Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe rooms and bathrooms are basic, but didn’t except anything else in the jungle! So that’s not really a negative point ;)
We had the best stay there! The staff was so friendly and helpful!! ☺️ They helped us with everything we needed and organized the transfer, tours and the jungle Trekking for uns & we had the best time in the jungle with our guides Bob and Satya! The view from the restaurant and the veranda in the room to the jungle und the river is so great! We could see also an Orang Utan from there!

The Aussie’s guesthouse is ideally located, in a quiet place along the river. Ideally located to enjoy swimming, explore the village or start a little trek along the river. The same team is also made of « Jungle professionals » and will accompany you, may you wish to discover the orang-outans’ habitat. We found our 3 days trek absolutely amazing. Team is simply fantastic and will do its upmost best to make you feel at home, as well. The room was beautiful and very spacious

Fabulous location, very large room, spacious balcony with unspoilt views, comfortable bed, kettle provided, wonderful dining room with very good food and above all excellent staff —extremely helpful and attentive, friendly and just absolutely lovely. Incredible value for money and I would definitely recommend it to everyone. Special thanks to manager Kedito who was always very quick to respond to messages before our arrival and was able to arrange my hike at very short notice. Also massive thanks to Satire for always being there with a smile and for taking me to the Monday changer and then to the ATM. Excellent service. Sadly I didn’t get the names of the other guys working there, but they were all lovely.

United KingdomNothing ........well cold showers 😆 But they are to be expected in the jungle
Wow, what a stay ! From the moment we arrived and were met by Baike, we knew we were in for a treat. The people of Bukit Lawang are amongst the friendliest we have met on our travels . We had a short walk through the village to reach the Aussie inn , on arrival, we were welcomed by Bob (this guy never stopped smiling ) and shown to our room . We had the lower of 2 rooms ,which had a rerrace that opened straight onto the river bank. The room was basic but very comfortable with a large, comfy bed . (much needed after jungls treks ) The hotel offers good coffee and a selection of foods for breakfast and has a restaurant for evening meals . We booked all of our tours via the Aussie inn and were guided by either Baike or Bob , we would recommend booking via the hotel as you get to build a great friendship with the guys thwt work there . Overall, our stay was amazing !

The jungle trek was one of the best experiences of our lives. We got to experience the jungle in a respectful way and our guide was so nice and had a lot of knowledge to share with us. GermanyWe had such a great time at Aussie Inn. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and come with the best view of the river and the jungle. What made our stay so memorable though is the staff and the atmosphere. Kedito, Bob and the others are such friendly, funny people and are happy to help with everything. We booked a one night two day jungle trek with them and had a blast. We saw Orang-Utans, Gibbons and many other monkeys. Food is also amazing. Please keep up the good work and thank you for everything!

NetherlandsOne bed in the room next to the restaurant had no mosquito net and the other one had one that couldn't close because it was too small for the bed. Luckily there was a ventilator to keep the mosquitos away.
We stayed in two different rooms on separate occasions, one right next to the restaurant and one a bit more towards the beginning of town. Both rooms had a specious veranda looking out over the beautiful river and jungle. Also both rooms were very clean. The room towards beginning of town was pleasant and had perfect mosquito nets. The room next to the restaurant was peaceful and quiet because it is at the end of town. The staff is friendly and helpful and they offer good private transport for a good price. I can recommend staying at Aussie Inn.

What an incredible experience. Oman, Kedito, Felix and Ulan made our stay a truly unforgettable one. Beautiful people! The location was out of this world with views of the river and jungle from our balcony. Visits from the naughty macacques every day and sightings of Orangutans and gibbons in the canopy across the river. Absolute heaven. The trek we did with Oman was careful, well thought out and utterly spectacular. Even if you don't stay at the Aussie in it would be well worth booking a trek with these guys. Dedicated, professional and truly passionate about the wildlife and the jungle they call home. Absolute magic - We can't wait to return. Huge love to the Aussie Inn. Thank you.

The staff is also very kind and helpful. We liked our breakfast and dinner: always fresh cooking! The owner although organizes private cars to Medan or Berastagi e.g. for fair rate!.
