Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsNothing. I would not necessarily recommend the dolphin watching, it is very crowded and they are chasing the dolphins. But that is more an issue of the partner they collaborate with rather than the hotel.
Amazingly beautiful views. We got a free upgrade. Staff is incredibly kind and they remember your names and make a personal connection. Breakfast is amazing. They are open for changes in the menu (caramel cappuccino hot). They try to make it the easiest and relaxed they you’ve ever had :)

AustraliaLots of steps to get to the restaurant & pool and then back to your room. Felt like a workout in the heat, every trip. Bull ants under the toilet seat was a nasty surprise. Lizard poo on the bed is just what happens in a room in the country. It was quickly removed. The free shuttle needs to be booked in advance. The sunset meditations were moved to 10 or 11am. I got sick & threw up along with 2 other guests on the same day. Not sure what we ate or drank to do that. GoJek doesn’t service the area because it is so far away from everything.
Beautiful location with amazing views of rice fields. Fantastic staff. Close to Aling Aling Waterfall. No TV in the room (yay)

AustraliaWe arrived in darkness and the staff could not do enough for us travelling with elderly mum and friend and I was on crutches, there got a car to take us up the hill to have our dinner when we came back and they said that they had upgraded our rooms so we didn't have the steps. Everytime we got near lobby someone came put to us to help or to see if there was anything we needed. Will definitely come back again

IrelandNothing we didn't like. We did have an issue with AC in our room on the first day and even though the staff were very helpful and attentive, the issue was solved until the next morning , it was very hot in the room and didn't have a good sleep because of it but it's a technical issue and was fixed as soon as possible.
The staff were amazing, always very welcoming and very helpful and cheery and knew us by name. Check in isn't until 3pm but we were there before 2 and the staff were very kind to allow us to check in early. The food in the restaurant is some of the best food we had in Bali . The pool is very relaxing and beautiful, the breakfast is very delicious and filling and there's a great variety. The view from the room was insanely gorgeous and being able to see the sunrise every morning from our balcony was just spectacular. The room and bathroom were very spacious and the bed very comfortable. The resort is kind of in the middle of nowhere but that's what we wanted and it's the perfect escape away from the busy city.

United StatesNothing. Everything was so perfect.
This resort is perfection. The views from every villa are stunning. You have privacy in your villa, yet a fabulous full restaurant just up the steps. We’ve traveled Bali for 1 month, and no doubt this is our favorite place and our favorite people. The staff know you by name and genuinely care for you like family. I’ve never left a place after a 4 day stay and become emotional with the good bye … but this one was hard to leave. It simply couldn’t have been better. The nearby waterfalls are a fabulous bonus adventure!

GermanyA lot of stairs , your guest should be informed about this
We spent 3 Weeks on Bali, traveling around we stayed in 7 different places. Maha Hills Resort was the best off all! Perfect position, great views from everywhere, wonderful nature surroundings, walking distance to waterfalls. The place is very stylish, the food wonderfully and authentic- but the very best is the staff! We know people are everywhere friendly on Bali, but at mahla hills it’s far over the standard hostility. We will come again Regine and Conny, 60 years old from Germany

Polandno matter if you stay for 2 or 4 days or a week... it will be difficult to leave Maha Hills
The resort is located on a mountainside. There was a beautiful view from every place, including our terrace. There are a lot of stairs in the area (but not too steep, and most of them have railings), so Maha Hills is a great option for adults who are looking for relaxation and tranquillity. Spacious bathroom with shower and bathtub. A large swimming pool (again with THIS view) next to the restaurant serving delicious dishes, including Balinese cuisine. There is also a SPA on site, from which you can listen to the sound of the waterfall during a massage... these are amazing moments that are impossible to describe. Even though the facility is quite large, it has a unique, friendly and even family atmosphere. Maybe the view is worth $1 000 000, but these unique experiences are created primarily by people and their approach to guests - and this is priceless. We spent 4 days at the hotel. The Maha Hills team prepared a birthday surprise for me, which was not only nice, but... touching. Special thanks to: Bagus & Ardi from the front desk and the TopVibes Pool and Eatery team > Martika, Paris and chief Joni ♥️ thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

