The sunrise view was stunning, overlooking the rice fields and the hills. Really lovely quiet place, romantic and the owners are so lovely. They have a pool table, so you can play a game :) Super convenient that they cook there as well, you can have it all in one place.

Sometimes about 8 a m near retreat some of the neighbors turned on loud music.

Great location, quiet place. In retreat you can find a cafe (warung) with tasty food for a good price. Amazing view from our room.

Construction was taking place. Made for an early start into the day

The view from the rooms is phenomenal. Breakfast is ok, the staff is very friendly. The property is remote and transport is required. Can be expected from a retreat.

Nothing to add here it was a very nice stay

The views are like an oil painting here, very tranquil site and area. John and his wife are always available, super approachable and very helpful, they arranged mopeds and waterfall tours for us quickly and are really friendly and good to chat with. The room is small and cabin like which we really enjoyed as it adds to the mountain adventurous vibe. You can order meals to the room which are home cooked by Johns indonesian family and very tasty, the wifi worked well and the shower was boiling hot also. We felt so good staying here and can't wait to come back and see the guys again

This place is my favourite in Bali. Genius in its simplicity. Close to greatest waterfalls ever, Unique feeling of being connected to nature, original Balinese atmosphere and Breathtaking views that 5 stars hotel could only dream of.

The neighbors tend to play their music very loud. That spoiled a lot of the otherwise beautiful experience. The cabin gets quite hot during the day.

Breathtaking views and a really cozy cabin. The whole staff was very friendly and we met cute cats and dogs. Very clean.

We were very happy and comfortable but a few things might put other people off: You hear some road noise. The rooms are split level with stairs outside (my husband and I split and slept with the kids). The bathrooms are outside but very private, but the flooring is a bit sore on bare feet.

Beautiful sunrise over the valley! Lovely host family, great location for exploring the north, yummy local food and choice of western/asian breakfast, clean and cosy rooms with lovely deck and balcony. We had a great stay!

This was the best accommodation we've had in Bali. It was comfortable and clean, the food was just amazing, staff and owners were incredibly helpful and friendly. We were so relaxed throughout our stay here. It was very difficult to leave the hammocks and stunning view (ocean, mountains, forest, rice fields) to explore the area. This in not some luxury resort where you get pampered, it's a cozy bungalow surrounded by nature where you can just exist in peace for a while. It was perfect for us.

Someone clearly invested money here and there is potential but the lack of management made the stay disappointing. 1. Wrongly advertised: the rooms are by far not 50m2. I booked to different categories (budget double room and garden view room) which were exactly the same rooms, although the latter was almost double the price. That was very unfortunate, because it was supposed to have one extra bed. In the end we moved a mattress from an other room there. There are no activities as advertised, the name retreat is misleading, as there is nothing but the huts. 2. Restaurant is not operating, breakfast was very basic (no choice, just toast with jam and a fried egg) 3. There was construction work going on, which does not look nice, resulted in workers moving around and some noise of course 4. No attention to detail: AC not working great as remote was missing, some doors didn’t lock well etc 5. The bathroom is outdoor which I usually like, but this one was just a small room with no roof basically. Also no roof above the toilet. If outdoor they should have made it more spacious with plants etc. 6. Staff was friendly but not so motivated or creative. For example they couldn’t give any recommendations what to do in the area or solve our room problem in a good way. Probably not we’ll instructed.

The rooms are little wooden cabins which is kind of cute and you have a nice view.

Firstly, although quite quirky at first, the en-suite bathroom is outside/ outside the room and although this is nice to experience - when it’s raining it’s more of a hinderance… never have I ever had to use an umbrella whilst using the loo before!! - may benefit from having a pull over roof to avoid wet ‘situations’. Secondly, though quite a small issue, the bedroom door didn’t remain closed which may seem very trivial however, when bugs are flying about you want to be able to close the door without having to lock it every time I.e - using the bathroom- that been said- there is a mosquito net over the bed. Thirdly - breakfast was pitiful. You can’t advertise/ additionally charge breakfast and then offer two slices of warm (not toast) bread and a very bland egg- when asked to see if they can prepare Balinese breakfast - this was refused. Lastly- on arrival (after a few hours ride on a scooter) we were told dinner isn’t available as no food has been prepared - this is the last thing we wanted to hear as we just wanted to relax. A few hours later there’s a party going on where everyone was eating???

The views are what sells the place. Really beautiful. The bed is also extremely comfortable!

The bathroom could have been placed a bit better as they were located outside of the sleeping area. So when you wanted to go to the toilet at night you had to put clothes on just incase someone saw you. We also found sometimes we recieved an offputting energy from the staff at the time we stayed and almost seemed frustrated to be hosting us which made me feel unconfortable to stay there or ask for anything or any help.

The view was spectacular from the balcony. The huts were well placed so that there was privacy from others and was very peaceful in the evening for a good nights rest.

There is waterfall close to the property and for me it was bad idea to spend the night close by. Too loud. For me bed was too soft and pillow too high.

Nice area, friendly and helpful stuff, beautiful view, easy to find the property.

The room was very dark. The bed has no mosquito net. The shower is ok but can be a little warmer, 33 degree is ok but can be warmer. The sink is super small for teeth brushing and washing hands. The warung has no one in the evening to serve dinner and the breakfast is just OK..

The view from the balcony was amazing, overlooking a forest, river stream, mountains and the ocean from afar. It is located 5minutes scooter ride from aling aling waterfall.
