Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsNothing. But before you book, be aware that you are not near shops, supermarkets etc. Good to know to manage your expectations.. :)
The owner, Dewi, is an amazing woman. So kind, friendly and a wonderful chef. The lodges are basic but everything you need in a place so pure like this place. The property is in the middle of rice terraces and near the jungle. It is so peaceful and beautiful! Would love to come back!

NetherlandsThe Internet connection was not fast enough for my need. I needed to log into work and be able to stream video calls. It was raining every afternoon. (Could I have expected anything else in a RAINforest, hahaha)
1. The setting is amazing. A cabin on stelts with no walls on three sides (just roller blades to provide cover if preferred) with a garden on one side and some beautful rice terraces on the other. Right in the middle of the jungle. Nothing luxury. All about atmosphere. 2. The staff is extremely hospitable. Dewi is absolute angel doing everything to make her guests feel comfortable 3. Nice freshly made food. Each evening I was served multiple (mainly vegetarian) dishes which were part of the set menu. 4. Very interesting walk with guide through the jungle visiting BatuKaru temple and some local producers.

The proprietress and staff are very friendly and goes out of her way to make us feel welcome. At night they cooked a delicious dinner with ingredients from the property. it’s a hidden gem

Totally recommend the tracking tour to the jungle. The tracking guide can talk good English and have a lot of knowledge about the local plants an will share everything he knows. United StatesNothing, everything was great! The only issue is that the Wi-Fi does not work in the room, and you have to use it in the kitchen area.
We really liked this property, was such a good experience. If you are looking for a place in the middle of nature, this is definitely the place! The hosts were very accommodating, cooked us dinner when we arrived, and let us choose the room we wanted. They also gave us really good travel advice about activities and what we could do. I would recommend to any friend or family to stay at this place.

SpainAs mentioned there may be elements of comfort that you may be looking for and you won't find here (I personally didn't need them at all) such as hot water or wifi in the room, or easier accessibility. For me these things (or the lack of the elements) made the experience even more authentic, but that's a matter of preferences.
As I read in one of the reviews, Tepi Sewah is an experience that may not be for everyone, and I find it very true. It is much more than accommodation, but rather a experience, and the best one I had in Bali, without doubt. The place ands its surroundings are really magic, full of serenity and peace, feeling part of nature. The exquisite taste of its owners is visible in each detail of the decorations, and it gives a special vibe that makes you feel energized by the place, both inside and outside of the room. Honestly, I haven't seen such a good taste in any other accommodation in Bali, where unfortunately touristic places trend to look a lot like others.. that's not the case of Tepi Sewah, that comes across as a unique and unrepeatable place. Last but not least I'd like to thank the kindness and hospitality of its owner, workers and people involved in the activities they offer / connect you with, that makes the experience even greater. A place to come back.

IndonesiaNothing to complain!
I stayed at Tepi Sawah over Nyepi and had an amazing time. Can only recommend! The owner Dewi is super lovely and helpful, plus she is an amazing cook. She is cooking with ingredients from her garden and her dog Pico is super cute as well. She also has a little yoga room. So this is the perfect getaway if you are looking for a place to relax in nature, escape the hectic traffic, chill in peace and quiet then this is your location. The wooden cottages are simple but beautiful and I personally loved the outdoor shower. The view on Dewi‘s rice fields and the surrounding forest is stunning. Please keep in mind that there might be insects finding their way into the huts, so you shouldn’t be arachnophobic ;) Thank you for everything Dewi 🙏💛

NetherlandsDear Dewi and Pico, we spent a few days with you. We were pleasantly surprised. It is a paradise in Bali. The warmth we found with you was very special (especially with your family). We also had a delicious meal (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Jadec surprised us with his excursions to the temple and the rice fields. He should definitely continue with this. Tepi Sawah Lodge&Retreat a location to definitely come back to.

NetherlandsFoodies and nature lovers: attention! We also😊, like all the other reviewers, were surprised by this location! Dewi is so hospitable! In our country we would call this stay: staying at a farmers place, because you live on the rice terrace of Dewi, learn about the sawa, enjoy her food and the peace of the place. The kitchen with nice looking recycled closets from Jawa, and the best cleanest, freshest, organic Balinese food we ever ate. Piko and Kimmy the dogs 😍 were also a good company... The greatest place, simple Balinese wooden house, the bed was very clean, best view on sawa, nice noises of animals… and of course in the evening the magical fireflies dancing above the sawa. Nearby is a beautiful plateau sawa we fell in love with. Please please try her Balinese dinner, its delicious! Matur suksma, bu Dewi😍

DenmarkEverything was fantastic but you need to rent a car or motorbike or make an arrangement with a driver to get there and get around in the area.
Absolutely fantastic place located in the most beautiful surroundings that can be imagined with view over rice paddies, fruit trees and lush forrest. Bu Dewi who owns and runs the place is overwhelmingly sweet and friendly and clearly loves to be host. She also makes delicious food based on all the fruit and plants that grow on the site. She is so good with children and let's them pick fruit, lends them toys etc. Our hut was so beautiful and spacious and with a wonderful outdoor bath room. The beds were comfortable and we fell asleep to the jungle sounds of frogs and insects. It was so lovely to get away from the bussy turist areas and this serene place. Our children cried when we it was time to leave.

Tepi Sawah is a really secluded place with absolutely 100% local vibe. Dewi speaks great English and can tell you a lot of things about authentic Bali life. You can do a cooking class, go trekking with Putu or visit Temple Batukaru - it’s beautiful and not touristic, with no monkeys. 2 days for sure can be planned with that. You can even book a special temple visiting and praying - then you will make the specials givings, will be wearing traditional clothes and will be allowed to inter the temple (which normal tourists can not do). Truly special experience. As for the room - all as described, for the price it’s amazing experience and great view, where real people grow rise. Outside shower is nice. Frogs, loud in the nights and other small insects are there - you need to be okay with that. But it gives a wild great vibe. But you either can compromise with it to explore real Balinese or not - it’s up to you. I am a solo woman traveler and I was fine, even though I’m scared of insects. The bed had a net, so you feel safe. The room has a kettle (which is very nice for me) but no hair dryer which I didn’t need. Bring snacks and drinks with you - there is nothing very close. But again - I had no scooter or car and I managed with Dewi and Putu helping me out with program and getting to another city in Bali. My favorite thing was taking a yoga mat and lying on the balcony listening to the jungle.
