Everything (literally and not just out of laziness). Jay (the host) is extremely helpful with whatever you need. He’ll arrange transport, trips go out for food with you and just provides an amazing atmosphere in the hostel.

Very good vibes. The staff is chilled and helpful (thanks Jay!). Bedrooms and bathroom are clean and smell good. Bed are comfortable and large. The rooftop is a very nice plus where you can hangout at night or when it's rainy outside. Good wifi on all floors. Strongly recommend overall

The private I initially booked had a large number of airbricks in the wall and you could hear people very clearly outside - every word like they were in the room with you! I had to reject it and was given a dorm to myself (for one night). The hostel needs a second bathroom really.

Staff so helpful and some are ecellent English speakers. Location by the river. Dorm beds very large/private. Quiet dorms/corridors. Terrace great with superb views. Tea/coffee/cold water, aircon throughout. Good restaurants/shops nearby.

Clean, friendly place to stay in a good location near to the ferry port. The staff are very helpful in organising transport to other locations, repairing phones & taking you to local restaurants! Nothing is too much trouble for them! The rooftop chilli-out area is a big bonus too! Thanks for a great stay in Padang & I hope to see you all again one day! ☺

Nice place with a cool common area on the top floor. I only stayed here for one night, to catch the ferry to Mentawai the next morning. It’s just a couple minutes of walking away from the jetty. When I arrived, I immediately got invited by Jay from the hostel to join him and the other guests for lunch, which was great and really tasty.

I initially booked the ensuite bedroom, but I ended up using the shared bathroom turned out to be much better than the ensuite one, which was cold and dirty. My recommendation would be to save your money and opt for the regular bedroom with the shared bathroom instead.

The staff here are the best! The location is really convenient for accessing the harbor to catch the ferry to the Mentawais. They have a truck that can transport your big surf bags to and from the airport, and they even took care of organizing the ferry tickets.

Brother Git and Surya make your stay perfect and take care about their guests like no other. Doesn’t matter if you need a surfboard, medicine, food or whatever they will provide it for you. Love you guys - see you next year!

Small untraditional bathroom with no sink but passable for an overnight stay.

Extremely friendly staff - helped to find ATM and assisted in buying the ferry ticket, also suggested nice local restaurants. Very close to the harbor to catch the ferry in early morning. Small room but fine for an overnight stay, with a comfortable bed and AC.

There’s only one shower for a lot of beds, so if the hostel full I’d hate to see the queue. It also needs a good scrub (not dirty, I’ve seen a lot worse!).

I really enjoyed my time here. The staff, Suriya and Jay, are friendly and even took me to get local Padang food (a trip highlight). The beds are big and comfy and the shared space is a good spot to chill out (plus, a fridge you can use).

Bathroom needed a good scrub. Roof lounge is great, but was too hot to fully enjoy unfortunately.
