Can get cold at night, blankets in room would be useful. Could hear other guests in their room. In the day a lot of noise from buildings near by doing construction work.

Amazing views from room and restaurant/pool area. Staff were very welcoming and extremely thoughtful. Comfortable big bed. Beautiful decor. Tasty food and room service available. Really enjoyed our stay here.

    Nothing

We absolutely loved the room ! Splendid view on the jungle, the bed was exceptional, we slept so well. Dinner was also very good ! And they have one of the most beautiful waterfall we saw in Bali at 3 min from the hotel, which is called Banyu Wana. Thank you for all

We had a fantastic time at Giriwood. The view from the property is mind blowing, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The balcony and rocking chairs were a plus. Should also mention that the room was impeccably clean. The location is good - midway between main Munduk and Bedugal, which makes it easy to explore both sides. Transportation can be an issue as there is nothing within walking distance, but the hotel gave us the number of a reliable and friendly driver. The on-site restaurant is also very good and the breakfast selection was plentiful. Giriwood’s staff are a real asset. Incredibly kind and helpful - special thanks to Ngurah, Peni and Rudiani for making our stay memorable. If you have any mobility issues ask for a room closer to the reception, as there are many stairs down to the lower rooms.

When we arrive the staff was asking us to pay without even seeing the room, they didn’t even help us without bags to get to our room and in the room 5 min talk about how they would charge us for everything that could break or get stain. After this rough start, the staff was very helpful during breakfast and dinner, arranging scooter and ride to our next destination. The hotel is nice and clean, the pool view is incredible and close to the waterfalls and the lake view. The breakfast is nice and tasty but repetitive after two days.

-too small portions at breakfast and extra charge for latte -the staff was often not able to understand English -using this hotel you should be aware that you have to take quite a way up including stairs from the room/Villa to the reception/restaurant - NOT barrier-free

-amazing Villa with free minibar and view into the jungle -great hotel to stay if you like it calm and special as well as in the nature -staff helped with taxi and motorbike rental (even though there is not a lot of rentals/taxis in the surrounding)

    expensive breakfast

Giriwood hotel is located on a mountain top on a beautiful hillside with amazing view to tropical trees. It is cool, tranquil and secluded. It’s amazing to sit on the porch while the clouds are rolling in. The staff are kind and helpful. The breakfast is quite expensive though- so remember to book room including breakfast.

Transportation is difficult, as there's no car or bike rental, and walking around the area is difficult (beware of village dogs when walking to waterfall). Rooms are far from entrance, so if you forget something in the room is a long walk back.

Beautiful hotel, luxury at affordable cost at the time of booking. Best if you come with your own transportation. Food was also good at the restaurant, and service on point.

Everything was nice, so nothing to complain about.

The hotel was placed on a hillside with Forrest view. We stayed in a small freestanding cottage. The view from the room was really very nice. The weather in the evening was a bit chilly but very fresh. Also the breakfast was one of the best during our stay in Bali. Also the personell was kind and nice as usual.

On the third day I suffered from food poisoning which is not uncommon for European people to get in Bali, but as I have only eaten inside the hotel that day and avoided tap water I was still surprised to get it. The staff tried to help me as much as they could but I was really miserable... Anyways, I was really really sick that night, suffered from high fever and severe dehydration. I needed to see a doctor but the staff said there is no doctor at night. The only option is to order a taxi that takes 20 minutes to arrive and that brings you to the next hospital, which is a 40-minute serpentine drive away from the hotel. Of course, this is not the hotel's fault but I think you should be aware of that before going on holiday in Balinese mountains. To get around in the mountains you should rent a scooter. Taxis are rare. Grab and Gojek didn't find us any drivers. Booking a taxi on booking.com actually worked best!

The rooms are very lovely with a beautiful view of the "djungle" and still you don't have to worry about any animals or insects - In four days we haven't seen anything else but birds inside the hotel! The pool is heated which is good because in the mountains it can get a bit cooler than in the rest of Bali. We were there in August and there were about 24 degrees (17 at night). The food at the restautant is in total really good (breakfast, lunch and dinner). There could be more different dishes for lunch and dinner but everything we tried tasted good.

Very bad comunication with the staff. Very long time to take care of every case. Ex. Restaurant order. Restaurant bill. No taxi contacts or info about activities around.

Localisation is fine, as we expected. In the middle of nowhere. Villa size is fine. Villa equipment very good.
