I highly recommended Black Lava Hostel. If you want to hike Mount Batur, it’s the best place to start. You don’t need to take any transfer to go there, you can start the hike from the hostel with a very professional guide. It’s a relax and peaceful, a perfect place to take a break. The team is amazing, I had a really good time here. Thank you.

The flies... But it's not a reason no to go there, just be ready. They come in the morning and leave at the afternoon I'll recommend to either be in the pool or go for a ride during the day :) Other than that just a fun and beautiful place that I'm happy I didn't miss!

In one night of my stay, there was crawling insect in my pillow and insect waste in the comforter.

The Natural Hot Spring was so good. It helped ease the sore of my legs after a long run. I love the view from my room, it is facing right in front of the lake and Mt. Abang. Fantastic:-)

The amount of flies. Understandable that you are in an agricultural area, however the amount flies can be aggravating at times

The mixed dorm had no dividers or privacy.

Beautiful view, hot spring on site, staff is wonderful, emphasis on relaxation. The music was never too loud or fast paced and you can hear it from the hot springs

During the day, there are LOADS of flies. They could surely do more to get rid of some of them but accept also that you’re on a volcano so what do you expect. Definitely something that unfortunately would mean I probably wouldn’t go twice.

Amazing setting, the Hot Spring at the hostel is wonderful. Perfect place to do the Batur trek from! Food surprisingly good! Also, the Hot Chocolate in Kintamani is for some reason the best we’ve ever had! Give it a try!

There are many ants, and must close the door with care, if not big bugs will fly inside. That said, I wasn't bitten by any bugs so still ok. There is no toothbrush nor glasses. Nevertheless there are still the basics (water, toilet paper, etc.) There aren't many food options, but the staff is very nice and asked his friends to drive us to a local restaurant nearby.

The hot spring is excellent (slightly disappointed that it is closed at 9pm, but nevertheless it is super comfortable) The king-sized bed is very comfortable. The staff is very nice, kind and helpful. Super good value for money. I would have stayed longer if have more time.

The shared bathroom is too dark and the mirror really small, but not a big problem. Food in the facility is not cheap, but there is Java Fried Chiken very near by if you are on a low budget. At first, I thought the price for a tent was too high, but it is a pretty comfy for a tent, and you don't need AC in Kintamani as is even chilly there during the night time.

Nice and cozy tent with a comfortable bed inside. The hostel has an amazing pool made of HOT SPRING WATER that you can freely use during your stay, that is the main reason why I would recommend this hostel. There is a trail to Mont Batur just next to the accommodation. The staff is very fun and friendly.

I was positively suprised when I arrived to the place. The town itself wasn’t anything special but the hostel was a perfect place where to relax and e joy the nature. The hot springs were just perfect way to really relax after a hike to Batur. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was really friendly. The dorm room was clean and tidy. And you even have warm shower. It is amazing place to take time off and relax!

Hot spring in a beautiful garden overlooking a mountain - really nice place to relax in the evening and meet new friends. the hostel owner and staff are very welcoming, they will help with anything - they arranged the hike which was fantastic. I was here during the day of silence and ogoh ogoh and they invited to join them to see the parade
