Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Doni was an excellent host and excellent communicator. We communicated via WhatsApp and he made sure I had the most pleasant stay. You are in a remote area staying in a very simple cabin that has just what you need for your stay. Doni went out of his way to prepare breakfast the way I liked it every morning and provided my favourite local fruits (banana, mangosteen & dragon fruit). Doni drove me around munduk and brought me to various waterfalls. He recommended 3 excellent restaurants that were clean and the food was incomparable!! His resort is lovely and very peaceful. Just what you need to enjoy a slow, relaxing morning each day. There were lots of bugs since you are living in a cabin however no mosquitos since the weather is quite cool in his location. Water bottles were provided to brush your teeth and for drinking. Location is perfect if you are looking to explore the town of munduk! You wake up to roosters and enjoy stunning sunsets. I highly recommend this homestay if you are looking for an opportunity to experience remote life, support a local family, and receive excellent hospitality.

SpainThe room was spacious, impeccably clean, and very comfortable, offering wonderful views of the rice fields. Doni was truly exceptional—super friendly at all times, going out of his way to meet all our needs and provide excellent activity recommendations. The food was outstanding! You must try the noodle soup; it's simply a dream! The fried bananas served at breakfast were also delicious. I will certainly recommend this hotel to my friends and family. If you're looking for a fantastic room, cleanliness, and a welcoming atmosphere, this is the place to stay!

AustraliaNothing major, but the pillows were lumpy and we didn't get our room serviced on a 4 night stay and the outdoor bathroom got a little messy due to the rain. But all in all it was a great stay!
Donny was an awesome host, he was happy to help with anything we needed. The homestay is situated beside rice fields and has a really peaceful vibe. Breakfast was yum and the balcony was perfect to chill out in the afternoon rain.

SwitzerlandA mosquito net could be added to the rooms, but that’s my only remark.
The location in the middle of nature is sensational. The homestay is simple yet functional, comfortable and cozy. Exactly what I was looking for to enjoy a quiet time in a remote area. The staff was very nice and helpful, the breakfast was good. They didn’t serve lunch/dinner but recommended a warung nearby (3 min. walk) that served excellent food in a very nice environment

SpainAt the time of my visit (December) the farmers were harvesting the rice, starting I think about 4am or 5am with bright lights. It wasn't a major hassle, but I was quite exhausted by this part of my trip, and travelling alone I was susceptible to any unusual noises or lights that I wasn't expecting. So it did wake me up. Also made me grateful I'm not a rice farmer! As is typical everywhere in Bali, farmers pull on a rope full of clattering tins cans to scare the birds away. It only bothered me because I was unwell with a migraine and needed to lie down in silence. There is a small construction site next door. That did disappoint me because I travelled to this region to escape the noise of Seminyak and Ubud. Donnie was very apologetic and did everything he could to make my stay more comfortable. It's not his fault. Hopefully the building work will be finished soon anyway. The room was more rustic than I expected - but that is just down to my interpretation of the photos. It was fine. The fireflies in the ceiling area were quite magical at night! Would be good to fix the broken toilet seat.
Lovely area away from the hustle and bustle found elsewhere in Bali. Donnie is the perfect host and helps with everything you need. I started to get a migraine and had to lie down for an afternoon. He arranged a food delivery for me and checked on me via WhatsApp to see if I needed anything. He also suggested a spot I could go that was very peaceful, where I could laze in a hammock away from all noise. Breakfast was yummy. Good to have a/c in the room. Five-min walk to facilities in the village - including Donnie's friend's lovely restaurant where I had a delicious meal in very pretty surroundings. Nearby area is great for lakes, waterfalls, jungle treks. Donnie is available to drive you for a reasonable fee. He also dropped me at an exceptional restaurant with incredible views that I never would have found by myself. The wooden casita is basic but comfortable. I loved the neighbour's dog who was super friendly, clean and cute, and who waited for me at night to guide me back to my casita down the dark path.

PortugalBreakfast with little variety. The route has little lighting until you reach the accommodation.
Very friendly staff, always available to help. The host sent us suggestions for attractions to visit/restaurants to go to/ATMs, which were very helpful. Motorbike rental. Transfer from the hotel to various points on the island. The bathroom opens upwards, which provides an interesting experience. Nice spot to see the sunset.
