Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaIn my last day, i went for a massage. Although the massage was good, at the end the lady massaged my face i believe using the same body oil she used everywhere else and without cleaning hands. I developed a very nasty alergic reaction on my face hours after the massage and one week later it is still not healed. I went to the doctor who is treating me with topical steroids and antihistamines. Be careful!
I stayed in the butterfly villa which was fantastic. A beautiful place, there is no need to leave your room, a lovely view and clean, lovely jacuzzi and at night the bonfire was magical

CanadaThe food, for the most part was excellent. However, the charcuterie platter for its price point was not up to par. Ritz crackers, sweet pickles, and packaged sliced ham is what I grew up on. While I love this, I expected more for the price tag.
The views were exceptional, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Warned many times about the bugs, but that was all part of its charm. Slept like a baby to the sounds of nature.

Beautiful property situated amongst lush rice terraces and fruit trees. I stayed in the Nirvana house which is quite lovely. I would love the opportunity to stay in the butterfly house next time, but that needs advance booking because it’s so popular.

The bamboo houses are truly magical! We stayed in the Santai house and it was the perfect place for 2 nights of our honeymoon. The outlook is unbelievable and no photo or video can do it justice! Highly recommend the in house fireplace marshmallow experience!

We loved everything! Beautiful restaurant and beautiful setting over the rice fields. We stayed in the (cheaper) villa without bamboo huts/hammock but loved it anyway. We got a scooter for free during our stay to explore the area. Sidemen is very nice and pretty.

BulgariaEverything was perfect! It was one of the best experiences I've ever had. We spent 3 nights here for a honeymoon, and it went beyond expectations! Although it's in nature, there were no problems with insects, etc. The cleanliness was great. The outdoor bathroom was amazing, the jacuzzi, too. The staff were very kind and provided anything we needed. They gave us a free scooter for rental for a whole day. The massage was also very good. Definitely recommend!

PolandThey honestly warn about the cons of the room including the bugs and other creatures entering the property in the evening in particular and the fact that it is very humid (not the best for bed sheets, towels etc)
It is a beautiful place surrounded by a lush nature. The view and the greenery is absolutely stunning!! The room is very comfortable with open plan ground floor and closed bedroom on the first floor. It is a great place to visit for a weekend and unwind completely being close to the nature. Very comfy bed and great sleep as well! And very convenient room service!

PhilippinesSome minor hiccups like delayed orders, unstable wifi (keep in mind that you need wifi to contact the reception/restaurant using WhatsApp). Confusing doorbell (or gong) we sometimes hear other rooms' bell mistakenly thought it is ours.
Camaya Bali sits in our No.1 list of best accommodations we stayed. It is exact what we expect from the Netflix series. Foods are delicious and reasonably prized. Staff are all friendly and hospitable. The area is relaxing and comfortably cold at night. We really felt rejuvenated on our 2 nights stay there.

FranceWe were not told that it was impossible to find a driver to leave the hotel since it is located in a secondary zone. We lost 2 hours looking for one. The restaurant focuses more about quantity than quality. The jacuzzi was not working.
The landscape is amazing. The place is very quiet and relaxing. The villa is very beautiful and large.

United KingdomThe restaurant food is expensive compared to Bali and you are left with no other real option. There is very little to do inside the small estate but please remember this place is perfect to relax and admire the views, walk the paddies and bathe in peace. You do not need to do activities, but they are offered if you wish. Also, you are REALLY in the Jungle. There are many many bugs, lizards and I even saw a snake on a walk. They are harmless, but if you don't enjoy bugs you will find them everywhere. I left my suitcase open on the second floor and found many very small flies had died on top of some clothes. So my advice is to pack everything away when finished with it. Lastly, it is 2.5 hours away from the airport when there is traffic, we expected it to be only 1.5 hours but bali is crazy for traffic, so expect this when you are travelling from denpasar airport.
We stayed at the Suboya house (more expensive) to unwind after a long 26 hour journey from Ireland and it was fantastic. Incredible views of the jungle and rice paddies, the bottom floor is completely open plan. The attention to detail is very impressive - there's many sitting areas to admire the view, the lights are romantic, mosquito repellant is provided, the beautiful house needs no air conditioning due to the airflow. It has 2 hammocks, one upstairs, one downstairs and the jacuzzi can be heated. There is an on site restaurant and the food is generally delicious- even the chips! Breakfast is wonderful and feels authentic and the menu is varied - the grilled pineapple is amazing. The staff are so warm and caring. You must visit this place - the pictures do not do it justice. You can sleep upstairs or downstairs. Doanstairs you will fall asleep to the sounds of the jungle - it can be a little loud though, so bring earplugs if you are a very light sleeper! This place is extremely romantic and ultimately, very unique and worth every rupiah you spend booking it.

This is one of the most amazing properties you will ever stay at. There are 4 bamboo houses in this compound and each house has its own unique style and flare. I stayed at the Suboya which was the original house made famous for its net bed overlooking the beautiful rice terraces. The house is open concept, built in the traditional style but with modern finishes. There's even a half moon pool that was flooded with flowers making it the ultimate photo spot. This is without a doubt the most Instagrammable and most unique property I've stayed in. Highly recommended for a pure and blissful getaway in Bali!

AustraliaThe experience is not at all what it is made out to be in the description. I expected secluded nature, peace and quiet. I booked this place specifically to relax. You cannot relax at Suboya at all. It is way too noisy from the roads that surround it (there is one right behind and to the side - you can watch the cars on the road from the house). There are trucks that make really loud, weird noises all night. Even worse, there is construction going on directly behind the house. If I had known this, I would not have booked. We could watch the machinery from the bathroom and upper balconies. It also smelt like someone was smoking weed occasionally. It was awful. I couldn't believe the amount we paid to stay here and they didn't even have the courtesy to tell us this. When I mentioned to the staff about the noisy construction they just said that the builders weren't contracted to them so there was nothing they could do. Ok - but you would have known about these builders and chose not to advise us in advance. There was also construction over the rice fields next to the other Camaya villas that we could see. There are also roosters and dogs in the surrounding village that continuously cockadoodledoo and bark ALL NIGHT. For hours on end. They are relentless. We could not sleep. Even with earplugs in. I was pretty devastated about the experience to be honest. I came to the realisation that this place is more suited to people who want to turn up and take pics for social media rather than people who want a peaceful experience in a beautiful location. It's not secluded. The food in the restaurant is also below par. It was disappointing and very expensive for the quality. It was also quite annoying to have to whatsapp the restaurant to let them know what we wanted for breakfast the next day and what time. We would have preferred to just go for breakfast whenever we felt like it and chosen what we wanted each morning.
The bamboo house itself is beautiful and has been thoughtfully put together. The beds are comfortable. I loved all the little amphibians and reptiles - this was my favourite part! Loved watching the geckos catch the giant insects at night. Little frogs surrounded us in the outdoor shower. One jumped on my leg - they are so cute. Also got swooped by a bat at dinner. If you are not a fan of creepy crawlies, you would hate it here.
