Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe food is fine.. it’s a bit isolated. But none of this matters for 3 days of bliss and peace.
The villa/cabin was beautiful. Well designed, simple, and calming. The views of the rice fields never get old. We had the top floor and enjoyed sunsets.

Absolutey splendid place even if it is rather on the basic side. In the middle of rice fields. On the upper floor you can see the sunrise and the sunset. The staff was very friendly and helpful! Nothing was to much of a hassle. The food (we eat only indonesian food) was delicious. thank you

United StatesSituated in a small village and surrounded by rice fields, it was magical to wake up with a view of rice terraces. The room was big and very clean. It could get quite warm in the room without an a/c but the hotel provides a super powerful fan, so it was not an issue. The restaurant has very good food and you can book many activities through the hotel. You can do selfguided walk around the rice fields, but we chose to do it with a guide and it was one of the most memorable days of our trip to Bali. Our guide, Willy, was very informative about all stages of growing rice and life in Bali, he is such a wonderful and delightful person to talk to. We are so happy we chose to do a guided walk. All other staff were also very nice, humble and polite. The hotel also has a spa where you can get a massage. It was good quality and well priced.

Our experience was incredible from beginning to the end. The staff was very welcoming and professional, they showed us in, we received a welcome drink in a beautiful setting and then we were personally shown into our rooms. Our group booked 4 rooms and all of them were new-looking, super clean, had all the facilities needed and incredible terraces with chairs, table and a sofa to chill on and admire the views right from our room. I loved that the windows were at both sides of the room which gave even better views into the stunning area this place is located in. Lush green rice fields everywhere around you. The bed had a mosquito net, and windows had curtains blocking the light if you want to sleep in. The pool was clean and with another beautiful view, the staff even personally brought us pool towels. Food for dinner and breakfast was also delicious. Overall it was a really great experience that we all enjoyed so much. Thank you!

AustraliaMy favourite place in Munduk so far! The property is beautiful, tucked away in a quiet part of the area among gorgeous rice paddies. The view from the restaurant is stunning, you can see all the way to the volcanos of Java. The staff were so sweet and attentive, the food was delicious and well-priced. The breakfast was huge. The room was beautiful, so clean and well-thought out. They even had a yoga mat which we used for morning stretching overlooking the rice paddies. The onsite massage and facial was wonderful and the pool perfect for a dip. Highly recommend.

United StatesThat I can't live here :-(
I stayed for 4 days and wished it was longer. The hotel is smack dab in the middle of a rice field and the views especially from the Green room are so gorgeous. I spent hours just sitting on the private balcony watching the sun set or a lightning/thunderstorm. Rooms are basic but well-appointed and have everything you need - there is no AC and I didn't find it necessary. While I'm sure there are more high-end "boutique" hotel experiences around, I appreciate that Lesong is run by a local family. The staff are so knowledgeable and helpful, arranging drivers/tours for me even at the insanely early hours I requested. I HIGHLY recommend taking one of their own tours, including the jungle trek, which was an awesome opportunity to learn about the local indigenous culture/history! While some may find it "isolated" because it's not in the center of Munduk, I personally loved the slower pace, walking around through the villages without hectic traffic or throngs of tourists.

It was the most picturesque place to stay in Munduk for sure. The staff were excellent with suggesting where to go and giving directions. We hired a scooter at the hotel which made our lives easier. It's in a great location if you want to go chasing waterfalls. Massages were great every time. The pool is amazing with the best view.

RussiaLike I said, these are not really disadvantages given how much we liked the place. Elated as we were with the whole experience, we kinda expected more in terms of food (it's not bad, but nothing to rave about). And the location of the hotel is such that you certainly need to travel from it to get to anywhere interesting. Still, we're coming back
The staff is magnificent (besides going out of their way to help us, they won our hearts by fighting to preserve the memory of their tribe), the scenery and the skyviews at night are divine. Massages are very good. It's one of those rare places where even the cons feel like charming quirks. Had I known their internet was so reliable, I would have stayed for longer

