Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsI made a 2-day 1-night visit to Bukit Lawang and the jungle with a colleague on short notice. We both had our own little cottage. Asim Paris Guesthouse arranged the transport to Bukit Lawang, the jungle tour, and the transport to Medan Airport. We enjoyed the dinner at the guesthouse. Also the breakfast with banana pancakes and fresh fruit was really nice. During the jungle tour with tour guides Bim(bo) and Martin we spotted a lot of Urangutans and other monkeys. Overall we had a short but very nice stay.

FranceI only stayed there one night after my trek but I really enjoyed my stay. The location is really great, the guesthouse is right on the river without being in the center of the city (and therefore the hustle and bustle). The managers and staff were very friendly and available. They even took me back by motorbike to my bus station :) The breakfast was fruity and good I definitely recommend this place !

TaiwanThe location. However, as I mentioned earlier, it's not a problem if you accept a ride from the staff.
The friendliest staff/host I've ever had. Yes, the location is far from the village, and it's scary and dangerous to walk back to the guesthouse alone at night. But don't hesitate to ask the host for a ride, they are always willing to help! Very good place to just relax and chill out.

DenmarkThe “house” is hot to sleep in at the night and you have to expect bugs in the room as it is in the jungle. The bed was okay, but not the best. Remember to bring your own hand soap as it’s not part of the room, but I’m sure the staff would give you some if you ask them.
The staff were really nice to us, and they tried to meet all our needs. One of the staff members called Dika helped us a lot and was so friendly. We booked a one day jungle trip through the hotel, and it was amazing. I would recommend everyone to do that. Our guide Easy was good and he had a lot of knowledge about the jungle. We forgot mosquito repellent, but Dika saved our trip by bringing it to us.

GermanyThere's actually nothing I didn't like. The only small "inconvenience" is that the restaurant is still under construction, so you have to take a 5 minute walk to the next guest house if you want to eat.
The guesthouse is in an amazing location, on the shore of the river. The rooms are cosy and have a nice terrace facing the river. Andy and his bother were very nice and helpful all the time. The banana pancakes for breakfast are delicious.

NetherlandsWhen we where there, the restaurant wasn’t finished yet since the place is quite new. The restaurant was almost finished, it only would take a few weeks to be done. We walked to the center to eat something, which was around 20 minutes walking from our apartment.
Very nice room and bathroom. We only stayed 1 night, but it was really nice. There was a mosquito net above the bed aswell. The room had a little balcony, and you could walk down to the river from your place. Friendly people that bring breakfast to your room in the morning.

SpainGreat place to stay in bukit lawang with new&bright clean simple bungalows next to the river. 1 km away, though, from town. Great staff and great attention from G&the rest of the team. They came to pick us up at the station, and provided us with everything we needed during our stay. Great trekking also, organized by them. Our guide, Arnold, even helped me to fix my shoes when they broke during the trek. I will definitely repeat in Asim Paris when I come back :)

SpainThis stay was an unbelievable experience! The location was great, because you are really in nature and the river is right next to it. We went on a 2-day trek and it was incredible to see an Orang-Utan mother and her baby! The guides were very funny and kind, I felt really comfortable. Another highlight was the BBQ we did together with live acoustic guitar music. Also we made the village tour where I learned how Tufo is made and the locals were all the friendliest people. The WIFI was working fantastically. It was the perfect get-away from the busy city life. I will definitely come again, thanks for everything.

FranceThe sound of motorcycles in the morning but you will wake up early for the trek anyway
This is a new place in Bukit Lawang everything was clean. They are building a restaurant, but in the meantime they serve your breakfast at your room. We received a very warm welcome by Andy who was our guide for the jungle trek. He taught us a lot of things about the wild life & was very kind and funny. We saw the orang outans and lots of different animals. We truly recommend this guesthouse and their guides.

Germanywe stayed there 5 days. sometime it sucked to walk every time 15 min into the village to get food.
the hotel is very good. it has no recommendations because it is new. but the location is so beautiful. it's directly on the river and very quiet. Directly in the town it is very loud and we wasn't able to sleep after 5 a clock, because of very loud motorbikes and the moscue. it is easy to walk in the town (15 minutes). the breakfast is very delicious and the rooms very good. Especially the guys who take care of the hotel Andy and Digga are amazing friendly. One day we asked them if it would be possible, to do a barbecue at the night and they can join us if they want. yes it was possible and they did so much for us. Andy went with us to a fresh fish and a vegetable shop to buy things. On this way he showed us a plastic Projekt of the village and cutted 2 fresh young coconuts from a tree in a garden. When we arrived back they did the fire and did barbecue for us. when everything was finished, we ate together and spoke a lot together. on the next day he drove us for free to the bus station and helped us there. So it was a very nice evening and we enjoyed our stay!

Germany-The whole guest house was still under construction (except for the bungalows) - No restaurant, therefore we had to walk through the dark jungle in the evening to get some food - The owner was a bit reserved
- The bungalows were nice - When the construction work is finished, the guesthouse might be quite cool
