The reception staff were not as helpful as I would expect from an expensive place

A cash machine at the hotel would be helpful. We could not find a cash machine any where in Java, not even in Surabaya. Very frustrating and meant that local businesses that didn't take card missed out on sales. Especially when we climbed mount Ijen and couldn't buy anything from the hardcore miners who work in the worst conditions and are down in the crater selling their sulfur carvings.

The staff went out of their way to accommodate our needs, they were phenomenal. The pool and surrounding views were breathtaking and we were very happy with our room and it's views. Would absolutely recommend, it is perfect for visiting Mine Ijen and the blue flame, and you will be hard pushed to find a more stunning location for a hotel.

Food is overall not on par with the price range and otherwise great quality of the resort - both breakfast (which is basic and does not include espresso/cappuccino coffee) and dining options could be improved. Road to the location is overall fine, just noting that it's not the easiest reach as narrow near the resort, as long as with local taxis / transport no issues anyway.

Amazing views all around, fully immersed in the nature with a very relaxing atmosphere. Very nice, spacious and comfortable room.

Everything was good

Professional & Friendly staff. I was welcomed with a delicious drink. Room was very clean. SPA was fantastic, ladies have strong hands and technique was spot on! View of the volcano, mountains and rice field while enjoying a swim. A good size pool nothing extreme. Restaurant has a great view, food is good I had the braised meat cooked to perfection full of flavour.

It’s kinda far (but that’s why the scenery is beautiful). Shower and toilet are outdoor, maybe we need a glass roof on top to give some sense of security. The hair drier is a bit lame. But these are the only things.

Taxi service to banyuwangi town is expensive

Absolutely beautiful view, incredibly friendly staff instructed us on walks around the resorts and information on the ijen hike and offered us fresh fruit picked from trees in the resort. Super clean rooms and spacious terraces. One of my favourite hotels

Whilst the food was OK, it was not outstanding.

The location is absolutely stunning, set amongst Rice terraces, koi ponds and a backdrop of smoking volcanoes. One of the prettiest locations we have visited. The hotel staff were really helpful and kind.

The bath is too open. Insects flew into the room. Small selection of breakfast items. The stone paths on the territory are not convenient. Stuttered.

Very tasty fish in the restaurant. I love fish dishes. Beautiful views. Lots of flowers and plants on the hotel grounds. Opportunity to take a walk in the forest near the hotel.

The location is a bit hidden from Banyanwangyi city, many Grab drivers don't want to go there, and the road up there is small, so it's ok to give the driver a bit more money. But the whole place is really pretty, from the dinning room you can see many mountains the view of the hotel is perfect. Really suitable for a retreat or stay longer for relaxation. The room is spacious and comfortable, you also have a balcony with a great view. Overall very happy with the stay.

Perhaps should be a little more wheelchair friendly . We brought our 94 years old father , fortunately he can walk some but climbing the stairs to the reception area can be a challenge

We stayed at this resort 9 years ago and fell in love with the remoteness and beautiful surroundings. We brought our father and our kids here to spend 6 nights and we loved every moment of it . Even the gecko who make funny noises at night was just another uniqueness of this place . The staffs are exceptional . Love the view from our suites and the staffs goes above and beyond to all our requests . Even with the food they are flexible with our requests .

The frog jumped to the bathroom every night. The bath doesn’t look clean. Food options are very limited. There’s a small resto ran by a senior couple down the hills serving nice traditional Indonesian food and fresh coconut.

Ijen resort is beautifully located in the rice fields. It’s very peaceful and quiet. The superior room we stayed in was big and has a nice outdoor sitting area. Nice massage and cocktails. They even packed breakfast at 12am for our midnight ljen tour.

The location is a bit remote

We booked for four nights, the hotel upgraded us into a much bigger room with an astonishing view. The staffs are very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was pretty tasty, and there’s no mosquitos in the area which is much preferable. We really enjoyed our stay there!

Spectacular location, set in lush tropical gardens, my beautiful villa overlooked the rice terraces, coconut palm trees, banana plantations and volcanos. It was a real pleasure to sit and enjoy a coffee on my private terrace overlooking the magnificent tropical landscape. This beautiful hotel is truly hidden. You have to drive through little villages and tropical surroundings to arrive at the hotel. A truly natural place to stay, the open-air restaurant and swimming both overlook the rice terraces. My villa was spacious and tastefully decorated in Javanese style, #janetstravelstyle
