loft but I should have realized that it isn't ideal for people over 6ft tall and can be a little awkward to get in and out of

The ladies at reception were so lovely! Very warm and caring, always very attentive to any issues or questions I had. My luggage didn't arrive until late the next day after check in due to airline issue and they gave me a fresh shirt to wear as I didn't have any other clothes. Unparalleled hospitality, and I hope the universe looks after them the way they look after others.

The host was super helpful and also the staff at the receptionist desk. The interior design is pretty nice as well as the outer look of the house. Kitchen is well equipped and clean.

The only downside although minor was the location being outside the tourist area. That said, it was very convenient as a location for what I planned during my visit plus the public transport options were easily within reach to central Budapest.

Shantee House has been the most interesting and value for money destination I’ve stayed at over the years. The decor was unique, well thought out and quirky - a beautiful blend of artistic and architectural functionality.

Away from main attraction but its worth it to stay here as city is accessible public transport and the stop is just 5 mins aways from the hostel

Good communication with the owner. It has more facilities than some hotels. Very nice interior. I even turned out alone in a 4-bed dorm. The location was good for me catching an early bus from Kelenfold.

Amazing find! Shantee House ticked all the boxes for me (except perhaps location - 45 minute walk to the river but plenty of buses/trams. Ideal for me as 3 mins from my dentist). Friendly helpful staff. Clean comfortable dormatory. Convenient kitchen/dining room plus a lounge. Additionally there was a small balcony overlooking their beautiful zen garden/jungle (which also housed a Yurt!) I look forward to my next visit when I return to complete my teeth work.

Wasn’t an issue for me but you should know in advance the the house is pet friendly in case you have allergies etc
