Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Wonderful hotel in Yogyakarta, I stayed two nights and extended for a third. The hotel is a lovely art deco building decorated very nicely with lovely garden and plants amidst which you can eat a delicious breakfast. Rooms are well appointed with free tea and coffee and water outside. Wifi, hot water and a/c throughout. Staff were exceptionally nice and friendly. Location is good near to the Kraton, a 30min walk to or from the train station or you can take a taxi. Highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again. Also has a cafe a restaurant on site.

AustraliaSimplicity of everything, the bright light that shine tru’ inside & outside the rooms & the staffs who do not bothering you with the fake smile.. They let you wonder around and just mind our business. Unlike other places where you can’t be escaping their hospitality that sometimes seems too over done.. Ceria is giving us the sense of real “ceria”… Happy!
If they provide the PARKING SPACE, I will definitely gave this place a 10 out of 10…

AustraliaNo pool. I know there is no room so there is nothing that can be done but a pool would have made this place perfect.
Very well preserved and cared for art deco style. Rooms, restaurant and leisure areas were immaculately presented.

ChinaThe electricity was off for two hours in one night. It’s not property’s faulty because the whole street was off, but it’s quite suffering in this hot weather. I also have skin allergy to the bedsheet. During the night in the bed my skin was very itchy.
The deco is nice, staff are friendly.

HungaryI didn't like the pre-communication. A day before our check-in, I got a message on my Whatsapp that I'm requested to pay a deposit within two hours by bank transfer. Otherwise, they would cancel my reservation. I thought it was a scam. It was not. So I had to spend some hour of back and forth communication, explaining that my booking was non-flexible, I can't cancel it without paying for it even if I don't show up. That I would not be able to do any bank transfer that would reach their account within 2 hours, etc.. It was soooo annoying.
The hotel has an excellent location that allows you to visit all important city attractions (Sultan's Palace, Water Palace, the main shopping street) by foot. It also has a great interior, yard, rooms, and cafe. It was perfectly clean in every single spot, and the sheets were like new. Perfect cleanliness. Very tasty breakfast. The value is super good, as it definitely feels better than a 2-star hotel.

GermanyAbsolutely stunning hotel offering peace and quiet admits the hustle and bustle of the city. Ceria transports you to a bygone era and has managed to preserve the magic of this historic building beautifully with so much attention to detail. Art deco & mid-century modern lovers will have a blast here. The staff is the friendliest and most attentive, always ready to assist and make you feel welcome. We also very much enjoyed the delicious a la carte breakfast. I can’t recommend Ceria enough. If you’re looking for a unique and relaxed place that’s close to the city centre, look no further. Will hopefully be back one day.

SingaporeLovely art deco design, in the heart of Jogja! Their mie goreng (included as part of the complimentary breakfast) was the best I've tried on my trip with springy noodles tossed in an umami sauce. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and the refreshing scent that they put in the room made the comfy room even better.
