Although there are two seats on the porch of each cabin, a hammock or something more comfy to sit on would have been very nice.

The staff is amazing and goes out of their way to arrange everything for you (taxis, massage, jungle tracking). The little cabins are new and clean. The bed is very comfortable. The location is superb, right next to the river. And the jungle is the backyard.

The rooms are pretty warm even with a fan. Removing the heavy curtain from the top window with the fly screen would help with air circulation and cool the room down as there was a nice breeze. Our bottom room did not have a bed mosquito net in it so we had to use plenty of bug spray on my son who still got bitten even with the door closed.

Green Travelodge was a lovely oasis in the pretty village of Bukit Lawang. It is accessed by a suspension bridge and we were able to swim in the river just outside it. The related restaurant opposite was also very nice. It is a small private lodge and we felt very well cared for by all the staff. The well maintained garden was beautiful with many flowers and a lovely place to sit and relax in the cool breeze. We stayed in the family lodge which had two rooms, both with its own bathroom. The hospitality of the staff were so kind and generous. We appreciated the rapid responses from Jay regarding transfers from Medan and onward to Berastagi, lost flight luggage and flexibility options with the jungle trek with our 10 year old son to consider as I was concerned what to do if we had very heavy rain during our stay. The weather was fine and dry for us so no problems with leeches or very muddy slippery jungle paths. Our guides Aman (?) and Esharon (?) were so patient, helpful and kind with their information, care and respect. They fed us continuously with fresh fruit, tasty food and helped me (mum) with the especially steep rope parts of the trek. We saw orangutan 🦧 and many other monkeys, beautiful butterflies and gorgeous big trees. Esharon took my 10 year old son tree frog hunting (successful) and cat fish fishing (successful) in the night at the campsite. We loved the river swimming after both days trek and the “jungle taxi” back.

The bed sheets were extremely slippery and in the end we slept on a bare matress.

The location, accommodation and staff are excellent! The price is extremely friendly. If you want, they will get you ice-cold beer and water. Room with fan, no aircon, but was comfortable with 33 degrees outside temperature. To access it, you need a safe but wobbly pedestrian hanging bridge. Jack’s Bar across the river has two terraces and serves food.

Not a big deal, but the room is cooled by a fan. With the mosquito net around the bed it was hard to feel the coolness from the fan, but I did not want to get bitten by mosquitos in the night.

This was a gorgeous property, with many blooming flowers and cute bungalows. The staff were incredibly communicative. They helped to arrange pickup in Medan, and organized a jungle trek for my friend and I. We spent one night at the lodge and then went into the jungle for a two day, one night excursion. Dino (unsure of spelling) was our main guide and he showed us lots of great things in the jungle. We also saw many Orangutan during the trip! The tube ride at the end of the trip was really nice because the water was cold, and by then I was very sweaty and hot. Such a nice way to end the trip! They arranged a car back to Medan and let us use a shower. What a great place to visit. I will be staying here next time I come back!

Seriously the best decision we have made in our ten months travel. From Jays introduction to Deano and Riskys hospitality and trek to the jungle it's been the highlight of our trip. Could not recommend this place enough!

This place is awesome! It's such a beautiful, peaceful place with so amazing people! It was all very well organised. They helped whenever necessary, and they were so lovely with the kids - childcare was definitely included ;). We all enjoyed our stay there very much and we should have stayed longer....best place at Sumatra!

Nothing we didn't like.

The Room is Incredible, the Staff so so friendly and nice. Breakfast was great. They couldn't do enough for us. Even exchanged our money for local currency. Organised the Trek where we seen 4 Female Orangutan and 2 Babies, Chameleon, Macque Monkeys and the white water rafting back to the village and room was brilliant fun. Even sorted out our transport to the Airport at 5am. We will not forget our time there.

I guess nothing.

I red many reviews before booking this place and I new exactly what to expect. Indeed the location is great, the staff amazing and they do everything to please you. I happened to need a medical check and they arranged me a visit in a nearby village, where they took me on a scooter! Even the medic was very helpful and the total cost was incredible low. The jungle trek was a bit disappointing. In my opinion there were far more people than I expected, and far less animals and birds. But probably this depends on how lucky you are. Yet, being in a jungle for the first time it was an unforgettable experience itself. We dint do the rafting on return but spent about 6-7 hours in the woods. After the track we were exhausted.

Very beautiful house/rooms. I really loved the outdoor shower. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much for them. We also did the jungle trekking with Johnny and Chandra and it was awesome. Johnny told us a lot about the jungle and we have learned a lot from him. And of course we did see some orang utans. Very well recommended!

We liked the place, the staff, the cleanliness and the breakfast. The staff is absolutely kind and they helped us with everything, from excursions, explanations until taxi to the airport. We had a perfect full day in the jungle with our guide DINO who helped us with any doubt. We enjoyed and had fun while trekking. He is very funny and we recommend him 100% if you want to see the most beautiful animals such as big male orangutans, Thomas leaf monkeys, gibbons, birds and many more.
