Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaSome nights can get quite warm due to the absence of air conditioning or a fan. But that discomfort is very well balanced from the perfection of all the rest!
What a stunning place! Like paradise! Beautiful reef for snorkeling full of colorful fish; nice huts; delicious food and drinks; super friendly staff; perfect for relaxation!

FranceSome nights can get quite warm due to the absence of air conditioning or a fan, which is understandable given the island's remote location. One suggestion for enhancement would be to improve the shower facilities, as the water flow was somewhat challenging, making it difficult to wash hair effectively.
The setting is truly remarkable: vibrant corals, stunning fish, young sharks, crystal-clear blue waters, and pristine white sand. We truly feel like we're on a tropical paradise island. There are various activities available in good weather, and the organization is exceptional, allowing us to have some personal time while also facilitating new connections with others. It's refreshing to occasionally escape civilization for a detox experience.

IndonesiaFood choices, selection, availability and serving time can be point of improvement. Also for the drinks.
The resort is run on eco-sustainable basis, which is a plus point. It goes without saying, in terms of managing in the remote individual island typically has its own challenges. But, the hotel staff are really supportive. During stay, I had an unfortunate high-tide and extreme moonsoon wind and rain, causing transfer boat closure and logistic issue for the week ahead. Management is really good handling this to mitigate guest safety as priority. Most of rooms are facing sea front, its either a tent or hut style, depends on selection. With no air con, and fan-on for daytime only, guests are better well-informed and prepare for weather situation. Some months maybe are more hot and humid, than that of in general. But, staying like this encouraging us to reset our mindset, bring books.

New ZealandYou have to be prepared for the heat over night, the mosquito nets don't let much breeze through and there is no fans or anything (as they stated upfront). Also there is frequent smell of sewage around the place.
The location is absolutely stunning and remote, the staff are amazing and the food was delicious. We loved watching movies on the beach under the stars and snorkelling in our own private coral reef. Also the sunsets were incredible!

United KingdomI booked a beach hut. It was super comfy however unbearably hot in the sun. I struggled sleeping both nights, but I put it down to the experience. It would have been nice to have cushions on the boat as it was a little uncomfortable. The shower areas need looking at as the water was trickling out. Difficult to get the sand off of your body.
This was an exceptional beach experience. It fully met my expectations and more. Boat transfer was lovely and relaxing. Staff welcomed everyone upon arrival. Pure paradise island, accommodation was lovely, food was outstanding, bar including happy hour was great. Lovely cocktails. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were amazing. Equipment and towels provided, shower area was good.

United KingdomThe only thing that we struggled with was the heat. It is an eco resort that runs on solar power, so the fans go off when it gets dark. Mosquitos abound, so the muslin netting was essential! Bug spray and repellent were provided in the room. However, there was no breeze at night, so the huts were very hot and sticky, which made sleeping difficult. My son also got a severe bought of food poisoning or bali belly on day three. He really was very ill for 24 hours with a very high temperature. Although staff were super helpful and provided lots of ice, which I wrapped in a flannel for his head. The other thing that concerned me was another review that seemed to show raw effluent being dumped into the sea at night. This may explain why parts of the reef had algae blooms. This is obviously very un-eco friendly, and there was us conscientiously using our reef safe suntan cream! To be honest, this place exists because of the reef. If this is destroyed due to malpractice by the hotel, that would be very sad indeed.
We had a fabulous three days in this magical resort. It really was paradise. The place has been beautifully thought out, constructed and landscaped with lots of palm trees. The small beach is surrounded by a reef which has an incredible variety of colourful fish. So snorkelling was a must several times a day. The staff were all very friendly, polite, and attentive to your every need. Food was delicious and generous sized portions, although a bit more expensive than the main land.

AustraliaNo big complaints, it was mostly amazing. We were there for 4 nights and eventually would have appreciated a change in sheets or a turndown service as our sheets got pretty sandy by the end. I am nervous on boats and would have loved more information about the boat as well as the water/ weather conditions beyond just a photo of the boat.
It was such a magical experience with amazing snorkeling with a great variety of fish and coral, a fun glamping experience (yes it’s hot at night, but part of the experience, and the island is a good place to be tired!). The island is super social and a great place to make friends. The food was very healthy and delicious. Loved the movie night under the stars. The walk up the hill was great to watch the sunrise.

United KingdomThe dead coral all over the beach wasn’t ideal.
Absolutely everything. It was stunning, the food is good and the staff are lovely. We stayed in a sunrise villa right on the beach and it was just amazing. The only downside is the beach is full of dead coral so it isn’t very Sandy in most parts but this can’t be helped. There are loads of sharks in the shallow water which was really cool (only small reef sharks!)

IndonesiaI appreciate the fact that the concept of the resort is to be mindful of the planet - a no-plastic policy and solar energy only (no generator noise and fresh food are a bonus) but we did struggle with the heat, especially at night. I guess it is the price one has to pay.
What a beautiful island! We loved the view from our bungalow and thoroughly enjoyed the snorkeling. The staff is a true asset - they are professional and friendly and run the place efficiently. The food is delicious. Having a movie night under the stars with the sea as a backdrop was a first for me - brilliant idea. It is a place I would love to return to and that I would highly recommend.

United KingdomOur two night stay on Pirate Island was fabulous. Felt like paradise! Our beach front room was amazing. Tastefully appointed and spotlessly clean. You could just walk straight from the room into the sea and do the most incredible snorkelling amongst the coral reef - absolutely beautiful. The staff were excellent and worked hard to make everyone feel welcome and well looked after.

GreeceThe palm trees are not high enough yet and so it gets quite hot in the huts . Unfortunately the reef in front is mostly destroyed and dead . There are many tourists who can’t swim and step constantly on the Corals left - it’s a pity to see this ! Though you may see some fishes and riff sharks still.
Very nice island feeling with a professional well organized marketing and targeted for western tourists. Nice bungalows on the beach and good relaxing atmosphere!

GreeceI would suggest to put fans in every bungalow as the nights are hot sometimes .The water in the public shower needs more power. As last I would suggest to put a container with sea water under every stairs of the tents. So you can clean your feet before you go up to your room.

NetherlandsThe glamping beachfront tent didn’t have a fan so it was very warm at night and had to sleep with the mosquito net and sides open. Would be nice if there is some information/help to book Komodo trips from the island itself. Now you have to do it in Bajo or arrange a dive trip.
Very unique accommodation! Beautiful island, beach and great location near Komodo/Bajo. Staff is super nice and food is good with enough options. The dive center on the island is very convenient to do courses, shore dives and arrange Komodo dive trips.