EstoniaNo specific dislikes about the property. We happened to visit the resort during a really bad weather (it rained most of the time, plus fog) and because of that we couldn’t experience the full potential of the place. We didn’t use our private pool or couldn’t sit and enjoy the views from our private balcony. Because of the constant rain everything was damp (even the bedlinen). But you can’t choose the weather! One thing that bothered us was that cats were gathering in our out doors lounge area and crying for hours at night. This constantly interrupted our sleep.
The staff was so welcoming and extremely friendly. The resort is located between rice fields and jungle so the views were breathtaking. We really enjoyed the restaurant menu and breakfast had plenty of options to choose from. The villa was really clean.

NetherlandsThe bathroom: the toilet didn't work and quit a lot of ants. We stayed at similar resorts and the yoga and meditation were included.
If you are looking for an authentic balinese experience then Maha Hills is your place to stay. The hotel is situated in the mountains, around 30 min by taxi to Lovina. When you drive up to the mountains and hotel you can see the real life of Bali and the rice fields. You can also have some nice hikes around the hotel and bump into some locals, who are very friendly. Also some waterfalls are in the surroundings. We stayed at Maha Hills for 4 nights and enjoyed our time a lot. The hotel has small flaws, but all the positives let us forget the few flaws. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. Big thanks to Ardi, Martika, Dayu, Paris and the rest of the team, as well as to the driver, arranged by the hotel called Made

GermanyThe only thing that could be improved is their variation of vegetarian and vegan food in the restaurant.
We had a lovely time at the Maha hills and everything was taken care of. The staff was exceptionally friendly, we had a great Spa experience and the breakfast was delicious. For day trips we got a personal driver (Ardi) that told us much about the Balinese culture and took care of all our wishes.

The drive to North island takes around 2 hours but feels like 40 mins as there's so much to see and take in on the drive there, greeted with a big smile I was looked after every step of the way. The restaurant and reception staff made my time there as a solo traveler so special, especially Dayu, Darma and Diah ❤️ everyone there was awesome and very helpful! AustraliaFirst time in Bali, so I didn't know how isolated this location was, I assumed it may have been a bit more 'walking' friendly. The layout of the villa was not of our preference, as the 'lounge room' was downstairs next to pool, which is accessed from the upstairs front door, so it feels quite seperate and smaller space upstairs. Only other place to hang out is at restaurant. We did walk down the road 20-25 minutes once, the walk back up is brutal, but good exercise. Not many options for other food and change of scenery. I would recommend this location to people who use scooters or are happy to just stay at resort for most of their time. Mattress was average for us, a bit too stiff. Also pillows are too firm and full. But that is a personal preference.
The views are spectacular from the villa and especially at the restaurant/pool. It's a beautifully lush resort in nature. The yoga space also is unique and special. We both really enjoyed the yoga class and it was a fair price as well. The restaurant has delicious food and plenty of choice. The staff were what made this stay the most memorable. Incredibly outgoing, attentive and willing to assist. We greatly enjoyed chatting with them, learning about bali and the people. I arrived to the resort with Bali belly and they were very kind in getting me freshly picked young coconut to drink. I highly recommend Maha Hills for a single or couple, who are wanting to escape the busy city to a peaceful place with amazing hospitality.

FranceToo many insects, long way up to go to restaurants (many stairs) not suitable for people who has knees problem. And the restaurant wait is too long, they should manage better the service and the staffs to get us the food on time, especially for breakfast that we already order the night before.
Beautiful property in the jungle with great view in the restaurants and Yoga Shala. We really love Ardi, the nicest staff and guide that we have in Bali !
