Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaI couldn't fault the property of all.
The property was immaculate, with beautiful traditional furniture, spotlessly clean, a very well kept garden with singing birds, a fantastic library and a very handy cafe with snacks and meals available until late in the evening.

GermanyThe rooms were quite noise at night. You could hear the neighbours talking, closing doors and the nearby mosque also kept us awake sometimes at night. Besides the overall great stay, this made it a little bit exhausting over our total stay of three nights.
Great staff, clean rooms and good breakfast.

Netherlands(1) Breakfast process was not running smooth although breakfast options need to be provided evening before (2) Restaurant menu options are basic and small portions (felt like delivered from somewhere else). Restaurant has no alcohol license. (3) Tables in restaurant are too small for the chairs. Fit not well. No relaxing chairs available in hotel.
Great central location in Jogja! City center and restaurants options are easily reachable by foot. Also there are traditional dance performances everyday at 20.00h in the museum around the corner (tickets can be bought every evening from 19.00h on). Friendly staff! Very clean and stylish hotel rooms!

AustraliaNothing.
The Ceria hotel felt like an oasis amongst the chaos of the city. Everything was beautifully thought out and nodded to the Art Deco theme - including the choice of music playing throughout. The courtyard was green and luscious and the staff were simply fantastic and couldn’t be more helpful! Our room was very clean and comfortable - again, a haven!

United StatesThe room was on the small side, but that was really an issue for us as we weren't staying in the room very much. Also, there was one instance where we ordered room service and it took a bit long to arrive, but they were pretty busy that day and the other time we ordered room service, it came within a reasonable amount of time.
This is a cool little hotel that we really enjoyed staying in. The aesthetics were really cool with sliding wooden doors and a somewhat large open courtyard-type area with lots of beautiful plants that led to the various room areas and is also where the dining area is located. We had breakfast each day and it was better than your average hotel fare I would say (my favorite was their Soto Ayam). They also have a cafe that serves yummy coffee (and non-coffee) drinks. Unlike most hotels that we stayed in, they don't provide free plastic bottles of water. Instead they have a water dispenser outside of your hotel so as not to add to all the plastic bottle waste/pollution, which we appreciated. Also, they have free bicycle rentals, which was a really cool bonus.

Room was comfortable and cool in temperature. The courtyard area is stunning. A peaceful place away from the traffic. Manager and staff is super friendly and attentive. Location is good, near Sultan's Palace. Everything else is just a short Grab ride away. Highly recommended!

United StatesMid-century modern hotel right in the heart of the city. Lovely, warm space with thoughtful staff and a great breakfast. Great location to get around — we rented a scooter for our stay and parked it right in front of the hotel. The manager was so thoughtful and locked it for us at night, just in case. We so enjoyed our time and felt super comfortable. The very cold AC and super hot showers were a big plus too!

MalaysiaMy room was at the side facing the garden and the top windows had no curtain so it was quite bright in the morning. The hot water in the shower was also a little sporadic, not coming through sometimes. Everything else was perfect.
The hotel is small and friendly with the rooms set in a nice garden and covered eating areas around. It has a lovely art deco style, furnishings and a coffee shop. There were local or western choices for breakfast, I had an American, very tasty and good portions, and they made a takeaway for our early morning tour start. The location is great for walking to the Palace and wondering around the back streets to the Water Palace. The bar street was a longer walk (30 mins) but taking a Grab was easy. The hotel is quite new and everything was spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

MalaysiaThere is no bed side light. Can be a little noisy occasionally as the restaurant takes outside guests (but close after 10pm). Spa is bad, cheap product is used and the person has no skill (since the spa does not belong to the hotel so impact in rating but really not recommended)
Bed is super comfortable. Room is spacious, has decent size wardrope, desk and chair, and tivi. Room and the hotel overall is very clean. Privacy is great as each block has only 4 rooms, surround by walk-ways with nice plants. Breakfast is good. Staffs are super helpful and friendly. Communication can be done via whatapps so it is very convenient.

GermanyWhy does a cappuccino take 15 minutes to make in the café? - But that should be the biggest problem with a hotel, really.
Hotel Cerha is a newly renovated old building with Artdeco touch. All pieces of furniture are high quality, the staff is kind and professional, there is excellent coffee and a large and rich breakfast. They have an exceptional collection of books about Javanese culture and sights. A good Padang food resto, Aroma Baru and the "gudeg-street" is in walking distance, as well as the palace, the Sonobudoyo Museum and Jl. Malioboro.

SwitzerlandNothing to complain for !
We loved everything about our stay at Ceria Hotel ! From the very kind staff members to the delicious coffee, the beautiful decoration everywhere and the cleanliness. The location is perfect to explore the Royal palace and its neighborhood, too. Tip about the breakfast: you can choose from a menu the night before - don't be scared of the Red beans soup, it's extremely tasty ! I would like to thank the team once again and the manager Mr Nanang who personally made sure we had a great stay and did everything he could to arrange what we needed. I totally recommend this lovely place :)
