Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyDon't get me wrong: this place is good value for the price we paid. But there are a few things that I want to mention: At first, we didn't find it and needed to ask around to get to it. The way to get there is an adventure. The bathroom is pretty basic: it has a toilet and shower, but there is no place to hang your towels or put your stuff. And shampoo or soap was not provided, but the shower was hot and everything was working. The sink is in the bedroom. We stayed here in the rainy season in early February, so you may experience occasional rain and that is why everything is so green around.
You get a feeling for the country life when you stay at Gangga. There are two alternative ways to get to the property and one of them is an adventure in itself, when self-driving like we did. But that also means that the location is quiet and the air is a bit cooler than on the sea, which is nice. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast provided was good, considering the overall price we paid for the accomodation including breakfast. We have also been eating here for dinner and the prices are reasonable. The view to the rice fields is nice from every room and from the rooftop. It is also good that you can sit at a table under the roof infront of your room.

United KingdomWe loved our holiday at Gangga Homestay! The owners were such nice people and were very enthusiastic to share Balinese culture with us. They were also very helpful: they helped arrange the airport pickup, renting a scooter, laundry, and recommended nice walks in the area. The Homestay is in a cute little rice field, away from the main street of Munduk so that we could experience the "real Bali" and see what daily life looked like for local people. The view from the rooftop is amazing, and we saw many interesting birds and animals in front of the house, even fireflies. The food was also amazing: ibu made the best nasi campur we have had in Indonesia! We also went on several trips with the lovely driver Putu, who is a relative of the owners, and had many interesting conversations about Balinese culture with everyone. Ibu also told us about the many fruit trees and plants that grow around the homestay, very interesting! Some things to keep in mind when booking: The rooms and bathrooms are very basic, this was fine for us and we were very comfortable, but if you are looking for luxury this is maybe not the place for you. The Homestay is surrounded by nature so of course there are insects. These are things you should be aware of but are totally worth it to stay in such a beautiful natural environment away from the tourist crowds. Also be aware that if you are not an expert at driving a scooter, the homestay is quite remote and you will have to walk up the hill to get to the main street/restaurants. But the Homestay has amazing food so it's not necessary. We are very grateful for the hospitality of Gangga Homestay and would recommend it to anyone who loves nature and wants to experience authentic Balinese culture. Terima kasih Gangga Homestay!

LatviaAs suggestion, would add bedside lamp to add more cozy light at night.
The highlight of this homestay is the view from the room and the welcoming & warmhearted family. The room is simple but clean & cozy, had a good sleep. They served also delicious breakfast better than in some more expensive accommodations. You will be located in the middle of Munduk village, be ready for steady roads up/ down. The owner took me on his bike to the starting point of the rice terraces path & waterfall path. Munduk is very beautiful place, breath taking views whenever you go.

VietnamThe host, the view, the breakfast, the little roads to walk around! It is lovely to stay here. We spent 4 nights. From here we could go to many beautiful waterfalls shortly. I attach an image of the map that shows you the less steepy roads to go there. There are many little roads that take you to the homestay, but some of them are scary steepy! We followed Google map to go there on the arriving day and it was my horrible 30 minutes on that scary steepy roads. It’s nice to walk only, not by motobike.

CanadaAll was great
It is quite a journey to reach if you are walking as the road has many ups and downs, but you can take scooter if you don’t want to walk and the effort is worth it. Just a wonderful location in a village with nearby rice terraces and jungle walks. The view is amazing and the family so kind and genuine.

MaltaIt’s good to know that there is around 1km walk from the homestay to the centre mostly uphill to reach the main road. The walk is pleasant but might be challenging with young kids. However Daki has kindly offered us to call him to send some one for us should we need. We still enjoyed the walk exploring the area where we encountered local people going by their usual day and stopped at local “restaurants” for drinks.
We were very much welcomed by the staff. Daki is such a sweet and helpful guy. He was very nice with our kids, played musical instruments with them and even helped them with flying the kite. The location is beautiful and we could enjoy nice views right from the bed. Each room as its own terrace facing the view.

PolandThat we spent there only 2 days :(
This is so far the best place in Indonesia for us. It's a perfect spot for relaxing. The owners are very friendly, kind and really take care of you. I was ill and they offered ginger tea which really helped. Also, the food cooked there is delicious. The room itself is spacious with big comfortable bed. And the view from it is breathtaking.. It's quite close to the local market (we recommend local sweet called kaliadrem) and the waterfalls. We will definitely come back. Oh, and the show has perfectly hot water :)

AustraliaThe only thing I would say is that there are very steep hills to get to the Homestay. If you're a novice scooter rider like I am, perhaps call the Homestay. They will very kindly pick you up 1km away on the main road and help you get there.
Gangga Homestay was such a wonderful place to stay near Munduk. The people who run the homestay couldn't be kinder, more considerate or more welcoming. The room is simple but comfortable and clean. The view is stunning, and you're surrounded by rice fields, jungle and small villages. But the best part is the home-cooked food. I think I had the best food I've had Indonesia-wide here. There's also a lovely, peaceful rooftop to chill on.

United StatesDelicious home cooked food, generous hosts, and a peaceful setting -- we were so happy to have stayed at Gangga, one of the best homestays in all of Bali. The host's nephew took us and some other guests on a day long hike to the waterfalls and then played some great guitar songs for us later that evening.
