Hot water would have been good. I found the trip from Bukit Lawang to Lake Toba, stressful due to the driving style of the driver. There were a coupe of times that I thought we would crash.

The room was clean, and equipped with everything you need. Including mosquito net, & outside seating area. Consistent & fast internet. The staff were so accommodating , really helpful and kind. The trekking experience was unforgettable, very well organised and the team ensured that you saw as much as possible , using their collective knowledge & skills. I learnt so much about the local environment, the diversity and impact of human activity in the jungle. The jungle trekking team were super respectful to the animals and very attentive to our 'own needs'. Thankyou for making this a trip I shall ALWAYS remember.

The stay itself. Maybe you can't expect more from the price but I had to ask for blanket and towel, there is only running water if you ask for it, no toilet seat on the toilet, no toilet paper, basically no shower, no lighting in the room and the room is hotter than outside, which is barely alleviated by the fan inside.

The Trekking Tour and its Organisation we're truly fantastic! Good communication to the organizer and host, the guides were amazingly knowledgeable, funny and caring.

We were very well received in this hostels and rooms are very good for the price, I recomand to book the treck only with them and not in other office. The team for the treck was great, Coco the guide was amazing, he is so fun and he really take care of us. We loved spending 3 days by his side. The food was delicious, thank you Jonny ! We saw many orang-outang and others monkeys. It has been a great experience. Thank you for sharing many things and we will miss you.

There was nothing we didn’t like. Just for information the breakfast included in the stay is in the form of Tambrin giving you money so you can go have breakfast in a local restaurant.

The guesthouse was at a great location and the host was very friendly and organized anything you needed. We did 2 day trek and everything was great. We saw many animals (including orangutans) and had plenty of food - the guide Tambrin and his assistant put lot of effort into making it the best time for you. Definitely recommend going on this trek with Tambrin!

The tour was well organized. Tom never stopped looking for new discoveries and we saw a lot of Urang Utans, monkeys and other intersting animals and plants. Tom speaks english well and is a great tour guide that never feeds the animals.

Review about the room: As can be seen in the pictures, this stay is really basic. There’s no bedsheets and in our case, parts of the door to the bathroom were missing. Unfortunately our muscito net had multiple holes which we tried to fix for the night. Fan worked but the room remained damp and sweaty. Shower was okay but with limited waterpressure.

Definitely recommend the tour, guide was knowledgeable, respected the jungle and its inhabitants, and creates a good vibe with jokes and singing. During the trek we experienced the full beauty of the jungle and saw everything we wanted to see while having plenty of breaks for resting, water, and fresh fruits. Dinner was delicious and the camp was, as should be expected in the jungle, basic while meeting all requirements. Closing our 2-day trek with tubing was refreshing and fun. Review about room: The owner is friendly and wants to help out where he can. Sometimes this may be difficult as he’s on jungle tours but in this case he still tries to find a way to make it work with help of his family. Combined with downsides explained below it’s a room that is doable for its price as long as you know what you’re up for.

Great location, just a short walk from the river and all the local restaurants and shops. Tambrin sorted all my trekking, I did a 3 day jungle tour and saw amazing orangutans, langur, gibbons, macaques.... everything. And our guide was knowledgeable, and a really funny nd friendly guy.

Accommodation is fairly basic, but great value for the price. I had breakfast included, but instead I got a breakfast allowance to spend elsewhere, which is fine but just something to be aware of.

Despite the name and photos of the jungle, this is indeed accommodation. Tambrin is a nice guy, organised a jungle trek for me and picked me up and dropped me off from the bus station (if you have time, the local bus is cheap and pretty easy - just sit up the front where there’s more leg room!). The guesthouse location is great, close to the river with plenty of local restaurants and shops nearby.

There was no shared kitchen as listed on here. Communication about the tour before we got there at times felt a little intense but I gather now that this is quite standard regardless of where you book in Bukit Lawang.

The jungle trek was incredible! Tambrin is an excellent and friendly guide with the most wonderful laugh. He made our night in the jungle so much fun with games and songs and we saw so many orangutans, gibbons, monkeys and a peacock. Our other guide Anwar was also fantastic, knowledgeable and great to talk to. They gave us more food and fruit than we could ever eat and adapted the tour route so we could see as much wildlife as possible. The accommodation was not completely as described on booking.com but was in many ways better. The guesthouse is the one in the pictures with the garden, it also has WiFi and private bathrooms which were not mentioned. The location was great next to a lot of restaurants and shops and the Happy Track Tour office which made it very easy to arrange onwards transport.

The owner is the best person, so helpful, lovely and friendly, he took really good care of me, organized me a jungle trekking tour with a great company and my guide Jack was absolutely amazing too! the day after he even drove me to the bus station to take to local bus as transport to go to Medan which was obviously so much cheaper and still comfortable. It’s a very good place, I highly recommend it :)

The location was great, the room is simple but has everything you might need (including a fan and a mosquito net), the owner was very friendly and kind. There's also a wooden bench and table in front of each room, facing a cute little garden. The trek organised by the owner was also amazing, I highly recommend it!

I did. the one day jungle trekking tour with Tambrin and it was fantastic! I saw so many Orang-Utans and he explained a lot about the jungle. I would definitely recommend the tour with him (he also offers several day tours which is what most people do) and if I ever come back I’ll definitely do a trek with him again. :) accommodation was also good value for money.

It is cosy and quiet and has a small garden which makes me comfortable. There is a good restaurant next to it. I enjoyed cheap and good food there. And I met my trekking guide TAMBRIN there. He speaks good English. He is very good at making orangutans come close so I can take a lot of good pictures. The lunch he provided was also very nice. I miss him and hope to come again with my friends to go jungle trekking with him. Thank you TAMBRIN.
