Location was a bit far away from the town but this was overcome by a quick scooter ride.

A superb place to stay. Comfy and clean. Lovely outside balcony. Food was good and staff were amazing.

There are not many other places around and it takes around 15-20 minutes walk to get to the city centre. But that's the price to pay for the calm atmosphere :-)

Beautiful individual bungalows on a slope with a very nice view of a bay. The airport is extremely close so even if you are on the island just for a short trip, it's worth it. Very friendly staff and calm atmosphere.

Amazing beautiful resort and romantic getaway. The bamboo bungalows on the hillside were so comfortable and luxurious. The place felt secluded but only a few minute away from restaurants and shops. The staff were super friendly and full of great advice for restaurants and activities.

It was perfect, however maybe not enough attention from the staff on taking care of the pool area (towels missing, trays not taken). But its really not important.

Great location, great atmosphere, great staff, amazing food. Bamboo villas are great and clean with great view on the ocean for most of them. Highly recommended.

Breakfast was very poor given this is a top of price range location. Processed bread and cheap jam. Kitchen area basically sink and kettle.

Beautiful location, away from town with great views of coast and islands. Very private. On site taxi service at reasonable cost. Great staff. Beautiful bamboo houses. One day we just admired the view.

Has good views because it is on the hill but this also means a far walk to centre of town (great restaurant nearby though) and the shower pressure was a little sporadic

Nothing really. Although the room, even with air conditioning, is still very hot. It must be tricky to cool a bamboo hut with all the ventilation points letting in the warm air.

Beautiful location, very clean and tidy in a lush garden hillside with a stunning view. Way more than a bamboo villa with very comfy beds and a lovely bathroom (although a handheld shower in a bath is a little annoying!). Super helpful and friendly staff where nothing is too much trouble. Lovely breakfast on the verandah too.

Close to airport and free shuttle service. Short ride to town. All staff super friendly. Food menu had a good choice and dishes were tasty. Relaxing experience.

Komodo is still a fairly remote place so electricity and fresh water can be a challenge. The staff tried their best but we did have a slight problem with water. Totally fine if you remember where you are, enjoy the view and maybe skip a shower some time.

Not for those who fear nature - by nature i mean bugs. Excellent staff and really pretty property. Everyone is very helpful. Location is great, close to airport, close to town but far enough so you don't hear all the town noises. Would recommend the suite as it was a lot less bugs compared to the 2 bedroom villas.

The rooms, whilst air conditioned, are not overly cool given all the cracks in the bamboo that let in the warm air. This also means you can end up with bugs in your room overnight, so you definitely need to use the mosquito nets on the bed. Be aware the air conditioner when left on will start to drip causing a puddle to form which is fairly slippery. There is no refrigeration in the rooms, but a communal fridge is available at reception. The water provided in the rooms was in reusable bottles, so there's no confirmation if it is bottled or tap water. The property has a lot of stairs so would not be suitable for anyone with a physical disability or lack of basic fitness. Be careful when using the taxi service into town as they will bill you at the end of your stay (prices are fairly consistent with other providers in Labuan Bajo). The villas are located about a 15-20 minute walk from the centre of town (all downhill) and on a very straight route so it is easy to navigate, however the return trip would be a decent hike so a bike/taxi is probably required.

The view from these villas is incredible! I really cannot overstate how beautiful it is to see the entire bay from inside your room, on the balcony or on the lower level, as you get a clear view from all. The bamboo villa feels very authentic but with a comfortable bed and good water pressure/temperature in the shower. The staff were very supportive including making alternative breakfast options for when I went on my Komodo Tour. The food was of a good quality, but not much flexibility in the options available. Free shuttle provided to the airport on departure. The pool area is nice but I didn't use it personally. The staff were very supportive of any requests I made including holding my bags on the final day till my departure.

I recently stayed at a beautifully located hotel with breathtaking views. The standout feature was the incredibly friendly and helpful staff. When a tour company failed to pick me up, the hotel staff seamlessly arranged an alternative and even provided transport to the port for a similar excursion. The service was impeccable, and the meals were delicious. The cottage amenities were outstanding, offering a luxurious touch to the stay. I highly recommend this hotel for a fantastic getaway with top-notch service.

The attack of the cockroaches! It was quite funny actually...you have to keep all the doors closed at all times to prevent their entry but they do crash themselves against the walls trying to get in. There was a lot of wasted space in the unit - plenty of room for a nice sitting area other than just a desk. We only went up the hill to the restaurant once. Would have liked to have spent more time there, but the hike was just too much after a long day of sight-seeing. The units are aging and need some updating.

Well, the views were spectacular! The location was perfect, but you do need private transportation to reach it. The restaurant, Heaven's Door is awesome - really well-done! And the food was delicious. Bit of a hot hike from the cottages, but the staff were kind enough to give us a ride home after we ate. The unit we were in was really spacious and the bathroom was stunning! Loved being served breakfast on our deck!
