Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAlthough the beaches within the resort areas were kept clean by the hotel staff, as with other islands in the region, it was sad to see plastic waste on some of the beaches around the island.
The service was impeccable, people were friendly, and the food was fabulous. We can't fault the resort staff.⁹

GermanyA truly fantastic place to relax, eat really well (don't miss the Eggs Benedict!), snorkel or hike around the island. Beautiful views and great design. We actually only wanted to stay 3 nights but were able to extend our stay - you won't want to leave here! There is a diving school at the Pearl Beach Resort, you are picked up directly from the beach at Amahelia, highly recommended! The staff at Amahelia are great, super friendly and incredibly helpful. Even with a medical problem, the manager was extremely helpful and competent - for hours and in the middle of the night! Thank you again for that! In my opinion, the best choice on Gili Asahan. Feels perfect at your place, we'll be back!

This was my favourite stay in the Lombok region . The staff here were absolutely delightful, with a shining star being Hendra in the restaurant, he was absolutely amazing. The food was also the best I had in Lombok. Every meal was delicious. I stayed in the pool villa and also the beachfront villa, both were lovely, clean, and had very comfortable beds. The pool area was so nice to relax in, and I also enjoyed the sun loungers on the beach. The property was very quiet and chilled, exactly what I was after. I would highly recommend this gem of a place!

NetherlandsPrices are a lot higher compared to the rest of Lombok. Which is fair, since its a tiny island and everything has to come from Lombok or Bali. But it’s good to know before you’re going
Very nice resort right on the beach. Location of Amahelia is the best on the island. The beds and shower are good. The staff is so nice, they do everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The pool is a big plus

We have traveled a lot, and this was definitely one of the best accommodations we had the opportunity to try. The combination of amazing service, cleanliness, calmness and the mood of the island itself allowed us to relax like never before. The possibility of renting a kayak and snorkeling equipment (included in the price) is great. We kayaked all the nearby islands. and not to forget: the kitchen was top! Also pool was nice and always clean.

AustraliaLocal 15 minute boat ride from Gili Gede (only option) seemed a little overpriced but it was still okay. Also would be a great idea to sell coral-safe sunscreen for us pasty white westerners. Bring earplugs if you’re concerned about noise from the local village roosters, although I slept through without (even though I’m a fairly light sleeper!).
This was a slice of paradise with some luxuries. The staff work incredibly hard (and long hours..) to make sure everything about your stay is comfortable and relaxing. It’s luxury but also homely. It’s the perfect mix of service without being intrusive. Cozy beds, lovely shower, perfect breakfast (without being totally over the top making you uncomfortably full like some a la carte hotels in the region..). Sipping cocktails by the beach or by the pool, with no agenda - fantastic! You really can’t go wrong with this hotel at this price point. The restaurant is really good and you can eat by the sea with the waves right there, or there’s a great Italian a 2 minute walk away. You can snorkel about a 10 minute walk down the beach at high tide. We also booked a snorkel trip and had massages as well (you need to book both of these the day before). We didn’t use the free kayaks/paddle boards, and we didn’t dive but if the hotel doesn’t do this there was diving advertised in the hotels next door. The hotel were great at communicating before our arrival. Best days to travel from Bali via boat using the only boat company going to nearby Gili Gede (Gili Getaway company) are Monday, Wednesday and Friday (Friday departs a little early though!). Return to Bali via boat is every day apart from Sunday. You can also organise a taxi with the hotel to Lombok airport and fly back to Bali.

ItalyThe only annoying thing is the presence of a noisy electricity generator, which depending on where your apt is located can be bothersome at night. I must highlight, however, that staff was super helpful when we complained about that, and offered us another apt located more far away from the generator.
Location amazing, super nice staff, no wifi in the apartment but only in the restaurant (yes, when you are in a paradise like Gili Asahan having no wifi is a Plus)
