Bara Beach Bungalows is perfectly located on Bara Beach. You can walk right from the resort to the beautiful beach. The staff are really lovely, smiley and helpful. The breakfast was good, with lots of options.

Resorts offers spacious bungalows located in the garden, next to Bora beach. perfect breakfast and nice restaurant, easy and quite place. karaoke only during weekend but that was funny. 200m from beatch great and huge coral reef. Snorkling was perfect. Helpful and friendly stuff.

We were there during weekdays, so it was not too busy at the beach. Be prepared for some occasional Karaoke sound from nearby resorts, this seems to be a given activity for locals during beach trips... And you may feel like a celebrity at the beach, locals really like to take pictures with the tourists!

On the map, Bira looks relatively "close" to Makassar, and most reviews say that it is a popular weekend destination. But don't be fooled by the map, it is rather a day-trip of about 6 hours to get from Makassar to Bira. But this is certainly worth it, once you have seen the beautiful white beach and the amazing colour of the water! All taken into account, we would recommend to stay at least 3 nights or more to be able to enjoy this fully. The Bara Beach Bungalows are located almost at the end of the beach, in a nice sloping garden. The restaurant and reception is near the beach terrace and serves excellent food! We had many nice meals here and were not disappointed. We especially liked the water refill station (hot and cold water for free), this helps to reduce the plastic waste! Breakfast is sometimes served as a buffet if there are many guests, but on most days we got to select from the breakfast menu options (special requests were never a problem). Staff is very friendly and speaks good English, on most days you will also be able to meet the manager who appears to be a native speaker in both Indonesian and English and who gave us lots of nice advice for trips around the area. We definitely recommend to do a snorkeling trip by boat to the small island opposite the beach, there is a really beautiful coral reef garden with lots of different fish to be explored! You can walk along the beach during low tide to get to the other resorts, especially the partner location Akasha Beach Club is worth a visit for sunset! But keep the tide times in mind to safely get back and bring a torch or headlight (there is a road as well, just in case). Would stay here again any time if we are in the area!

Extremely attentive and smily personnel. Outstanding location, two steps away from colorful sea and white sand beach. East-west beach so you can enjoy both sun rise and sun set. Very good food on site and outstanding restaurant a few minutes away by walk, owned by the same team. Very spacious and clean rooms. Excellent service. No doubt we would chose it again

The bungalows are very special and beautiful. It was clean and comfortable. The outside area is small and shady and feels very private what we loved, too. The food was extraordinary well cooked and delicious (traditional dishes but higher standard). The beach is also special because you can really swim in the cristal blue water. You have to know that it is a local beach area, too. But for us it was nice as we already know about things like the special music and smell of burned coconut and stuff sometimes and take it easy. People were exceptionally nice and we had no bad feelings going to swim in swim suits. We would have liked to stay longer, because it felt like real holiday.

The property is very remote and far from everything. So, if you want to leave the property you will need to rent a scooter. The property provides a lot of services however they are quite expensive compare to Indonesian standards. Scooters are 140k per day (versus 100k max anywhere else), laundry services are very expensive (5k a pair of socks, 10k a trouser) and the restaurant is also on the pricey side. It’s important to note that, at the weekend, their neighbour is a karaoke club. They will play super loud music all day, from 7am till 10pm, on Saturday and Sunday. It makes it absolutely impossible to relax in your bungalow or on the terrace of the restaurant. Not the fault of the property but it has a big impact on your stay.

The property is located just in front of a beautiful white sand beach. It is mainly locals and Indonesian families who are coming here to swim. The beach is clean. Property has a restaurant, rent scooter, do laundry services and can arrange transportation to Makassar for you. The bungalow is spacious and clean. AC works very well.
