Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndonesiaBoasting "green" in its name, I was surprised to see the amenities are in single use packaging. Would be better to use refillable pump bottles for the soap and shampoo. The Indonesian breakfast options are nice, but it lacked variety for the western style food.
The hotel was beautiful with its hundreds of plants. The room was sparkling clean and the employees were super friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the small pool and appreciated the free water bottle refill stations.

New ZealandYou could hear a lot of hallway/pool noise from the room (I was on second floor). There was a family in the pool before pool opening time early morning and they were quite loud.
Absolutely beautiful!! Comfortable and large bed.

NetherlandsWe opted for breakfast outside the hotel even tho we had paid for it because it didn’t look very inspiring.
The pool is really nice with all the greenery. The rooms are small but comfortable and the bed is really comfy. The staff is very friendly and helpfully. A lot of restaurants and cafes around by walking distance.

BelgiumEverything was great, just the noises and karaoke, since we just arrived from a long haul trip and wanted just to take a nap, but there was an event with live music, and also we could hear the noises directly from outside through the ventilator from the bathroom since they just covered it only with a metal net.
A boutique hotel with a hydroponic garden and indoor green landscape. The room is nice, clean, and cute, and it is near the food street and bars/restaurants. I like the breakfast and the set up next to the garden and swimming pool.

Hong KongThe wifi is pretty bad. and I can't find an approachable communication channel before I reach the hotel since my sim card can't make phone call in Indonesia but after we arrived all communication are good.
The sustainable concept is amazing. The hotel is surrounded by well managed plants. There is a rooftop farm. There is a water dispenser to refill my bottle with hot and cold water in the lobby. The water offered in the room is in glass bottle which will be reused. The room is also very beautiful especially when I opened the curtain in the morning and the sun came in from the window.

GermanyWhen I read the reviews complaining about the loud mosque next door I rolled my eyes and thought, cmon you’re a guest in this country, you can’t complain about these things. BUT after staying there, I can tell you that the mosque really IS a problem for your sleep. The early prayer at 4:00 AM will be blasted directly into your ears by the loudspeakers pointed at your window, and it will make you jump out of your bed. If at all possible, ask for a room on the other side of the building. Other than that, no major issues, I didn’t find the pool very inviting, as it’s not private, bordering the restaurant and a passageway to the next building. The breakfast was ok, I was just surprised it wasn’t included in the room rate.
Very original hotel, literally covered with plants. Kind and helpful staff. The new wing is brand new, the rooms are nicely fitted and squeaky clean. Thumbs up.

IndonesiaThe breakfast could be improved a little.
We loved staying at GreenHost Boutique Hotel! The location is very central, walking distance to a lot of restaurants, coffee places, bars, and close to the main tourist attractions by scooter/car. The hotel is built in a way that it is very cool when you step inside, a little haven of peace in the middle of the city. The bedrooms were comfortable and had everything we needed. Apart from a karaoke next door on the weekend (but that ended not too late), it was really quiet so we slept really well.

GermanyThe food in the restaurant was not good, either for the breakfast or evening meals. The WiFi was not always available in the room.
The hotel is a really unique place to stay. The decor is stylish and the rooms are clean and very comfortable, with excellent beds. The location of the hotel is also excellent, with lots of great restaurants and bars in the area, which is also not far from tourist attractions.
