Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsWords can not explain how beautiful this place is! Staying at Ketut is a unique experience on a whole other level. The accommodation is located in the center of Ubud so you can stroll down the streets. Ketut and his sons are really helpful and will help you arrange a scooter or transfer for example. During our stay, we were also invited to join dinner made by his beautiful wife. The food and overall experience were amazing.

NetherlandsThe Wifi could be a bit more improved. The beds could be a bit more comfortable.
A friendly family hotel with a very authentic and interesting garden. If you don't mind the steps, I strongly recommend getting a room which is by the cliff side. It was overlooking beautiful greenery and it feels more private. Great value for money. Very zen and peaceful!

IrelandShower was not working properly which was a little disappointing.
Loved our short stay here. Comfortable, clean and quiet room. Lovely pool and gardens. Kind and helpful staff. Delicious breakfast and lunch. And as a wonderful bonus, there was a very special buffet dinner with a talk from our host Ketut. It was interesting and a lovely meal. Excellent value too. I hope to come back.

AustraliaBreakfast was included - it was simple, but adequate - not a negative, just managing expectations.
Excellent location, beautiful buildings and gardens, and a fantastic room (we opted for the deluxe suite type room - #13 - incredible!). Ketut and his extended family live within the compound in their own separate quarters - a very traditional Balinese way of living. The buildings are beautiful, with ornate carvings, and traditional style - well kept and maintained. The whole complex is built descending towards the neaby river ravine. There are quite a few stairs if you stay in one of the deluxe ravine-facing rooms - so keep this in mind. Lovely, helpful, welcoming staff - Ketut performs in the Sunday and Thursday night Kecak dance, which is performed in a temple about 200m down the road from the accommodation - he's very proud of his accommdation and local village - and it shows. Overall, a lovely experience.

AustraliaThere is everything to like about this place! It is family run(they are exceptionally accommodating and sweet natured). The rooms are immaculate, peaceful and private. You enter the place from a busy street and move into a beautifully tranquil paradise. The cost is minimal and meals are very good. The pool is very well maintained and overlooks the green valley with river below. Highly recommended.

Loved talking with Ketut, his family and all staff. They were all so lovely and kind, we even extended our stay! Lovely breakfast to our room every morning including a juice and hot drink, in a beautiful, quiet and safe environment. They helped us booked tours and transport wherever and whenever we pleased, as well as giving us honest advice for the rest of our trip around Indonesia.

I absolutely loved Ketut's Place. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle but close enough for an easy stroll into town. Short walk up to the rice paddies and jungle. The gardens are beautiful and well kept, the view over the valley is stunning, and the massage rooms are peaceful and relaxing (no traffic noise!). There is much useful attention to detail in the room - a powerboard next to the bed, shelving to put your things, powerpoint on the terrace, etc. The staff are absolutely wonderful, and there is a restaurant attached that will bring food to your room or the poolside if desired. I booked a standard room, but if you can afford the deluxe rooms (with the view of the valley), do it. I highly recommend Ketut's Place as a great-value place to stay in Ubud.

ArmeniaWonderful place! If you are looking for an authentic Balinese experience with locals then this place is for you. A centrally located guesthouse owned by a local Balinese family. They are ready to help with any request. The place is serene and is surrounded by lush forest. The architecture was also stunning. They serve variety types of local breakfasts every morning. I also enjoyed participating in community ceremonies in the nearby temple.
