How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Air Conditioner didnt work , needed re gassing ,then only worked one more day, needed replacing. very hot in room.
Location, Pool, Pool Bar, Breakfast, all great. Rooms were quiet.

It can get noisy from old man’s and hotel mexicola at night. But that isn’t really a hotel issue
The location is fantastic. Close to the beach and cafes. The breakfast is really good and the sun deck has loads of sun lounges

First we got a room that quite small dark but then they replace the room

The mattress was a little uncomfortable and probably due to be replaced.
Perfect location close to the action of Batu Bolong. Easy walking to the beach, restaurants and nightlife. Rooms are a good size and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

noisy at night from street. Paid for breakfast but very little to choose from as a vegan so i felt it was a waste. Some labelling would be handy.

The only thing I would say is that it would have been nice to have some flowers in the room, or even a bowl of fruit, something to make it look a bit more homely and special.
The location of the Aston Canggu Resort is second to none. A village feel to the immediate vicinity and so close the the beach and some fantastic Wahrungs and Beach Clubs.

The pool and view were very nice. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Walking distance to lots of massage places and shops. Food at the restaurant was good!

Room has no robe, ceiling dirty, shower head not functioning properly with loose head, missing iron, hairdryer too lousy

Ala carte dishes were okay, pasta with prawns I had was a bit dry No music channel or speakers to connect music to

Small gym, extremely noisy club nearby which you can literally feel the bass pounding the room until around 2am, obviously not entirely the hotels fault but if you book maybe ask for a room on the right hand side of the building as it seemed like the club was on the left towards the beach

We arrived late at night and there were a lot of drunk people in the area outside. Two men got in a fight and landed on our taxi, denting it badly.

The pool was beautiful but had no stairs into the pool so it was difficult for anyone with mobility issues.
Breakfast was excellent slots of great choices. Staff at breakfast were excellent as well.

Really friendly and welcoming staff. Amazing breakfast buffet with many options. Bed was very comfy with nice pillows. Great location in Canggu, close to beach and many places to eat and drink. We had an amazing stay.

The tv aerial was loose and kept losing connection. We thought it was the satellite, but then we met our neighbour and their tv did not cut out. We did inform staff of this issue when we were leaving. I am sure this issue would have been corrected prior if we had informed the hotel staff sooner.
The pool, the staff and the location. The buffet breakfast was also superb. Great choice of different nation's food but some food could have been kept a little more heated. Very obliging staff and super efficient.
