Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe sound of the many mosques that open at 3:20 in the morning does not make you relax and you do not really have a holiday.
Location and staff OK.

NetherlandsYou cannot charge food to your room, so you need to bring your cc or cash with you if you go for lunch/dinner/drinks. We needed to pay extra for orange juice in the morning, which was not known before (breakfast was included). You cannot fly your drone around the property (of course not towards the rooms), no mentioning of no-fly zone. Not much to do around the resort itself. Wifi in the tents is not very fast, at the restaurant wifi speeds were very good.
Location is very nice. Tents are fantastic, nice, enough space, clean. Staff was friendly, food was good. The SPA/massages were really good! We booked the Ijen tour which was very good, although our guide did not speak English.

GermanyNothing the hotel can do anything about, but the prayers and chants from a nearby mosque unfortunately cut through the tranquility of the place a couple of times a day (does not seem to be an exception though).
Obviously, the location „in the middle of the rainforest“ is the hotel’s main attraction, and it does indeed deliver on that. Despite that everything is being kept as clean as possible around the hotel area. Rooms were spacious with a nice view of the forest and the creek below. Very attentive and friendly staff.

United Arab EmiratesWe're from Dubai and know the Muslim religion and Mosques during prayer. But the prayers started very early, 3:30 a.m., and lasted quite a while. Although not their fault and something they can do anything about, this was our biggest critique.
Extremely friendly staff and great facilities. The surroundings are stunning. They were always eager to assist and service was better than expected. They even packed us a delicious lunch the day we left early to catch our train.

United KingdomThe room was a bit damp, but bearable and very comfortable and clean. However we did find the hotel charged quite a significant amount of money for travel and laundry (over £10) for one small bag - which is more than what we would pay in a UK laundrette. This is only in comparison to prices throughout the rest of Indonesia. The properly did not offer any motorbike or car rental, so due to the location of the property we were left with no other option than to pay the prices. We were told that there was a free shuttle bus, but ended up having to pay 300000 rupiah for a taxi to take us 20 minutes down the road to the train station on the day of our departure.
The properly was very different to where we have stayed previously, secluded in the forest and a nice change to what we were used to. The food was amazing (especially big breakfast and ribeye steak). The staff were extremely helpful.

GreeceWe had higher expectations for the food at the restaurant. The recipes were classic, looked good, but the taste didn't match the high quality of the hotel (and we are not choosy with the food at all). Just we had much better food in much cheaper places, so our recommendation is to try to improve the overal taste of the food, as the variaty of choices were pretty good. (keep in mind that this subjective and many people could find the food tasty)
The staff went above and beyond to make our stay incredible! All our needs and requests were handled in a timely manner. Helped us a lot with booking a transportation to the port, at the very last moment. Overall everything was amazing: the room, attentiom to details, the atmosphere, and the area around if you want to waste few hours (e.g. biking)

AustriaOn Google there was a picture of a pool which unfortunately was uploaded by a customer from another hotel. Kunang Kunang has a small pool which they call "water hole". It's nice for a quick refreshment, but you can't really lie at the pool.
The location is amazing! Staying in the tents in the middle of the jungle is such a fantastic experience. The restaurant serves amazing cuisine and also the breakfast is incredible. Its also a great base for visiting Ijen and relaxing at the hotel afterwards. The staff is super friendly as well!

Tranquil peaceful, amazing, helpful, happy welcoming staff that treat you so well. The food is also excellent here . I highly recommend it. Close to Banyuwangi. Far enough away to rain, which breaks the heat of Jawa. I love it here. A true Gem 💎

we stayed in the Binar tent. it was lovely and quiet. it rained most of the time, but it didn’t bother us as we enjoyed watching the stream and the rain from the room. we had dinner at the restaurant and loved the food. We drank coffee overlooking the river one morning which was so peaceful. the staff were very lovely and attended to any request. Such a special and unique pace to visit. it was the perfect place to read, turn off the iPhone and just enjoy nature.

United KingdomWow! What an incredible place. You'll stay in dome style luxurious tents with incredible views over the forest. It's spotlessly clean, the staff are super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious - as was all the other food we had there. Definitely try out the BBQ - it's a cool experience. Although you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere, you've got everything you need right here. You're also only a 45 minute drive from Ijan. You can arrange a tour via the hotel or just Google a local company to come and pick you up, it's easy. Amazing place. We'll be back! Thank you.
