Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaFrom the moment we arrived the staff were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble, from the snacks with our sunset drinks to traditional Balinese treats after our delicious breakfast and helping with local activities. Having an outside bath watching the rain and clouds whilst listening to the waterfall which you could see from our balcony was priceless! The room was clean with a great shower, comfy bed and pillows and filtered water to refill our bottles saving plastic was fantastic! The food was good and there was a great restaurant a short walk down the hill. We enjoy fitness and certainly needed it for the stairs although to be expected in the mountains.

The hosting family are super kind and take care of you like you are their family. We loved it there. The nature surroundings are beautiful, the house location (literally on a mountain next to a Waterfall) is epic and the massage was really good! We loved it!

United KingdomThere were a lot of stairs to our room, but the staff we happy to carry all our luggage. We had a waterfall view room, but the waterfall was mostly obstructed by trees, which had overgrown.
The staff were really helpful and even though we got stuck in traffic for 3 hours they kept the kitchen open late and prepared us a meal. The views from the restaurant were amazing. We would definitely recommend.

AustraliaGumi Ayu was absolutely amazing, the staff were beautiful and so friendly. The food was top notch with amazing views from the restaurant. The accommodation was a dream like a treehouse in the jungle with squirrels jumping through the trees. The sound of the waterfall and stream were so relaxing. Will be coming back.

United Kingdom- I would say that food isn’t the best (there are better restaurants around, such as the Ulekan and I’ve been to other places around Bali), but again - definitely good value for money. I am very picky with food so this is probably my only criticism.
- staff are above and beyond polite and helpful. It was raining when I arrived - they didn’t just carry suitcases down to my suite, but also covered it with a waterproof case to make sure the insides don’t get wet. I had an issue with my water dispenser and they fixed it within an hour. - rooms are very clean - don’t stay there if you don’t like the wildlife/ insects (as you’ll see occasional spiders and mosquitos given the location), but nevertheless they had everything needed to make your stay comfortable (nighttime anti insect plug; mosquito net around the bed etc). - as a solo female traveller I felt extremely safe

NetherlandsWe visited in rain season and therefore it was very humid. The clamboo was smelly, probably because of the humidity. And we had some bad luck with attracting 2 leeches, but thqt was really bad luck we think, because everything was very clean.
Beautiful location and very friendly staff. Bath outside and view on the waterfall was amazing.

This was a fabulous place to stay. You do need to be able to walk up and down steps - our room was down in the canyon in the jungle, with 142 steps (7 stories) to climb to get down and up. Having said that, the room was very comfortable with a gorgeous view of the jungle and a peek at a beautiful waterfall. There was plenty of space and the facilities were good. The breakfasts were fine and meals were eaten overlooking a magnificent view. The staff couldn't have been nicer. When we asked about a car to go to see a waterfall the Manager and his wife decided that they needed an outing and drove us there. We had dinner there and the food was good, especially the grilled tuna. They even had wine by the glass! We were very impressed by the young ladies who carried our heavy suitcases down and then back up on their heads! There are multiple waterfalls within hiking distance.

RomaniaMore humid than I was expected, but its nature, we were during the wet season. This is not a complaint addressed to the accomodation, rather to the weather :).
The landcape is magical. Next to our house there was a waterfall. The nature surrounding the accomodation is astonishing. The hosts were super friendly since we got there. It was raining and we were a bit cold on our way there and they`ve offered us some tea. The staff helped us with the heavy luggage we came with, as there are steps to cross to getting to your house. Breakfast delicious. Their restaurant has really good food. They`ve also helped me to rent a scooter from nearby area and it was delivered to our room when we got there. Only appraisal words.

BulgariaThe lovely location also has a downside, namely transportation. It can be quite tricky to find a driver if you are using Grab or equivalent apps. Thankfully, the staff at the hotel always helped us out.
The breakfast was excellent and so was the restaurant in general. The location is fantastic for a comfortable stay close to nature, and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

CanadaI found that you really need a scooter or car to really get around the area if you want to see a lot. I was ok just exploring on foot but it does limit how far you can go.
The staff and food were excellent and I really enjoyed my stay there. The room was comfortable, quiet and private.

RussiaSuch a lovely place to be in connect with nature. You can even hear the waterfall next to this place and explore around. There are a few houses on the territory with different various plans, all inside the garden. Also the restaurant in reception area with amazing view. All stuff was pretty nice, food quite delicious. Tile floor in the room really cold. Always keep your cool when driving in the mountains.

ItalyWent end of Feb, at the end of rainy season, and the humidity level was so high that everything gets wet, including the bed and clothes sitting in your closed luggage.
Amazing place, with a great view both from the room and restaurant. Very relaxing place, you can spot a lot of birds and squirrels from the room’s balcone. The staff was really helpful and kind, and food was great

Looking for a genuine warmth Balinese welcome? This is the place to be! The staff are incredibly kind and dedicated. They make you feel at home with a genuine smile at all times. I'm used to traveling and I must say I've never experienced such a welcome. Special mention for Godeh (sorry if i spell it wrong), the manager who set the bar to the next level! I love the fact that breakfast is freshly made every morning with fresh products (the strawberry jam, and the crepes: wow!). Thanks for arranging the dolphins spot tour, what a memorable moment! We were lucky enough to even spot a Mola Mola that morning!
