Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe were woken up every morning before 7am, either by the dog barking or people talking very loudly walking passed our room (assuming these were workers starting early). The poor dog was in a metal cage, not much bigger than the dog itself. I'm not sure if it was removed from the cage at night, but on one of the days we noticed that it was in there from atleast 7am (when it started barking) to just after 10pm at night. We didn't leave the room until 1pm and got back at 5pm, so if it was let out if the cage, it wasn't for long. Quite sad to see and obvious why it barks all day. We didn't use the pool as there was a really nice free pool down the road. Slight smell of damp in the bedroom but nothing too offensive. When I messaged the number provided, it was the number of someone who no longer works there.
There was a young man working there who was very helpful. Anything we needed, he was happy to help. He also brought us hot water for our tea/coffee each morning. The shower was nice and hot. The bed wasn't too uncomfortable. Good location.

United KingdomWe arrived after 24 hours of travelling, late in the evening, exhausted. We had booked a deluxe room with aircon to be told they had given our room away. Instead they gave us the smallest box room, with a fan right on the road. The room was awful and I think there was only one of the kind. There was no apology or acknowledgment, just a tough luck attitude. They even tried to charge me full price! The breakfast also leaves a lot to be desired. No where to sit around the pool. There are much nicer options of accommodation for less around that area, I would save your money.
The rooms were lovely as were the pool.

NicaraguaThe rooms in front part have s little smell inside. Not to bad but i would recommend to book the rooms around the pool.
I stayed 2 weeks and first i booked one room im the front part. But they are not as comfortable as the rooms around the pool. I asked for and Yudi just did hid best to change my room quickly. Additional i got tea and coffee in the morning when i asked for and whatever i needed, i could ask yudi. He manages everything here and does the best that thr guests feel great here. The pool is clean too and beds are clean as well. I stayed two weeks and it was nice. The location is close to the center bud its quiet in the night. Only dogs barking sometimes in the night (like everywhere in ubud) or the temple is loud when there id a festival.

PolandIt's the first hotel in Ubud where I didn't feel very safe :D The doors didn't close properly, there was a lot of space between them. The bathroom was clean, but the water was going super slow in the shower.
The room was clean and the location was good. Very friendly and helpful host.

IndonesiaThe property is not well-taken care of. the cleanliness is their biggest issue. The sheet and the pillow are awfully smelly, not to mention look tired. The sink drain was blocked. I could not barely sleep and in the morning woke up exhaustedly and stiffly since could not stand the smell of the sheet and the pillow. I checked out early in the morning. The only plus point if this premise was the attitude of the PIC of the place, Wayan. He did his best to accomodate. Also there was a kind middle-aged lady who helped me with the luggage. Unfortunately, the hospitality should be supported by the fundamental improvement from the management.

AustraliaThe shower did not work well, with barely a drizzle and would not stay upright and part of the shower wall was falling off. It was also quite loud at night with dogs barking continuously, clearly hearing the neighbouring room.
Very central location and clean room as it appeared in the photos.

ItalyThe pool is never really cleaned so you can’t really use it. we originally wanted to stay a month but the owner didn’t want to clean the pool so we changed our mind. Room was never cleaned (maybe twice in 2 weeks). We were also overcharged compared to the price given by booking. wouldn’t stay again for that alone. No shampoo given.
The location is pretty good and it’s quiet in the mornings which is very rare. The owner is very kind.

United KingdomWe had to book ourself into a different hotel as all the bedding smelt very badly of damp and was unbearable to lie on. There were also big gaps in the doors which let lots of bugs and mosquitoes into the room. Staff were very understanding and did offer us a refund even though we had passed the refund period.
Location is good and pool is fairly nice. Room is a good size and the facilities are decent for the price you are paying.

IrelandSome big insects can get into the room through the gaps in the walls, we even found a small frog, but thats to be expected as you are in a very natural place.
