Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceWhat I liked, the total isolation, may be what some people will not like. It's a very small minus, but I would have liked to be able to turn off the jet of my private pool to fully enjoy the sounds of the forest.
I mean WAHOU! It was sensational. Perched in the middle of a coconut forest, the hotel opens its doors to a breathtaking view. The staff, who speak impeccable English, welcome you warmly, are friendly and attentive. I had the chance to stay in the villa with private pool and I was impressed by its size and beauty. Everything was there. I wish I never got out of my pool. However, I loved showering under the coconut trees in the sumptuous open bathroom. I finally tried the largest pool, where I simply had the feeling of swimming in the sky, surrounded by dragonflies. Huge plus: the Monkey Bar. I enjoyed myself, each dish delighted me and I had my favorite breakfast in Bali (big thanks to the staff)

AustraliaOnly F&B option was to go to Monkey Bar. Food was a bit hit and miss quality wise.
Very quiet and relaxing. Lovely infinity pool. Property is beautifully set amongst the lush gardens on the mountain side. Loved the layout of our room and the outdoor bathroom.

Singapore– The bar and restaurant shut at 8pm. I'm sure there's a reason for this but considering the remote nature of the venue it forces you to go into town or have an earlier night that intended.
+ The staff are incredible, very friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble and they were one step ahead with everything we needed. + The location is absolutely amazing, the views, the accommodation and the food and drinks at the Monkey Bar were excellent. + The location is quite remote and we explored the surrounding area quite a bit, but it would be possible to stay on site with the facilities available (bar, restaurant, spa etc) + One of the best places I've stayed

NetherlandsThere is nowhere to walk around the hotel. The road is very steep and there are dogs barking every few meters. It wasn’t very enjoyable. The transportation offered by the hotel is very expensive. They charged 500K rupiahs for the pick-up from Padangbai and 800K for a private driver for a day (the hotel took a 25% cut of it). I understand that there are less tourists here than other parts of Bali, but overcharging knowing that guests don’t have other options is distasteful.
We booked this place last minute, and we are SO HAPPY we found it. We just wanted somewhere close to Padangbai, the photos looked nice and we decided to give it a go. What a fantastic gem we discovered! The place is nested on the mountainsides and you get a terrific view of the ocean and jungle. The sunset from here was the most spectacular of our three weeks in Bali. The room was large, clean, modern, and the pool and garden were dramatically beautiful. The nearby village is clean and tidy, it was lovely to ride through it.

AustraliaThere wasn't much around so once the Monkey bar shut we couldn't get any ice or anything to take back to our room. It would have been nice to know that on arrival.
The views were amazing and I couldn't believe the view even from our Villa. We felt like royalty. The sunset at both the retreat and also the Monkey bar were incredible. Breakfast included was a nice touch and I highly recommend the food.