Nestled up in the rice fields, Lesong was most definitely a highlight of our 5 week stay in Bali! Firstly I would like to say a big thank you to Willy and the entire team at Lesong! They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and that we had a great time. From arranging tours and transport for us to guiding us to the trekking paths around the hotel, I can’t appreciate enough how great the staff was. The room and the bathroom were clean, spacious and very well furnished. Not a lot of options to eat around the hotel, but the restaurant at the hotel is quite exceptional. We didn’t realise (or bother to check, thinking that it’s an obvious given) when we made the booking, that the hotel has no AC-this is the only concern we had going in to check in, but when we actually got there, we were more than comfortable with just the fan. As it’s quite chilly at night up in Munduk. So that wasn’t a bother at all in the end. There’s good internet in the rooms too, I was able to work remotely without interruption as well on the comfortable desk and chair in room. This place is definitely a good break from the crazy hustle and bustle of rest of Bali. A must-go!

DenmarkMunduk doesn’t really have a city centre, so the placement is kind of irrelevant. We were worried about it being too isolated, but this is a great place to stay and explore from. The hotel also has a lot of options for exploring Munduk, and everyone should try the hotels own cooking class which is awesome in its own right.
Lesong Hotel was a special experience for us. An amazingly cozy and beautiful place to be. The staff were beyond great, without a doubt the best service we have ever gotten when staying at a hotel.

We did their Truck to Nowhere tour and found it a wonderful way to see the local village. We took a dip in a beautiful waterfall and had it all to ourselves. I highly recommend this beautiful hotel and would love to return for a longer stay. Thanks Lesong!!!

DenmarkOnly downside is no air con in the rooms, but it is so cool that it is a very minor negative.
Amazing place nestled amongst the rice fields, cooler due to the altitude and a peaceful atmosphere. The food was wholesome and tasty (best pancakes in Bali) and the staff were friendly and humble. We both got a Balinese massage, and it was the best we’ve had so far.

United KingdomWhen we arrived we were a bit surprised (probably not having read the description thoroughly) that there was no air conditioning in the room and no fridge. This probably goes with their policy of being ecological. But none of this was an issue because the temperatures were actually a bit cooler there so the fan was enough.
You are in the middle of nowhere there but there is still lots to do (walks, massages, trips). The staff take very good care of you and help you organise your activities. When we were ill they made us a special Balinese remedy which helped us get better. We loved the water dispenser where you could fill up what you needed. Finally, no need for plastic bottles. The food is freshly cooked and the kitchen is open all day. The massages were great.

AustraliaThe resort is quite isolated and the roads are narrow, winding and very steep in places. The journey from Kuta is only some 85 km, but can take up to 3 hours. Enjoy the trip, and stay for at least 3 nights.
Our upper-floor room was excellent - stunning views and very private. It was spacious and comfortably furnished and the bathroom worked very well. The pool is refreshing and well maintained. The restaurant provides great food and the staff are attentive and very helpful. Walking around the district is not easy, but very enjoyable.

Our recent trip to Bali was truly unforgettable, and staying at the Lesong Hotel was the centerpiece of our experience. The hotel's dedication to tourism and their profound mission greatly inspired us. They have a love and passion for this beautiful area of Bali (home to the indigenous people of dalem Tamblingan), as well as their commitment to preserving and promoting the ecological, social, and cultural aspects of the area. Not only did the hotel excel in its mission, but the food they provided was also exceptional. We had the pleasure of dining for both dinner and breakfast. And the room! It was beyond compare. Sitting on the terrace, I immersed myself in the tranquility of the surroundings, reading my book and listening to the harmonious sounds of nature. The view of the mountains in the distance completed the picture-perfect scene. Additionally, the pool was a pristine oasis. But what truly sets Lesong Hotel apart is their incredible staff. They consistently went above and beyond, offering invaluable guidance and assistance throughout our stay. We took advantage of their tour options and found their suggestions to be spot on. It is a wonderful hiking area. Leaving this remarkable place was no easy task. It left such an impression that we are already making plans to return to Bali in the near future, solely for the opportunity to stay at Lesong Hotel once again.
