LOVE this family run guesthouse with a delicious restaurant onsite. Ari & his team are so welcoming, friendly & accommodating! The property & room is beautiful, spacious, clean, comfortable & so peaceful surrounded by rice fields. Wade (Ari’s brother) provided custom tours that somehow beat the crowds even though we started at 9am! He caters to each guest’s desires perfectly, is an amazing driver, guide & photographer!! Ari also added a couple impromptu stops during transfers which were so great!!

Kubu Bakas guesthouse exceeded expectation, we enjoyed all aspects as we were not expecting a five star resort. The local village and religious ceremony's added to the great stay.

When booking read carefully and you will be very happy. The location is rural with views across rice fields and mountains to ocean views in the distance. The food available at Kubu Bakas is freshly prepared and delicious. Transport and tours were great value and easily organised through the guesthouse. The rooms are comfortable and incredible value and experience for every traveler.

Nope - all was excellent.

Absolutely excellent find - I'm so glad I came and stayed here for a couple of nights. Such a peaceful spot, with the bonus of stunning views reaching right down to the sea. There's a great little warung on site where they were kind enough to make me something 'off menu' to meet my fussy veggie requirements; in fact, nothing is too much trouble here. I came on a scooter and loved exploring the area - it's the perfect base if you're looking to get off the typical tourist trail.

True Bali, sharing of life and local living, my kids had a great time playing with Ari's son (their favorite part of the stay). Attention to detail. AC was nice in the room, food at the Warung was good. We had 2 nice tours with Wade (Ari's brother).

The cottages are simple yet very charming, spacious and well equipped (even with an open shower!) and offer a view over the rice fields just like the small warung that serves local dishes, a complete calmness reigns at all times of day. This is a family owned business where you have this proximity with the people that work there as well the owner of the hotel Ari, who is an excellent person. He goes above and beyond to make sure you have a wonderful stay. He introduced me to his everyday life which made my stay a magical experience from start to finish. A great recommendation is to take the full day tour with him, a complete day with several stops that are truly amazing!! Would love to go back one day!!

Nothing, everything was Perfect

We feel very Welcome from the First Minute. Kubu Bakas Guest is located in beautiful Ricefields. In the Evening you can sit outside enyou the Sunset, Watch the Birds with a nice breath and a cold Beer or fresh Juice The Breakfast was awesome. Every Morning we get a Little Sweet Special with Cocos, Omelett, Fruit Platter and very Good Bali Coffee. The Restaurant is very Good with typical Indonesien Food for a really fair Price. Ari the owner and his staff are really friendly. We Rent a very Good Scooter from Ari to Explore the area and we make a one day Tour with Ari. He Show us beautiful Spots and we go the a local Market to eat some typical Indonesian Food. Its the Perfect Spot to visit Ubud, Sidemen , beautiful Temple and Waterfalls , Tegallang Rice Terrasse and you can go snorkeling in the Blue Lagoon. Its a Perfect Place to stay Longer. The Village is quiet and nice and not so loud und busy as Ubud. The Guest House has everythink you Need for a wonderfull stay Thank you Ari and your Team for wonderful 4 days When we come back we will stay again with you

Really we liked everything and are dying to come back. If you are looking to go partying though this is not the place - but the vibe is very nice.

It is situated in the rice paddies out where you can avoid the hustle and the bustle and go exploring on a scooter. The hosts are super nice and accommodating. There is so much nature around. The rooms are beautiful with aircon.

Free tip: keep in mind that you are on the countryside, so don't eat outside under the bright lights in the kitchen area when it is dark. We tried that once and there were literary hundreds of flies, bugs and other creatures flying in our food.

Very friendly staff, especially Ari. Thank you very much for your hospitality! The communication was good and open and they care about you. The restaurant at the location serves tasty food and drinks: also for a good price. Our room was clean and the semi outside bathroom also. Our room also contained lots of facilities; like coffee, tea and a kettle. Bike rental is possible on the location; for a good price. At last, the breakfast was really good.

Very peaceful and exuded kind of place. The little bungalows are very cute and i loved the open bathroom. Their restaurant is at the entrance so you can eat there during your stay. The owners are veryyyy very kind!! Always there to help. Loved my relaxing stay there. I felt comfortable right away and the shower pressure is very good!!! There is hot water too

We loved this place so much! The bungalows are beautifully made, large and comfortable. Shower with hot water. Good wifi (we work remotely so this is always a big plus for us). Great A/C. The owner was super friendly and welcoming. He made a bonfire one night and spent time talking with us. Great breakfast. Small warung onsite, so you can have drinks and food there. I love that the local kids came and played nearby. We felt part of the community. The location is perfect, in the middle of the rice fields next to a small village. If you want to discover the real Bali, far away from the crowds, this is the place! Highly recommended!

Nothing it was all brilliant.

The property was cosy, clean and very welcoming. The room was lovely and clean. The owner Ari was brilliant and so was his brother too. Their customer service was incredible and they took pride in helping us. They checked in with us throughout our stay and always offered to help. The food was absolutely delicious, think our favourite was the fried banana for breakfast! When it came to leaving our taxi driver cancelled on us, so Ari’s brother offered to take us to our next stay which was in Ubud. We were blown away with this kindness and service. We would highly recommend staying here as it’s was truly one of the best places we have stayed in the whole of Bali.

We had a great time at Kubu Bakas Guest House. The house was so nice, you can enjoy the nature. The bungalows were really charming, made of natural materials. At the moment I arrived I already felt that Ari is my friend. He is a great host that genuinely cares about the experience of his guests. The room is really nice, they clean it every day of your stay. This is a place for someone looking to find a nice quiet place to relax and travel to waterfalls around. I was working remotely, so I just sat all day in the common area and ordered food and drinks. Had a great time, hope to see you again Ari!
