Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PhilippinesWhile we understand that the property is very new I think it would be much more profitable for them to have water activities given the wonderful location.
It was unique and interesting way of preserving a relic from the past.

SingaporeThe spa facility was unfortunately under renovation. There's also not a lot of options around for grocery shopping.
It was a unique experience and the ship hotel was very impressive.. Conveniently located next to the ferry terminal and easy to book activities within Bintan Island.

TaiwanThe balcony is very sweet and make me feel very peaceful. Sea view is fantastic. Staff is very kind. The room is unique, tall people need to be careful to hit the ceiling if raise hand but it was a cruise before so understand. I would definitely come back again when more facilities open in the future. Like the vibe and also the theme of this hotel.

South KoreaThe food is very bad, and also the breakfast. This is even a bigger problem as the hotel is isolated from the island more crowded areas. So, you need to pay a 30USD each time you want to go somewhere. They should have put in place a regular shuttle to Langoi Bay.
The hotel is original and the rooms are clean. A nice swimming pull with a sea view. The people are also very nice and helpful.

GermanyThe food, although tasty, could have benefited from higher quality and a more extensive menu selection to cater to a wider range of palates. Similarly, the breakfast options, though satisfactory, were somewhat limited and could be expanded to offer a more fulfilling start to the day. Despite these points, dining with a view of the sea was an absolute delight, adding a special touch to the meals and enhancing the overall culinary experience.
Our stay at the Doulos Phos The Ship Hotel was nothing short of remarkable. Nestled in a unique location, this hotel offers an unparalleled experience that blends nautical charm with luxurious comfort. The fact that it holds a place in the Guinness Book of Records adds an extraordinary touch to the stay, making it not just a hotel visit but a part of history. The cabins are beautifully appointed, combining the quaint essence of ship life with modern amenities, ensuring a comfortable and memorable stay. However, what truly sets Doulos Phos apart is its crew. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure guests feel welcomed and valued. Their attention to detail and genuine care enhance the overall experience, making it a must-visit destination for those seeking a blend of history, luxury, and warm hospitality.

SingaporeAs it is located far from outdoor activities or city centre, would be good to have more facilities, for example outdoor activities like rock climbing flying fox, jet ski, etc.

RomaniaLiving in a hotel / ship / museum was a new experience for us! We also had the pleasure to participate to the ship’s heritage tour and find out about its history and the long journey to its now permanent home in Bintan, meeting also Mr Eric Saw, the man behind this ambitious project. Definetly a worth while experience that made our stay in Bintan a very memorable one! It is also a very relaxing location… also the infinity pool is super nice and the staff is super friendly and ready to help out.

SingaporeFor the purpose I went for, it was great. However, there are not many facilities and activities. Pool bar was not open but not a big issue as you can order from the restaurant and they serve you at the pool.
The number one thing about this place is the people. The staff here are very friendly, warm and hospitable. Nothing was ever too difficult for them. They always did their best to help. Next was the pool. Amazing view and great infinity pool. The room was comfortable and spacious. Had an amazing trip. The location is next to ferry terminal so very easy to get there. Breakfast buffet was great. So much variety. I liked the tour they gave about the property. Very great history about this ship.

NetherlandsIt was a wonderful experience. The cabin was clean and was tastefull and gave a ships experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast and diner were of good quality and the staff made us feel special, and went out of their way to see to it that we had a great time. The ship has a long history and is well presevered. The fact you can still see the engineroom and walk down the tunnelshaft made it special. When walking the deck past the life boats and standing on the bow gives it a real shipsfeeling. The swimming pool next to the ocean adds to the experience, especially at sunset. We are happy we got to visit the Doulos Phos and reocmmend this unique experience.
