Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNothing. Everything was great.
Tepi Sawah is a peaceful and magical place. It is the perfect antidote to the hectic chaos of Ubud or Kuta. It is a little piece of authentic, magical Bali not far from Ubud.

MalaysiaThe entrance a bit rocky.
The tranquillity I've never found in Bali. Only a few villas but full of it owns character. You just need a book, a drink, it brings you back to the childhood memories. Simple the best.

AustraliaTepi Sawah was a great reminder that I don’t need air conditioning, artificial background noise, wifi or even walls to have a good night’s sleep. Just natural light and dark, the sound of wildlife, feeling at home with good people (and maybe mosquito repellent). If you’re in need of a reset, stay here.

BrazilIt is a blessed place! I made a reservation for 2 days and decided to stay more time! Beautiful place to stay in peace! Located in a small rice field surrounded by forest. We can hear the forest orchestra all day! The yoga/meditation room has an amazing open view to the rice fields and the forest. They also offer tours. The guide, Putu, is such a special person, with a huge knowledge about the forest and the Balinese culture. There are many incredible things to see nearby, like a temple inside the forest, rice fields protected by Unesco and, my favorite, the enormous and sacred Bayan tree. Besides, you can get a sense of the Balinese real life, away from the most visited touristic places. I really hope I can come back one day! Thank you, Suksma Putu, Dewi and all the team! 🙏

Good The staff of Tepi Sawah will cook delicious food for you, can provide Balinese massages - all the while Putu will be the man for all questions - and sympathetically so! United KingdomThe rooms were beautiful and you’re completely surrounded by nature here. It feels like a part of the world protected by overdevelopment and commercialisation, the local people who worked here were all lovely and they were happy to share their culture and experiences with us when we talked with them so we learned a lot too. You easily spend a couple of days or months here!

United KingdomSome bugs. Not all but some, haha.
This place is extremely special. The land is magical & the family are beautiful. I stayed in the Cottage which is just underneath the main space so has the best wifi but isn’t as secluded as the other spots. The nature here breathtaking if you’re into rural jungle authenticity. Putu I will forever be extending my love & gratitude toward and likewise to all of the family. The food served was delicious and the effort that goes into making sure you’re ok and have things to do if you choose to, is all there. I struggled to leave as it’s without a doubt the most authentic place I stayed in Bali I’ve stayed and fell in the love with the culture and knowledge of the village.

BelgiumEverything was good.
The location was perfect if you wanna explore the nature. They organize trips with the car from the accommodation to the ricefields, waterfalls., temples. If you like to hike you can go with a guide to the temple, jungle and ricefields. The views are stunning. We enjoyed the peace in the area. The food was home made with ingredients from the garden. Very tasty. You can also watch them while cooking in the evening, they have a nice open kitchen. I learned a lot of recepies there. You can also enjoy the healing massage, does miracles. Sleeping with the sound of the frogs and crickets brings you to another world.

Dewi is the most amazing person we met in Bali! She has a very bright mind and kind soul, she created a little tranquil paradise around her, including the property and people being and working there. We loved the concept of having private tranquility and the same time sharing common dining space and having the opportunity to interact. If you stay here, don't miss the jungle tour with Putu, he is very kind, intelligent and funny, shared his full day with us and taught a lot about local animals, plants, natural medicines and culture. We wish Dewi to keep it up for many-many more years! Miki and Anikó

Tepi Sawah is the most peaceful and authentic place you can stay. I went there in the night after arriving at the airport. It was amazing to arrive late in the evening, just jungle sounds and stars in the clear sky. It was the perfect place to spend my first days in Bali to acclimatize. Dewi and the staff are very kind and make you feel like home immediately. You can pick your own passion fruits from the garden and mangosteen. I spend my days walking in the beautiful surroundings with sawahs, village life and the Batukaru temple. Butterflies, flowers, kind people, true Balinese life. Dewi is a beautiful host. She is from the village herself and is very caring for her guests. She teaches English to the children of the village and supports in whatever ways she can. Most unforgettable were my walks with guide Putu. Seeing birds, butterflies, rivers and swimming in the waterfall. I will definitely always return here.

Tepi Sawah Lodge & Retreat is the ideal place to disconnect and recharge your batteries amid the jungle and rice paddies. The whole team is extremely friendly and helpful. I did the cooking class and a jungle walk including meditation with Putu (an amazing local guide), which is a memory that will stay with me for a long time. Thanks again for everything !

SloveniaI spent 5 days at Dewi's place and had a complete detox. This place is heaven on earth. I have never been so connected with nature. I must say it took me a while to get used to it, but this process was special in its own way. Dewi is so caring and makes amazing food, so you soon feel at home and taken care of. Make sure you bring enough cash with you, since there are no ATMs. You need enough, not because it would be so expensive, but because there are many things I would not want you to miss. I did a tour with Putu who is another special human. He is so open to sharing knowledge, I had a great time with him. I will never forget the meditation we did in the middle of the jungle. I did a cooking class and had a massage. All was nice. Even though the place is remote, Dewi and her team has plenty activities for guests to do. Another amazing thing about this place is the people you meet there. It does attract some nice humans, some of them are open to meet and have a nice talk with you if this is what you are looking for. I don't recommend this place to people who expect luxury in a "typical way" as having AC, pool, western food on the menu... Thank you Dewi, Putu and the whole team who is working hard to keep this place so welcoming.

A lovely oasis with a kind and attentive staff situated among the rice fields and jungle. Dewi and her staff provide top notch service in a somewhat remote location but with many things to see nearby. You’ll want to rent a scooter or hire a private driver both of which Devi can arrange. One of my favorite things to do was to ride the scooter on the narrow and scenic rural roads stopping along the way to take pictures of the people and scenery. Waterfalls, rice terraces and temples are all within a 30 minute drive. As other reviewers have mentioned there are insects here and lots of noise from the jungle from creatures like tree frogs. If you are bothered by either it’s probably not the place for you. Food was delicious and prepared with all local and fresh ingredients by Dewi and her staff. I really enjoyed my four night stay.

NetherlandsIt doesn't get better then Dewi and her lodge. Wauw what a magical place. Dewi is so kind and had this great vision. She turned her fathers land into this place with authentic little houses in the middle off the jungle using only brick an reused wood. In her garden you can find all kind off vegetables and fruit growing. Wich she kindly shares with her guest. If you don't want luxerious but something authentic and you want to be close to nature it doesn't get better then this. At night the magic happens when the fireflies come out to play. You can see the moon and the stars and the sunrise and sunset. And Dewi is the heart off it all with her kind smile. Always helpfull, welcomming and just the best. If I have the chance I will return in a heartbeat
