Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicEverything perfect!
Absolutely amazing place with a unique charm. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed every moment. The views are breathtaking and watching the sunrise starts your day perfectly. We went to visit the Jatiluwih rice fields, hiked Mt. Batukaru, explored nearby temples and always went back to relax in this beautiful villa, to have their excellent tea and tasty food. The staff is great and carrying. Thank you for a fantastic time!

Switzerlandit‘s very far away from everything. we came there by grab, not knowing that we couldn‘t get away, because no grab or taxi is going to get you there. they have contact to a local driver, but it‘s pricey. although the ride was very nice, we learned a lot about balinese culture and he made our 2 hours long ride enjoyable.
in the middle if the jungle, beautiful views and very cozy decoration and furniture. we loved it! the people working there are kind and caring. they have a scooter rental, and within 10 minutes you are in the middle of the most beautiful ricefields.

NetherlandsThe hotel was very difficult to reach (impossible by car), because a 300 meter path had to be walked on the side of the mountain, with only worn wooden slats to walk on. Not the most practical with a suitcase or in the dark.
The view was absolutely beautiful, with the hotel being literally on the side of a mountain and having a jungle/mountain view. The room was extremely clean and the breakfast was a delicious local breakfast, with a few other options like fruit, cereal and pancakes. The hotel also specialises in tea farming and offered workshops in this area.

RomaniaAmazing experience, outstanding view, great food. It is located in the heart of the forest, in an oasis of privacy and tranquility. The rooms have such a lovely design with traditional furniture, open bathroom experience. Everything was very clean. The sunrise, the sound of birds, clean air, relaxed atmosphere… AMAZING WE LOVED IT ! I will have to say that everyone who wrote a review and said the only thing they regret is not spending more time here were absolutely correct.

United StatesRoad has washed out since I was there 5 years ago. Guests can take a pleasant 5 minute walk while staff bring luggage in on motorbikes OR guests can ride with staff on motorbikes. I was fine with all that, but my wife was nervous about the narrow path along a steep slope.
D'wan was delightful. We had a great time there - the view is tremendous. The separate cottage is not quite as nice as the guest rooms in the main house, but it is very roomy and private.

Great unique location ‘in the jungle’ with an amazing view / setting & very friendly and welcoming hosts. A beautiful and well appointed quirky & spacious house with a big open fire that is lit at night for guests. Rooms are comfortable and provide everything required for a nice stay. Great location for trekking the Jatiluwih rice fields & we also enjoyed the tea experience run at the property. Owners very accommodating. Property has a pizza oven & table tennis, cards etc

MalaysiaNothing— we were sad to leave
Everything about D’Wan Tea Mountain Side Villa was great. We spent 2 nights here for our anniversary and the hospitality and the property exceeded our expectations. You are greeted with a stunning view of the landscape and then offered some tea from the property. The staff was so courteous and kind and you’re able to request for meals on site. The pool and sauna are great additions to this BnB. But nothing beats the view.

Saudi ArabiaExcellent hosts. Beautiful, tranquil location set within a tea plantation. Access via a 200m path from the local temple, the hosts will help with your luggage. We changed dates at the last minute which meant we were staying over Eid (they should have been closed) The host were very gracious inviting us to there Eid celebrations and meals, which were excellent. The rooms were excellent, good size overlooking the pool. Great location for cling Mount Batukaru. Wonderful massage, highly recommended.

GermanyWe loved staying at Dwan Tea and regret not booking more nights. We felt like staying at our uncle or aunts place but with all the great features of a hotel. The staff was soooo nice and we had so many great conversations together. The room was huge, very luxurious and just amazing furniture and super comfy bed. And the pool and the view....wow!!!! It was an amazing night and morning at Dwan and if we come back to Bali we will definitely stay there again!

SpainWe wish we would could have stayed longer!
This place truly encompasses the real magic of Bali. If there are two experiences we could recommend above all others after one month all over Bali it would be the Jatiluwih UNESCO Rice Terraces and the authentic Balinese experience we had at this spectacular family run hotel. Nestled in the jungle between temples with unreal sunrises and evenings by the fire, this was by far our best stay during our month in Bali. The owners made us feel at home in this beautiful retreat into nature, the views from the property are out of this world and we loved the superb home-cooked food as well as fascinating conversations with the owner and his wife who are so kind and generous. The tea experience is a must, they grow and produce a variety of delicious teas on site, we loved learning about the different teas and getting to try them all! If you want to experience Bali in it’s purest form you cannot miss a stay at this hotel.
