Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe location meant we had to always organise transport to get to the sites nearby. We ended up hiring a scooter which was the best for value while we were there and gave us a bit more freedom. Our only big no no was that we had found excessive mould on the back of the curtains on the balcony door, very close to the air conditioning and with my partner being an asthmatic, we were a bit concerned for guests staying for longer stays.
The property is massive! it's tucked away behind Dreamland Beach and you can walk down to it in less than 10 mins. The area here and Balangan Beach are pretty deserted and run down but the view and sunset from the hotel is sensational. Beds and pillows were so comfortable, the buffet breakfast had everything you could want including Indonesian options. They offered happy hour specials and food offers most evenings. Staff were always helpful and very attentive. We refilled our water bottles in the gym most mornings if we were heading out for the day which was very handy.

Actually, it’s hidden gem in the middle of golf course and close to the beach with perfect sunset view location on the roof.

AustraliaOn arrival to our room we noticed the air conditioning was leaking making the floor slippery. We went to reception to bring it to their attention, they got two men to come up and have a look. They told us the air conditioning would take a day to fix and so we would need to move rooms and so we moved to the room next door. We were very appreciative of the new room, however, staff were not very apologetic and it was obviously a disturbance to our trip. There was no air con in the games area with the pool / table tennis table making it very hot and uncomfortable when playing. Each day we put the clean room sign on the door before 9am. Two out of three of the days our room was not cleaned until 2/2.30pm. Staff clearly took their time to clean rooms however it was a nuisance when we wanted to use the room throughout the day but didn’t want to be in the way of cleaners. Staff in the restaurant were not the friendliest. Majority of the staff up there did not smile and did not try to make you feel welcome. I often was made to feel like a burden when asking for or ordering things. I had also put a note on my booking to say one of the guests attending would require gluten free food at breakfast which was included in our booking. I was replied to and told this is no problem. When asking for gluten free items at breakfast I was told there was none ! Hotel was a lot further from things then we thought which was nice as it was quiet but meant to had to get a taxi or bike everywhere as it was too far to walk.
The rooms were very big and spacious, rooftop pool was lovely with beautiful views, hotel was in a very quiet location which made it easy to relax. Pool table and table tennis table were fun

AustraliaThere are not many shops around so we had to travel quite far to eat, or have food delivered to the hotel. There was a drainage issue in the shower where water would leak into the bathroom every time we had a shower. The pool was heavily chlorinated and a bit dirty. There were no umbrellas when sitting on pool chairs which meant you were constantly in direct sun if sitting near the pool. There was construction work going on around the pool area
The room was really nice and spacious with a comfortable bed which made it pleasant to spend time in the room. The staff were lovely and friendly and accommodated our requests. Nice view from the rooftop pool.

United KingdomOur stay was fine at Klapa Resort but the hotel wasn’t 5* and was in need of some tlc. Our air conditioning was faulty and leaked water everywhere every night.
Nice roof top terrace with swimming pool, liked that the hotel served nice food and drink which was convenient when there wasn’t many other restaurants in walking distance. The room and bathroom was very spacious.

IrelandStaff on reception were good. However, staff in the restaurant upstairs were very bad I’m sorry to say. At dinner one evening we were ignored and after 20 mins someone can and asked us if we wanted to ordered with an attitude. Also we arrived for breakfast one morning and there was no cutlery or plates and we had to ask multiple times. The service was very poor. Overall the restaurant team were very unorganised and didn’t listen
Room was great, spacious, nice big bathroom and clean, good aircon and was quiet

AustraliaWe had a few issues arise during our stay in Klapa. All of these issues were dealt with accordingly and promptly, but we were slightly disappointed at how many times we had to report issues to staff. These issues included the following- The first night I arrived I was bitten all over my body by mosquitos during the night (did not open any doors as I arrived late at night) Bugs in our bed Tv in room not working. Once fixed it stopped working 10 mins after On the Friday night the rooftop had an event on, which the music was extremely loud to the point our room was vibrating, (we are not people to complain about loud music over the weekend- but this was up there with the loudest music we have ever heard) when we went up to check out what it was, it was just a group of max 10 people sitting down chatting. It was unnecessarily loud. The breakfast buffet we have to say was very average and not a lot of options to chose from. Some of the food was swimming in oil Our key to get into our room broke twice, so had to speak to staff to get it reactivated Safe in the second room was broken
The rooftop pool was great I’m a black coffee drinker and it’s very hard to find a good black coffee, but the Espresso at Klapa was up there with some of the best black coffee I have ever had, my partner was also very happy with the Cappuccinos Staff were all very friendly and happy to help The stair access down to Dreamland beach was a great touch as we are big beach go-ers Loved the table tennis in the lobby & the gym was also good The room overall was a great size, with a balcony and the bathroom amenities were great
