GermanyUnfortunately they don't speak English there, so be prepared to use a Translator and also they cannot help with getting a scooter and in Surabaya there are only then official rentals, that are pricy and more strict in rules.
Very beautiful building and in general there are many nice villas around as the location is in a very posh and calm rich vila area, so very good. The room as also nice, although ours had no window outside.

It might be a good idea to add shampoo, conditioner and shower gel dispenser. Unfortunately no separation between the shower so the water is all over the bathroom after you shower
Staff are helpful and the room is clean. The bed is also big and comfortable. They also sell some snacks, drinks and instant ramens. Too bad the coffee place in the guest house has closed. I extended my stay for a week. Location is good and this place is quite with many cafes n restos surrounded it.

Good location near restaurants, an ATM and a convenience store. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and with minimal decorations (except for the gorgeous tiles in the bathroom). Huge fridge.

IndonesiaI'd been avoiding Mooi because of the significant number of poor reviews. But when temporarily rendered cardless, I had no choice but to select a place that did not require a credit card. Hoping to avoid the worst, I booked the Deluxe Queen, at higher rate. But none of the reviews prepared me for the trauma: 1. The listing says English is spoken, but the desk staff spoke no English and only communicated through a phone translator. Lack of communication effectively shielded staff from dealing with the many problems. 2. The room literally looked like ruins of a war zone, with crumbling walls and dilapidated bed and fridge (see attached photos). Grime and filth were everywhere. Only the bathroom somehow (mostly) escaped the horror. This is Mooi's "Deluxe", that required a cash deposit? When I registered my concern for my deposit on a room already badly damaged, the staff (through phone translator) acknowledged the damage (and, on checkout, the full deposit was returned). 3. The room description claims "View", but that view is merely a wall just a few feet away. Look closely at the photos in the description: the wall is partially visible in one. 4. Exhausted from a long flight, I resigned myself to a night in Hell, followed by early checkout. But, yet another surprise! The room stays partially lit at night, with the hall light coming in through a window above the door. 5. One last surprise when leaving: the door handle nearly fell off in my hands! It was hanging off two screws, ready to drop - this is what the description calls "24-hour security"? The good news: three quality, branded hotels are less than a 5-minute walk away (less than 300m). One is nearly the same rate as Mooi, another is cheaper than Mooi! Scam? You've been warned...
